Temperature control
Whenyou turn the TEMPERATURE
control to the desired setting, the
thermostat will automatically control
the temperature of the indoor air.
The higher the number selected,
the cooler the indoor air will be.
The Save EnergyRangeisavisual
reminder that you can conserve
energy by selecting ahigher room
temperature but still keep the room
cool and less hurrlid than outside.
ventilationcontrol
When the VENTll_ATlON control
is set at “closed” the vent door is
closed and only the air inside the
‘roomcan be circulated and condi-
tioned. When it’s in the “open” pOS-
ition, the vent door is open and
indoor air can be exhausted from
the room.

The ENERGY SAVER switch controls the fan operation. When it’s in
the “norm” position, the fan wili circulate room air continuously. When it’s
in tIIe “save” position, the fan will automatically cycle on and off with the
compressor.
Icorfan only operation, ENERGY S/4VERs witcl~must be in “norm” position.
selector switch
OFF turns air conditioner off.
*HI FAN permits continuous high
fanspeed operation without cooling.
*LO FAN permits continuous low fan
speed operation without cooling.
*ULTRA LO FAN permits continuous
ultra low fan speed operation with-
out cooling.
*For fan only opera~ion,ENERGY
SAVER switch must be in “norm”
positon.
HI COOL permits cooling with con-
tinuous high fan speed operation,
LO COOL permits cooling with
continuous lowfanspeed operation.
ULTRALO COOL permits cooling
with continuous ultra low fan speed
operation.
a

For norn%alcooling
1. Set SELECTORswitch at
HI COOL.
2. Set TEMPERATUREcontrol at
desired number (usuallythe mid-
point isa good starting position).
/f room temperature is not satisfac-
tory after areasonabletime, set the
thermostat control at ahigher
number for acooler room or at a
lower number for awarmer room.
3. Slide ENERGY SAVEI?switch
to the desired position–’’save”
or “norm.”
4. Set VENTILATION control at
“closed” position.
For maximum cooling
1. Set SELECTORswitch at
HI COOL.
2. Set TEMPERATUREcontrol at10.
3. Slide ENERGY SAVERswitch
to “norm” position.
4. Set VENTILATION control at
“closed” position.
For Qtlieteroperation
1. Set SELECTORswitch at
ULTRALOCOOL.
2. Set THERMOSTATcontrol at
desired number.
3. Set VENTILATION control at
“closed” position.
4. Slide ENERGY SAVERswitch to
desired position.
Note: When ENERGY SAVER
switch isat “save;’ changes in
sound level maybe more apparent
asthe fan-cycles on and off with
the compressor.
For nighttime operation
During the cooler evening hours,
it is recommended that you set the
SELECTOR switch at ULTRA LO
COOLfor very quiet operation and
the TEMPERATURE control at
midrange (4).
For extreme temperatures
For greatest economy and best
performance, we suggest you
alwaysset the SELECTOR switch
at HI COOL in extrernelyhot
weather.
Wipe front grille with aclean cloth
lightly dampened with mild liquid
dishwashing detergent. Washcab-
!net with mild soap or detergent and
lukewarm water.
For ventilation
Whethercontrols areset for cooling
orfan operation only,setting the
VENTILATIONcontrol at“open” lets
roomair be exhaustedto the out-
side.Thisishelpful in removing stale
air,smokeor odorsfrom the room.
However,cooling effectiveness is
reduced when this control isset at
“open” so we suggest you don’t
keep it there long–especially in
hot, humid weather.
SIDE-TO-SIDE AIR DIRECTION
To adjustairdirection
Position the horizontal louvers
with your fingertips to direct air
discharge up or down. Usethe tabs
to position the hidden vertical
louvers to direct air discharge to
the left, right or any position in
