Your telephone equipment is approved for connection to the Public SwitchedTelephone Network and is in
compliance with parts 15 and 68, FCC Rules and Regulations and theTechnical Requirements forTelephone
Terminal Equipment published by ACTA.
1Notification to the Local Telephone Company
On the bottom of this equipment is a label indicating, among other information, the US number and Ringer
Equivalence Number (REN) for the equipment.You must, upon request, provide this information to your
telephone company.
The REN is useful in determining the number of devices you may connect to your telephone line and still have all
of these devices ring when your telephone number is called. In most (but not all) areas, the sum of the RENs of all
devices connected to one line should not exceed 5. To be certain of the number of devices you may connect to your
line as determined by the REN, you should contact your local telephone company.
Notes
•This equipment may not be used on coin service provided by the telephone company.
•Party lines are subject to state tariffs, and therefore, you may not be able to use your own telephone equipment
if you are on a party line. Check with your local telephone company.
•Notice must be given to the telephone company upon permanent disconnection of your telephone from your line.
2Rights of the Telephone Company
Should your equipment cause trouble on your line which may harm the telephone network, the telephone
company shall, where practicable, notify you that temporary discontinuance of service may be required.Where
prior notice is not practicable and the circumstances warrant such action, the telephone company may temporarily
discontinue service immediately. In case of such temporary discontinuance, the telephone company must: (1)
promptly notify you of such temporary discontinuance; (2) afford you the opportunity to correct the situation; and
(3) inform you of your right to bring a complaint to the Commission pursuant to procedures set forth in Subpart E
of Part 68, FCC Rules and Regulations.
The telephone company may make changes in its communications facilities, equipment, operations or procedures

INTRODUCTION
This telephone has been designed to be simple to use, however, you
can reach its full potential more quickly by taking a few minutes to read
this User’s Guide.This telephone is a multifunction product for use with
the Call Waiting and Caller ID services available from your local
telephone company.
Your Caller ID Call Waiting phone allows you to:
•View the name and telephone number of a caller (Call Waiting Caller ID).
•Identify callers before you answer the phone.
•View the clock time and date of each incoming call.
•Record up to 40 Caller ID messages sequentially.
•Know who called while you are on the other line when you were away.
•Screen unwanted calls, eliminate harassment from annoying calls, or to
get prepared before answering a call.
IMPORTANT: Because cordless phones operate on electricity, you should
have at least one phone in your home that isn’t cordless, in case the power in
your home goes out.
IMPORTANT: In order to use all of the features of this telephone, you must
subscribe to two separate services available from your local telephone
company: the standard Name/Number Caller ID Service to know who is
calling when the phone rings and Caller ID with Call Waiting Service to know
who is calling while you are on the phone.
CAUTION: When using telephone equipment, there are basic safety
instructions that should always be followed. Refer to the IMPORTANT
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS provided with this product and save them for
future reference.

INSTALLATION AND SETUP
Make sure your package includes the items shown here.
MODULAR JACK REQUIREMENTS
You need an RJ11C type modular phone jack, which is the most
common type of phone jack and might look like the one
pictured here. If you don’t have a modular jack, call your local
phone company to find out how to get one installed.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Some cordless telephones operate at frequencies that
may cause interference to nearby TVs, microwave ovens, and VCRs. To minimize
or prevent such interference, the base of the cordless telephone should not be
placed near or on top of a TV, microwave oven, or VCR. If such interference
continues, move the cordless telephone farther away from these appliances.
Certain other communications devices may also use the 2.4 GHz frequency for
communication, and, if not properly set, these devices may interfere with each other
and/or your new telephone. If you are concerned with interference, please refer to
the owner’s manual for these devices on how to properly set channels to avoid
interference. Typical devices that may use the 2.4 GHz frequency for communication
include wireless audio/video senders, wireless computer networks, multi-handset
cordless telephone systems, and some long-range cordless telephone systems.
DIGITAL SECURITY SYSTEM
Your cordless phone uses a digital security system to provide protection
against false ringing, unauthorized access, and charges to your phone line.
When you place the handset in the base, the unit verifies its security code.
After a power outage or battery replacement, you should place the
handset in the base for about 20 seconds to reset the code.

DESKTOP INSTALLATION
NOTE: for desktop charging only, the handset is able to charge facing up
or down.
1. Remove the battery compartment door on the handset, insert the battery
pack, plug the cord into the jack (inside the compartment), and replace
the compartment door.
2. Set the ringer switch (on the handset) to ON, and place handset in the
cradle on the base.
3. Plug the power supply into the power jack on the back of base and the
other end into an electrical outlet.The “charge/page” indicator comes on
verifying the battery is charging.
Allow the phone to charge for 12 hours prior to first use. If you don’t
properly charge the phone, battery performance will be compromised.
4. Plug the telephone line cord into the PHONE LINE jack on the back of the
base and into a modular phone jack.
NOTE : The phone automatically defaults to touch-tone dialing. To change to
pulse (rotary) dialing, see “Tone/Pulse Dialing.” If you don’t know which type
of service you have, check with the phone company.
CAUTION: Use only the ATLINKS USA, Inc. 5-2521 power supply
that is compatible with this unit. Using other power supplies may
damage the unit.

WALL MOUNT INSTALLATION
Because it is necessary to charge the handset for 12 hours prior to
connecting the phone for use the first time, it is better to leave the unit on
a flat surface during initial charge before attempting to hang it on the wall.
1. Remove the battery compartment door on the handset, insert the battery
pack, plug the cord into the jack (inside the compartment), and replace
the compartment door.
2. Set the ringer switch (on the handset) to ON, and place handset in the
cradle on the base.
3. Plug the power supply into the power jack on the back of the base and
the other end into an electrical outlet.The “charge/page” indicator
comes on, verifying the battery is charging.
Allow the phone to charge for 12 hours prior to first use. If you don't
properly charge the phone, battery performance will be compromised.

4. Remove the handset from the cradle and set aside.Turn the base over
and align the four slots on the bottom of the base with the four hook
tabs on the bracket.
5. Insert the hook-tabs into the slots and push upwards until the bracket
snaps securely into place.
6. Plug the telephone line cord into the phone jack on the back of the base
and into a modular phone jack.
7. Slip the mounting holes over the wall plate posts and slide the unit
down firmly into place. (Wall plate not included.)
8. Place the handset in the cradle.
NOTE : If desired, gather the extra telephone line and power supply cord
together, fasten with a wire tie, and store inside the wall mounting bracket.
NOTE : The phone automatically defaults to touch-tone dialing. To change to
pulse (rotary) dialing, see “Tone/Pulse Dialing.” If you don’t know which type
of service you have, check with the phone company.

There are six programmable menus available: Language, Contrast, Area
Code, RingerTone,Time and Default (Clock time is set from base only).
SETTING THE DISPLAY LANGUAGE
This setting can be done from the base and handset.
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the flash/program button on the base or handset. 1 ENGLISH
2 ESPANOL shows in the display.
3. Press the CID (up or down arrow) button or the 1 or 2 number key.
4. Select the desired language.
5. Press the flash/program button to confirm.
NOTE: The language setting on the handset should match the language
setting on the base.
SETTING THE DISPLAY CONTRAST
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the flash/program button on the base twice. SET CONTRAST
shows in the display.
3. Press the CID (up or down arrow) button or the 1, 2, or 3 number keys.
4. Select the desired contrast.
5. Press the flash/program button to confirm.
NOTE: The contrast setting on the handset display is fixed and cannot
be adjusted.
SETTING THE AREA CODE
IMPORTANT: For proper Caller ID operation, you must enter your area code.
This setting can be set on the base and handset.
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the flash/program button on the base three times and press the flash/
program button twice on the handset. SET AREA CODE shows on the display.

3. Enter your 3-digit area code using the number keys.
4. Press the flash/program button to confirm.
SETTING THE RINGER TONE FROM THE BASE
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the flash/program button four times. SET RINGERTONE shows on
the display.
3. Press CID (up or down arrow) button or press the 1, 2, or 3 number key.
4. Select the desired ringer tone.
5. Press the flash/program button to confirm.
SETTING THE RINGER TONE FROM THE HANDSET
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the flash/program button three times. SET RINGERTONE shows
on the display.
3. Press CID (up or down arrow) button or press the 1, 2, or 3 number key.
4. Select the desired ringer tone.
5. Press flash/program button to confirm.
NOTE: The ringer tone can be set from both the handset and the base.
SETTING THE CLOCK TIME
REMINDER: The clock time and date are programmed automatically when
the first Caller ID information is successfully received after setup.
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the flash/program button on the base five times. SET TIME
shows on the display.
3. Enter the hour and minutes using the number keys (0-9).
4. Press CID (up or down arrow) button to select AM or PM.
5. Press the flash/program button to confirm.

SETTING THE DEFAULT FROM THE BASE
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the flash/program button six times. DEFAULT SETTING 1YES 2NO
shows in the display.
3. Press the CID (up or down arrow) button or the 1 or 2 number keys.
4. Press the flash/program button to confirm.
NOTE: The default settings are: Language - English, Contrast - 2, Ringer Tone 1,
Area Code - _ _ _, Time Set - 12:00 AM, Default Set - 2 NO.
SETTING THE DEFAULT FROM THE HANDSET
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the flash/program button four times. DEFAULT SETTING 1YES
2NO shows on the display.
3. Press CID (up or down arrow) button or press the 1 or 2 number key.
4. Press flash/program button to confirm.
TONE/PULSE SET UP
This adjustment allows you to select tone (touch-tone) or pulse (rotary)
dialing.The phone is automatically set for touch-tone use.This setting can
only be changed from the base.
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Set the TONE/PULSE switch (located on the back of the base) toTONE
for touch-tone service or PULSE for rotary service. If you don’t know
which type of service you have, contact your local telephone company.

BASIC TELEPHONE OPERATION
RECEIVING ACALL
1. Check the display to see who is calling.
2. Press theTALK/callback on the handset or press SPEAKER on the base to
answer a call.
3. Press the TALK/callback on the handset or press SPEAKER on the base to
hang up.
MAKING ACALL
1. Press theTALK/callback button on the handset or the SPEAKER button
on the base before you dial.
2. PressTALK/callback or the SPEAKER button again to hang up.
AUTO STANDBY
While the handset is on, place it in the cradle on the base and it automatically
hangs up.
PREDIALING
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Enter the telephone number you wish to call.The telephone number
shows in the display.
3. Press the TALK/callback button on the handset or the SPEAKER button
on the base.The telephone number and TALK shows in the handset
display.The telephone number, TALK , call timer, and volume setting
shows in the base display.
NOTE: You may enter up to 32 predial digits.
STORING APREDIAL NUMBER IN MEMORY
Predial numbers may be transferred into memory.

1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the memory button.
3. Press the desired memory location (0-9 key).
4. Press the memory button, and ENTER NAME shows in the display.
5. Use the number pad to enter the name, and press the memory button.
ENTERTEL NUMBR shows in the display.
6. Press the redial/delete button, and then press the memory button again.
You will hear a confirmation tone.
DELETING THE PREDIAL NUMBER
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Enter the telephone number you wish to dial.
3. Press the redial/delete button to delete the telephone number.
DIALING
1. Press theTALK/callback button on the handset or the SPEAKER button on
the base. TALK shows on the handset and TALK , the call timer, and
volume level shows on the base display first.
2. Enter the telephone number.The telephone number, channel, and
volume level shows on the handset display.The telephone number,
TALK , call timer, and volume level shows on the base display.
RINGER SWITCH
Handset:
The ringer switch (located on the side of the handset) must be ON for the
handset to ring during incoming calls.

ADJUSTING THE VOLUME
The volume buttons on the handset and base control the volume level
of the handset's earpiece or the base unit's speaker.There are four
listening levels.
Base:
1. Make sure the phone is OFF.
2. To increase the volume to the highest level, press the volume up button.
RINGER HIGH shows in the display.
3. To decrease the volume level, press the volume down button. RINGER
LOW shows in the display.
4. To turn off the volume, press the volume down button until the RINGER
OFF shows in the display.
Speakerphone:
1. Make sure the phone is ON (speakerphone is in use).
2.To adjust the volume level, press the volume up or down button on
the base.The telephone number, TALK , call timer, and volume level
shows in the display.
Handset:
1. Make sure the phone is ON (handset is in use).
2. Press the volume up or down button on the side of the handset.The
telephone number you dialed, channel selection, time, and volume level
shows in the display.
ROOM MONITORING INTERCOM
The intercom feature of your cordless phone allows you to have a two-way
conversation between the handset and the base unit without tying up the
telephone line. Since the telephone line is not being used, you can still
receive incoming calls.

From the Handset:
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not inTALK mode).
2. Press the int (intercom) button on the handset. A paging tone sounds at
the base and from the handset. PAGING shows in the display. (To cancel
intercom, press the int button again.)
3. Wait for the person near the base to press the PAGE/intercom button.
When the PAGE/intercom button on the base is pressed, INTERCOM
shows in the display.
NOTE: After 15 seconds of paging, if the page is not answered at the base, the
base intercom turns on and the person using the handset may listen to what is
happening in the room where the base is located. The person using the handset
may also speak into the handset and be heard through the base’s speaker.
4. When finished, press int on the handset or PAGE/intercom on the base
to stop using the intercom.
NOTE: The base must be within range of the handset for the intercom to
function. If the base is in use, BASE IN USE shows on the handset display.
From the Base:
1. Make sure the phone is OFF (not in SPEAKERPHONE mode).
2. Press the PAGE/intercom button. A paging tone sounds at the
handset. (To cancel intercom, press PAGE/intercom again.) PAGING
shows in the display.
3. Wait for the person with the handset to press the int button. When the
int button is pressed, INTERCOM shows in the display.
4. When finished, press the PAGE/intercom button on the base (or int on
the handset) to stop using the intercom.
NOTE: The handset must be within range of the base unit in order for
intercom to function. If the handset is in use, you will hear a beep from the
base unit.

Using the intercom when you have a call on speakerphone:
1. Press the hold button on the base to put the call on hold.
2. Press the PAGE/intercom button to page the handset.
3. Wait for the person with the handset to press the int (intercom) button

Using the intercom when you have a call on the handset:
1. Press the FORMAT/hold button on the handset to put the call on hold.

3. Wait for the person at the base to press PAGE/Intercom. INTERCOM
shows in the display.
4. Press PAGE/intercom on the base or int on the handset to stop using the
intercom and switch back to cordless telephone operation.
CONFERENCE CALLS
You can use the speakerphone and handset at the same time for a 3-way
conversation with a third party.
Conferencing from the Base:
1. Press the SPEAKER button on the base. TALK , the time, and volume level
shows in the base display. BASE IN USE shows on the handset display.
2. Dial the number you want to call.The telephone number you dialed,
TALK , the call timer, and volume level shows in the display.
3. When the phone is connected, pressTALK/callback on the handset.The
base displays CONFERENCE , TALK , the time, and volume level.The
handset displays CONFERENCE , the selected channel, the call timer, and
volume level.

4. When finished, pressTALK/callback and SPEAKER to hang up.
TIP: If you want to hang up the handset and continue talking on the
speakerphone, press TALK/callback.
Conferencing from the Handset:

5. Enter conference mode.
REDIAL
1. Make sure the phone is turned ON.
2. Press the TALK/callback button on the handset or SPEAKER button on
the base.
3. Press the redial/delete button to redial the last number you dialed (up
to 32 digits).
FAST REDIAL
1. Press the TALK/callback button on the handset or SPEAKER button on
the base.
2. Enter the telephone number you want to dial.
3. If the line is busy, press the redial/delete button.The phone will drop the
line for two seconds and resend the last number dialed.
FLASH
Use the flash/program button to activate custom calling services such
as call waiting or call transfer, which are available through your local
phone company.
TIP: Don’t use the TALK/callback or SPEAKER button to activate custom
calling services such as call waiting, or you’ll hang up the phone.
CHANNEL BUTTON
While talking, you might need to manually change the channel in order to
get rid of static. Press and release the chan button to switch to the next
clear channel.
