When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including the
following:
Consumer Safety Information
1. Read all instructions.
2. To protect against risk of electrical shock,
do not immerse cord, plug, or motor
base in water or other liquid.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children.
4. Unplug cord from outlet when not in
use, before putting on or taking off parts,
and before cleaning.
5. Avoid contacting moving parts. Keep
fingers out of food chute.
6. Always make sure juice extractor cover is
clamped securely in place before motor is
turned on. Do not unfasten cover latches
while juice extractor is in operation.
7. Never operate without pulp bowl in place.
8. Be sure to turn switch to OFF position
after each use of your juice extractor.
Make sure the motor stops completely
before disassembling.
9. Do not put fingers or other objects into
the juice extractor food chute while it is in
operation. Never feed food by hand –
always use the food pusher. If food
becomes lodged in the opening, use food
pusher or another piece of fruit or veg-
etable to push it down. When this method
is not possible, turn the motor off, unplug
the cord from the outlet, and disassemble
juicer to remove the remaining food.
10. Do not operate any appliance with a
damaged cord or plug, or after the appli-
ance malfunctions or is dropped or
damaged in any manner. Call our
toll-free customer assistance number for
information on examination, repair, or
electrical or mechanical adjustment.
11. The use of attachments not recommend-
ed or sold by the appliance manufacturer
may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
12. Do not use outdoors.
13. Do not let cord hang over edge of table
or counter, or touch hot surfaces, includ-
ing stove.
14. Do not leave juice extractor unattended
while it is operating.
15. Blades are sharp; handle carefully.
16. Keep hair, clothing, and jewelry, as well
as spatulas and other utensils, away from
food chute during operation to prevent
the possibility of severe injury to persons
and/or damage to the appliance.
17. The cutter/strainer is a very delicate
screen not covered under the warranty.
Do not wash in an automatic dishwasher.

This appliance is intended for household use
only.
To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not
use another high wattage appliance on the
same circuit with your juice extractor.
This appliance is equipped with a polarized
plug. This type of plug has one blade wider
than the other. The plug will fit into an
electrical outlet only one way. This is a
safety feature intended to help reduce the
risk of electrical shock. If you are unable to
insert the plug into the outlet, try reversing
the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit,
contact a qualified electrician to replace the
obsolete outlet.
Do not attempt to defeat the safety purpose
of the polarized plug by modifying the plug
in any way.
The length of the cord used on this appli-
ance was selected to reduce the hazards
of becoming tangled in, or tripping over a
longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary an
approved extension cord may be used.
The electrical rating of the extension cord
must be equal to or greater than the rating of
the juice extractor. Care must be taken to
arrange the extension cord so that it will not
drape over the countertop or tabletop where
it can be pulled on by children or accidental-
ly tripped over.

Before First Use: After unpacking
the juice extractor, wash everything
except the base in warm, soapy
water. Rinse and dry immediately.
Never immerse the base in water;
wipe it with a damp sponge.
Important Information
• The juice extractor is manufactured for
NORMAL HOUSEHOLD USE. If you have
large quantities, such as 10 pounds or
more, process in small batches, allowing
motor to cool completely between uses.
• When juicing CARROTS, DO NOT PACK
food chute. Place carrots in food chute
one by one, and use gentle pressure.
•DO NOT OVERLOAD THE FOOD CHUTE.
For best results, simply drop food
pieces, one at a time, into chute.
Gently and slowly press with food
pusher. This will extract the maximum
amount of juice.
• If the juice extractor SEEMS TO STRUGGLE
or slow down, turn the unit OFF and
unplug. Thoroughly wash the cutter/
strainer according to instructions.
Reassemble and continue juicing.

How to Assemble and Use
Read and follow instructions in “Before First Use.”

1. Place pulp bowl on base with juice
spout at front as shown.
2. Place cutter/strainer into pulp bowl
and gently push until firmly in place.
Once in place, the cutter/strainer
should spin easily.
3. Place cover on top of pulp bowl
with food chute inside bowl.
4. Position the top of both safety
latches in place, then push in at
bottom to lock. Lock both sides.
DO NOT OPERATE UNIT UNTIL SAFETY
LATCHES ARE LOCKED.
5. Place a container in position under
the juice spout.
6. Cut food into pieces to fit the food
chute. See “Tips and Techniques.”
7. Plug cord into outlet.
8. Be sure a juice container is in place.
Push switch to turn on. The unit will
not turn on until safety latches have
been closed.
9. Select Low or High power. Use Low
for soft fruits and vegetables. Use
high for firm and leafy vegetables.
10. Place food in the food chute and
press lightly with food pusher. Never
use fingers or utensils other than the
food pusher as a food pusher. Food
should be placed in food chute only
when unit is operating. Food can be
continuously placed in food chute
until pulp bowl is full without having
to turn unit off .
NOTE: For best results, empty the
pulp bowl before it is completely full.
Check the pulp bowl frequently.
11. When pulp bowl is almost full, turn
unit off. For best performance,
empty pulp bowl and clean cutter/
strainer often.
12. When juicing is completed, or when
pulp bowl or juice container need to
be emptied, turn unit off and unplug
from outlet.
13. Unlock both safety latches by pulling
out bottom of latch. Immediately
wash cutter/strainer according to
instructions.

Caring and Cleaning
To prolong the life of the juice extractor, it is recommended that all washable parts
be washed immediately after each use.
The cutter/strainer is a very delicate screen not covered under the warranty. Do not
wash in an automatic dishwasher. If bent or damaged, do not use, as it could break
into small pieces and cause personal injury and/or damage the appliance. Call the
toll-free customer service number to order a new cutter/strainer. Replace cutter/
strainer when it shows signs of wear.
1. Turn OFF and unplug from electrical
outlet.
2. Unlock safety latches. Remove
cover. Remove cutter/strainer and
pulp bowl. Do not let food dry and
harden on the cutter/strainer. For
hard to remove particles, use a plastic
bristle brush or toothbrush.
3. USE CAUTION: The cutter/strainer
teeth are sharp. Handle carefully.
Wash the cutter/strainer in hot, soapy
water. Rinse then let dry.DO NOT
WASH the cutter/strainer in the
dishwasher.
4. Wash the food pusher, cover, and
pulp bowl, in hot, soapy water. Rinse,
dry, and reassemble for storage. The
juice spout is designed for easy
removal and reassembly if needed.
5. Some foods may stain plastic parts.
Make a paste of baking soda and
water and rub on stained area with
a damp cloth. Rinse and dry.
NOTE: Carrots will stain the unit
permanently.
6. Wipe outside of base with a damp
cloth. Never immerse base in water.
Juicing Tips and Techniques
Wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly. Remove pits, stones, and large seeds from
apricots, cherries, peaches, plums, etc. Peel thick-skinned fruits and vegetables such
as oranges, lemons, grapefruit, tangerines, watermelons, pineapples and winter
squash.
• Leafy vegetables, such as spinach,
should be processed in batches no
larger than 2 pounds. Stop the unit
and clean between batches to avoid
clogging the cutter/strainer and pulp
bowl.
• Juicing avocados or bananas produces
a puree rather than a juice.
• Form leafy vegetables into compact
balls or rolls before inserting into food
chute.
• One pound of raw produce usually
yields one cup (8 ounces) of juice.
• When working with large quantities of
fruits and vegetables, be sure to stop
unit to empty pulp bowl as it begins to
fill. The cutter/strainer should also be
cleaned regularly, as the extraction will
decrease considerably if it becomes
clogged.
• If you desire a clear juice, filter juice
through a strainer, layers of cheese-
cloth or a coffee filter. This will also
remove any foam which results during
juicing.
• To keep juices from discoloring during
storage, add a few teaspoons of lemon
juice or ascorbic acid powder.

• Serve juices immediately, as the flavor
and nutrient content decreases rapidly
when juices are stored. If it is necessary
to juice fruits and vegetables some
time before serving, cover container
tightly and refrigerate. Do not store
for more than 24 hours.
• The flavor, color, and consistency of
freshly juiced fruits will be different
from canned juices.
• Substitute fruit or vegetable juices for
stock or water in cooking.
• Some pulp remaining in juice is nor-
mal. It increases the juice’s flavor and
nutritional value.
• Potato juice can be used in place of
cornstarch or flour as a thickening
agent in gravies and soups.
• Vegetable juice mixed with carrot juice
will produce a sweeter vegetable flavor.
• Freeze vegetable pulp for use in
making soups.
• The softer the texture of a fruit or veg-
etable, the thicker the juice produced.
Apricots, peaches, pears, melons, and
strawberries are soft- textured fruits.
The juice that is extracted from these
fruits is very thick and is known as
nectar. It is best to combine these
juices with thinner juices, such as
carrot, apple, etc. Beet greens, parsley,
spinach, and watercress yield very rich
and thick juices. They are very strong-
flavored and taste best when combined
with other fruits and vegetables.

The following drink recipes yield a single serving of 6 to 10 ounces.
Red Tango

Juice lemon, blackberries and blueberries.
Place lemon, blackberry and blueberry
juice and remaining ingredient into a
blender. Blend until smooth.
Lemonade Syrup
6 lemons, peeled
11⁄2cups sugar
Juice lemons. Stir in sugar until dissolved.
To serve combine 1⁄4 cup syrup with 3⁄4cup
water. Makes 2 cups syrup.
Vegetable Cocktail
8 medium tomatoes
1 lemon, peeled
1 stalk celery
1 medium carrot
1 slice of onion
1 teaspoon Worcestershire
1⁄2teaspoon salt
Process fruit and vegetables. Stir in
seasonings. Makes 3 cups.
Hot Veggie Delight
2 broccoli flowerets with stalk
1⁄4green pepper

Tabasco sauce to taste
Juice broccoli and green pepper first,
then carrot, celery and tomato. Add
Tabasco sauce.
Rainbow Freeze
1⁄4fresh pineapple, peeled
1⁄2cup strawberries
3 scoops raspberry sherbet
Juice pineapple and strawberries. Place
pineapple and strawberry juice and
remaining ingredient into a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Orange Twist
1⁄4fresh pineapple, peeled
1⁄2cup blackberries
3 scoops orange sherbet
Juice pineapple and blackberries. Place
pineapple and blackberry juice and
remaining ingredient into a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Not Drinks
Strawberry Jelly
4 cups strawberry juice (approximately
3 quarts berries)
6 cups granulated sugar
1 bottle liquid pectin
Process strawberries in juice extractor.
Combine juice and sugar in 4 quart
utensil. Place on high heat and, stirring
constantly, bring to a full rolling boil
that cannot be stirred down. Add pectin
and heat again to a full rolling boil; boil
for 1 minute. Remove from heat, skim
off foam quickly. Ladle syrup into hot,
sterilized jars. Cover at once with 1⁄8inch
layer hot paraffin. Makes 8 to 9 eight-
ounce jars of jelly.
Green Pepper Relish
8 green peppers, seeded
3 medium onions, peeled
1⁄2cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
11⁄2cups white vinegar
1⁄2teaspoon celery salt
Process peppers and onions in juice
extractor. Combine juices and pulps in
saucepan. Bring to boiling point. Drain.
Add remaining ingredients; mix. Bring
to a boil and cook 10 minutes. Pack jars
and seal. Makes 3 pints.

Orange Muffins
21⁄4cups flour
1 cup sugar
3⁄4teaspoon baking powder
1⁄2teaspoon baking soda
1⁄2teaspoon salt
1⁄2cup butter
1 8-ounce plain yogurt
3 egg whites
Pulp of 2 oranges
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon
orange juice
Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking
soda and salt into a bowl. Cut in butter
until coarse. Stir in yogurt, egg whites,
orange pulp and orange juice until moist.
Pour into greased or paper-lined muffin
tins and bake at 350ºF for 20 to 25 minutes.
Apple Upside-Down Cake
3 tablespoons butter, melted
3⁄4cup brown sugar, packed
2 cups apple pulp
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1⁄2cup sugar
1 egg
1⁄2teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
11⁄2teaspoons baking powder
1⁄2teaspoon salt
1⁄4cup milk
Mix butter and brown sugar and flatten
across bottom of 8-inch round cake pan.
Spread apple pulp across brown sugar
crust; set aside. In a bowl, mix butter
and sugar until blended. Add egg and
vanilla; mix thoroughly. Add flour, bak-
ing powder, salt and milk; mix well. Pour
over apple pulp. Bake at 350ºF for 30
minutes. Invert cake onto a serving
plate. Serve hot and top with whipped
cream.
Carrot Cake
5 to 8 carrots, or enough to produce
11⁄2cups carrot pulp and 1⁄2cup
carrot juice
1 cup flour
11⁄2teaspoons baking powder
1⁄2teaspoon cinnamon
1⁄2teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
3⁄4cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla
1⁄2cup chopped nuts
Confectioners sugar
Preheat oven to 350°F. Process carrots in
juice extractor. Measure and set aside 11⁄2
cups pulp and 1⁄2cup juice. Mix flour,
baking powder, cinnamon, and salt
together, set aside. Combine eggs, sugar,
and oil in medium size bowl. Add flour
mixture alternately with pulp and carrot
juice. Add vanilla and chopped nuts; stir
to combine. Pour into well-greased 9-
inch baking pan; bake 35 to 40 minutes.
After cake cools sprinkle with confec-
tioners sugar.

SALVAGUARDIAS IMPORTANTES
¡GUARDE ESTAS INSTRUCCIONES!
Al usar aparatos eléctricos, se deben observar precauciones elementales de seguridad,
incluyendo las siguientes:
1. Lea todas las instrucciones.
2. Para protegerse en contra de descargas
eléctricas, no se debe sumergir el cordón,
enchufe ni la base del motor en el agua
u otro líquido.
3. Es necesario supervisar de cerca cuando
los niños usen o estén cerca de cualquier
aparato eléctrico.
4. Desconecte el cordón del tomacorriente
cuando no se esté usando, antes de insta-
lar o remover piezas y antes de limpiar el
aparato.
5. Evite el contacto con las piezas en
movimiento. Mantenga los dedos lejos
del canalón de alimentos.
6. Asegúrese de que la cubierta del extrac-
tor de jugo está bien fija en su lugar
antes de prender el motor. No destrabe
las aldabas de la cubierta mientras el
extractor está operando.
7. No opere nunca el extractor sin el
recipiente del bagazo en su lugar.
8. Asegúrese de apagar el extractor de jugo
después de cada uso. Asegúrese de que el
motor se ha detenido completamente
antes de desensamblarlo.
9. No ponga los dedos ni otros objetos
en el canalón de alimentos del extractor
al estar en operación. Nunca agregue los
alimentos con la mano – siempre utilice
un impulsor de alimentos. Si el alimento
se pega en la abertura, utilice un impul-
sor u otro pedazo de fruta overdura para

10. No opere ningún aparato si el cordón
o enchufe están dañados o después

revisar, reparar o ajustar el aparato.
11. El uso de accesorios no recomendados
por el fabricante del aparato puede
resultar en fuego, descarga eléctrica o
lesiones personales.
12. No se utilice a la intemperie.
13. No permita que el cordón cuelgue por el
borde de la mesa o mostrador, ni que
toque superficies calientes, incluyendo la
estufa.
14. No deje al extractor de jugo sin atender
al estar operando.
15. Las navajas son filosas; manéjelas con
cuidado.
16. No acerque el pelo, la ropa las joyas, las
espátulas ni demás utensilios al canalón
de alimentos durante la operación para

17. El cortador/colador es un cedazo muy
delicado que no está cubierto por la
garantía. No se lave en un lavatrastos
automático. No se use si se dobla o daña,
ya que puede romperse en pedazos
pequeños y causar lesiones personales
y/o daños al aparato. Llame a nuestro
número de atención al cliente sin cargo
para pedir un cortador/colador nuevo
cuando éste se desgaste.

Información de seguridad para el consumidor
Este aparato es para uso doméstico
solamente.
Para evitar una sobrecarga en el circuito
eléctrico, no use otro aparato de alto vataje
en el mismo circuito que el extractor de
jugo.
Este artefacto está equipado con un enchufe
polarizado. Este tipo de enchufe tiene una
hoja más ancha que la otra. El enchufe
encajará en un tomacorriente eléctrico en
un sólo sentido. Esta es una característica
de seguridad diseñada para reducir el riesgo
de choque eléctrico. Si usted no puede
introducir el enchufe en el tomacorriente,
pruebe invirtiendo la posición del enchufe.
Si aún así el enchufe no pudiese encajar,
póngase en contacto con un electricista
calificado para que reemplace el tomaco-
rriente obsoleto. No intente anular la
característica de seguridad del enchufe
polarizado modificando el enchufe.
El largo total del cordón que se utiliza con
este artefacto se eligió para reducir el riesgo
de enredarse o tropezarse con él que se
presentaría si fuera más largo. Si es necesario
un cable más largo, deberá utilizarse un
cable de extensión aprobado. La clasifi-
cación eléctrica nominal del cable de
extensión deberá ser igual o mayor que el
extractor de jugo. Se debe tener cuidado en
acomodar el cable de extensión de manera
que no cuelgue por el borde de la mesa o
mostrador y que los niños no puedan tirar
de él o tropezarse accidentalmente.

Para reducir el riesgo de daños personales y/o daños al extractor de jugos:
• Nunca lave el cortador/colador u otras partes desmontables en un lavatrastos.
• Siempre examine el cortador/colador antes de cada uso.

Antes del primer uso: Después de
desembalar el extractor de jugo,
lave todo, excepto la base, en agua
jabonosa tibia. Enjuague y seque
inmediatamente. No sumerja
nunca la base en el agua; límpiela
con una esponja húmeda.
Información importante
• El extractor de jugo está fabricado
para USO NORMAL DOMÉSTICO.
Si tiene cantidades grandes de
alimentos – 10 libras o más – que
desea procesar, hágalo en cantidades
más pequeñas, permitiendo que el
motor descanse entre cada uso.
• Al extraer jugo de ZANAHORIAS,
NO LLENE EL CANALÓN DE ALIMENTOS.
Ponga las zanahorias una por una en
el canalón, usando presión suave.
• NO SOBRECARGUE EL CANALÓN DE
ALIMENTOS. Para obtener mejores
resultados, simplemente deje caer los
pedazos de alimento, uno por uno, en
el canalón. Presione ligeramente con
el impulsor de alimentos. Esto
extraerá la máxima cantidad de jugo.
• Si el extractor de jugo PARECE TENER
DIFICULTAD o disminuye la velocidad,
apague y desconéctelo. Lave bien el
cortador/colador según las instruc-
ciones. Vuelva a ensamblar y siga
extrayendo.

Cómo ensamblar y usar
Lea y siga las instrucciones en “Antes del primer uso”.
1. Coloque el recipiente de bagazo en la
base con el pico para el jugo hacia
delante, como se muestra.
2. Coloque el cortador/colador en el
recipiente de bagazo y empuje ligera-
mente hasta que quede firme en su
lugar. Una vez en su lugar, el cortador/
colador deberá girar fácilmente.
3. Coloque la tapa encima del recipiente
de bagazo con el canalón de alimentos
dentro del recipiente.
4. Acomode la parte superior de ambas
aldabas de seguridad en su lugar, luego
empuje en la parte inferior para trabar.
Trabe ambos lados. NO OPERE LA
UNIDAD HASTA QUE LAS ALDABAS DE
SEGURIDAD ESTÉN TRABADAS.
5. Coloque un recipiente en su posición
debajo del pico para el jugo
6. Corte los alimentos en trozos para que
pasen por el canalón de alimentos. Vea
“Sugerencias y técnicas”.
7. Enchufe el cordón en un tomacorriente.
8. Asegúrese de colocar un recipiente de
jugo en su lugar. Presione el interruptor
para encender. La unidad no operará
hasta que las aldabas de seguridad han
sido cerradas.
9. Seleccione intensidad baja (Low) o alta
(High). Use intensidad baja para frutas y
verduras blandas. Use intensidad alta
para verduras firmes y con hojas grandes.
10. Coloque los alimentos en el canalón y
presione ligeramente con el impulsor
de alimentos. Nunca utilice los dedos o
utensilios otros que el impulsor para
impulsar los alimentos. Los alimentos
deben colocarse en el canalón sola-
mente cuando la unidad está
operando. Se pueden colocar continu-
amente los alimentos en el canalón
hasta que el recipiente de bagazo esté
lleno sin tener que apagar la unidad.
NOTA: Para mejores resultados vacíe el
recipiente de bagazo antes de que se
llene por completo. Verifique el recipi-
ente de bagazo a menudo.
11. Cuando el recipiente de bagazo está
casi lleno, apague la unidad. Para el
mejor rendimiento vacíe el recipiente
de bagazo y limpie el cortador/colador
a menudo.
12. Al terminar la extracción o cuando el
recipiente de bagazo o recipiente de
jugo necesiten vaciarse, apague la unidad
y desenchúfela del tomacorriente.
13. Destrabe ambas aldabas de seguridad
jalando la parte inferior de la aldaba.
Lave el cortador/colador inmediata-
mente según las instrucciones.

Cuidado y limpieza
Se recomienda lavar inmediatamente después del uso todas las piezas que se
pueden lavar a fin de prolongar la vida del extractor de jugo.
El cortador/colador es un cedazo muy fino que no cubre la garantía. No se lave
en el lavatrastos. No se use si se dobla o daña, ya que puede romperse en piezas
pequeñas que pueden causar lesiones personales y/o daños al aparato. Llame al
número telefónico sin cargo de atención al cliente para pedir un cortador/colador
nuevo cuando éste se desgaste.
1. Apague la unidad y desenchúfela del
tomacorriente.
2. Destrabe las aldabas de seguridad.
Retire la tapa. Retire el cortador/
colador y el recipiente de bagazo.
No permita que se incrusten los ali-
mentos secos en el cortador/colador.
Para remover las partículas endureci-
das, use un cepillo de cerdas de
plástico o un cepillo de dientes.
3. PRECAUCIÓN: Los dientes del
cortador/colador son filosos;
manéjelos con cuidado. Lave el
cortador/colador en agua jabonosa
caliente. Enjuague y deje secar.
NO LAVE el cortador/colador en
el lavatrastos.
4. Lave el impulsor de alimentos, la
cubierta y el recipiente de bagazo en
agua jabonosa caliente. Enjuague,
seque y vuelva a ensamblar para
guardar la unidad. El pico para el
jugo se ha diseñado para removerse y
ensamblarse de nuevo fácilmente, si
fuera necesario.
5. Algunos alimentos pueden manchar
las piezas de plástico. Haga una pasta
de bicarbonato y agua y unte en el
área manchada con una tela húmeda.
Enjuague y seque.
NOTA: Las zanahorias mancharán la
unidad permanentemente.
6. Limpie el exterior de la base con una
tela húmeda. Nunca sumerja la base
en agua.

Sugerencias y técnicas de
extracción
Lave bien las frutas y verduras. Quite los huesos y las semillas grandes de los albari-
coques, cerezas, duraznos, ciruelas, etc. Quite la cáscara a las frutas y vegetales de
cáscara gruesa – naranjas, limones, toronjas, mandarinas, sandías, piñas, calabazas
de invierno, etc.
• Verduras con hojas grandes, tales
como espinaca, deben procesarse en
lotes que no superen 2 libras. Apague
la unidad y límpiela entre lotes para
evitar que se obstruya el
cortador/colador y el recipiente de
bagazo.
• El uso del extractor con aguacates y
plátanos produce puré en vez de jugo.
• Forme los vegetales de grandes hojas
en bultos o rollos compactos antes de
insertarlos en el canalón de alimentos.
• Una libra de vegetales crudos produce
generalmente una taza (8 onzas) de
jugo.
• Al trabajar con cantidades grandes de
frutas y vegetales, asegúrese de detener
la unidad para vaciar el recipiente del
bagazo a medida que se llene. También
se debe limpiar el cortador/colador, ya
que de lo contrario disminuirá consid-
erablemente la extracción.
• Si desea jugo más claro, filtre el jugo
en un colador, una tela fina o en un
filtro de café. Eso también eliminará la
espuma que ha sido producto de la
extracción.
• Para que los jugos no se decoloren
cuando se guardan, agregue unas
cucharaditas de jugo de limón o polvo
de ácido ascórbico al guardarse.
• Sirva los jugos inmediatamente, ya que
el sabor y los nutrientes disminuyen
rápidamente al guardar los jugos. Si se
hace necesario extraer el jugo de las
frutas y vegetales cierto tiempo antes
de servirse, cubra bien el recipiente y
refrigere. No guarde el jugo más de 24
horas.
• El sabor, color y consistencia del jugo
de frutas frescas será distinto del jugo
enlatado.
• Use jugos de vegetales o fruta en lugar
de agua al cocinar.
• Es normal que quede algo de bagazo
en el jugo. Aumenta el sabor del jugo
así como el nivel nutritivo.
• Se puede usar el jugo de papas en
lugar de almidón de maíz o de harina
para espesar caldos y salsas.
• El jugo de vegetales mezclado con
jugo de zanahoria producirá un sabor
a vegetal más dulce.
• Congele el bagazo de los vegetales
para usarlo en caldos.
• Entre más suave sea la textura de una
fruta o vegetal, más espeso será su
jugo. Los albaricoques, duraznos,
peras, melones y fresas son frutas con
textura suave. El jugo extraído de estas
frutas es muy espeso y se conoce como
néctar. Es mejor combinar estos jugos
con los jugos menos espesos, como el
de zanahoria, manzana, etc. La remo-
lacha, perejil, espinacas y el berro
producen jugo muy rico y espeso.
Tiene un sabor muy intenso y saben
mejor cuando se combinan con otras
frutas y vegetales.
