Getting Started
To set up your CarDock FM Follow
Me please follow these steps:
• Select the correct dock adapter
to suit your iPod/iPhone and
connect it to the CarDock FM
Follow Me
N.B. The iPod/ iPhone model
is printed on the back of each
adapter, if necessary please use
the rubber insert for a better fit
• Carefully insert your iPod into
the holder
• Plug your CarDock FM Follow
Me into your car’s cigarette
lighter, a rubber washer has
been provided, if required for
a more secure fit
• The CarDock FM Follow Me will
automatically turn on, when there
is power provided to the cigarette
lighter
• Press sCAn - the CarDock FM
Follow Me will scan for the 5 best
frequencies in your area and save
them as pre-sets
• Tune your car radio to the
frequency displayed on the
screen of the CarDock FM
Follow Me
• Select a track and press play on
your iPod. The artist’s name will
be displayed on the CarDock FM
Follow Me and the track name

on your car radio*
• If you experience interference,
press or to skip to the
next pre-set. Your RDS radio will
then automatically retune to the
new frequency using Follow Me
technology. This may take up to
20 seconds, alternatively you can
press the sCAn button to rese-
lect the 5 clearest frequencies

Auto scan
When the CarDock FM Follow Me
is powered on, it can automatically
scan for the 5 clearest frequencies.
To turn auto scan on/off:
• Press and hold sCAn for
3 seconds
• Press sCAn to scroll
between the options
• Press or to turn the
function on or off
• Hold sCAn for 3 seconds
to exit

UNPACKING AND INSTALLATION
Unpack your unit carefully. We recommend
that you save the packaging in case you ever
need to store your unit. To avoid damage, never
place the unit or it’s batteries near radiators,
in front of heating vents, under direct sunlight
or near water

• Refer servicing to qualified personnel only
• To reduce risk of fire or electric shock, do
not expose the appliance to rain or moisture
• Do not open the housing
• Only use GEAR4 approved accessories
• Keep the FM transmitter out of reach from
small children
• Do not operate the FM transmitter whilst
driving
NB: Set your desired frequency prior to
starting your journey
• GEAR4 does not assume any responsibility

incurred due to hazardous driving as a result
of of interaction with our products
DISCLAIMER
• In order for the Follow Me function to work,
your car radio must feature RDS technology
and AF technology; this information can be
found on either your car stereo or in your
audio guide
• Please ensure that your iPod / iPhone is
using the latest software version. To update
the software, connect your iPod to iTunes.If
there is a newer software version available
you will be prompted to upgrade
• In areas where there are few available
frequencies, the Follow Me feature may not
work due to higher signal interference
• Some cars will only provide power to the
cigarette lighter when the engine is running

• Prevent exposing the FM transmitter to
high temperatures (above 60°C). Protect it
from direct sunlight and keep it away from
sources of heat

Pour installer votre système
CarDock FM Follow Me, procédez
comme suit:
• Sélectionnez l’adaptateur
correct pour votre iPod/iPhone
et connectez-le au CarDock FM
Follow Me
Remarque: le modèle de votre
iPod/ iPhone est imprimé au dos
de chaque adaptateur.
Si nécessaire, utilisez les
inserts en caoutchouc pour
une meilleure tenue
• Insérez doucement votre iPod
dans le support
• Branchez le CarDock FM Follow
Me dans l’allume-cigare de
votre véhicule. Une rondelle en

s’allume automatiquement,

immédiatement pour adopter

à la technologie Follow Me.
Cette opération peut prendre
une vingtaine de secondes.
Vous pouvez également appuyer

fréquences

Auto scan
Lorsque le système CarDock FM
Follow Me s’allume, il recherche
automatiquement les 5 fréquences
les plus claires. Pour éteindre ou
allumer l’auto scan :
• Maintenez enfoncée la touche
sCAn pendant trois secondes
• Appuyez sur sCAn pour faire
défiler les options
• Appuyez sur ou pour activer
ou désactiver la fonction
• Maintenez enfoncée la touche
sCAn pendant trois secondes
pour quitter

DÉCHARGE
• Pour que la fonction Follow Me puisse
fonctionner, votre radio doit être équipée des
technologies RDS et AF ; ces informations
se trouvent dans le guide de votre radio ou
de votre véhicule
• Veuillez vérifier que votre iPod / iPhone
utilise la dernière version logicielle. Pour
mettre le logiciel à jour, connectez votre
iPod à iTunes. Si une nouvelle version est
disponible, le système vous invitera
à actualiser
• Dans les zones où les fréquences dis-
ponibles sont peu nombreuses, la fonction
Follow Me risque d’être désactivée du fait
de l’interférence plus importante de signaux
• Certains véhicules n’alimentent l’allume-
cigare que lorsque le moteur tourne
DÉBALLAGE ET INSTALLATION
Déballer l’appareil avec soin. Nous recom-
mandons de conserver l’emballage, pour tout
stockage prolongé éventuel de l’appareil. Pour
éviter tout endommagement, ne jamais placer
l’appareil ou ses batteries près d’un radiateur,
près d’une bouche d’aération, sur un rebord
de fenêtre exposé au soleil ni près d’une
source d’eau
