3.Gettingstarted:
zPlugthepoweradaptorintothewallsocketandinto
thebackofyourclockin(B4)
zOpenthebatterycompartment(C3).
zInsert3xAAsizealkalinebatteriesobservingpolarity
[“+”and“–“marks].Youshouldherea“click”sound,it
indicatesthatyouhaveplacedthebatteriescorrectly.
zReplacethebatterycompartmentcover.
zThebatteriesareonlyusedincaseofpowerfailure.
zYoucanselectthelevelofbrightnessofthebacklightby
placingyourhandonthebacklightsensor(C1).Thereare
fourlevels(High,middle,lowandOFF).
InNIGHTmode,thebrightnessissetonLOWandthe
HIpositioncan’tbeselected.
4.Setting
4.1Automaticclocksetting
zWhenyouconnectyourpoweradaptorortheAlkaline
batteries,yourclockasksyoutoselectyourlanguage.
Youhavethechoicebetweenthefollowing14languages:
English,Français,Deutsch,Nederlands,Italiano,Espanol,
Portugues,Swenska,Norsk,Dansk,Suomi,Polski,Ceska
andMagyar.
zPressthe“▼”(B3)or“▲”(B2)buttontochooseyour
languageandthenpresstheSET(B1)button
zPressthe“▼”(B3)or“▲”(B2)buttontochooseyour
typeofdisplayandthenpresstheSET(B1)buttonto
exit.
Youcanchoosebetweenfourtypesofdisplay(seepictures)
a)DP1:Day+Periodoftheday+Time
b)DP2:Day+Date+Time
c)DP3:Day+Date+Year
d)DP4:Inthismode,youcanselectboth(DP1,DP2or
DP3)mode,theclockwillthenswitchbetweenthethird.
Bydefault,theswitchwillhappenevery5secondsbut
youhavethepossibilitytoincreasethetimeperiod
betweentwoswitches(upto60seconds).
zAfterhavingsetthelanguageandthetypeofdisplay,
theclockautomaticallystartstoscanfortheDCFtime
signal.TheRadioControlIcon“”(A2)willthen
appearonthescreen.
(A2)flashesIndicatesthattheclockisnow
receivingtheDCFsignal
(A2)stayson Indicatesthesignalhas
successfullybeenreceived
(A2)disappears Indicatesthereceptionofthe
signalhasfailed
zTheclockautomaticallysynchronizeswiththeDCFradio
signaleverydayat3.00amtomaintainaccuratetime
keeping.IfsynchronizationwiththeDCFradiosignal
fails,the“”iconwilldisappearfromthescreen.The
clockwillthenreattempttosynchronizewiththeDCF
radiosignalat4.00and5.00am.
zYoucanmaketheclockscanfortheradiosignalbyholding
the“▼”button(B3)for3seconds.Eachattemptsat
gettingthesignaltakesseveralminutes.Ifthereception
fails,thescanningstopsmomentarily(the“”icon
disappears)andthenstartsagainonthenextclockhour.
E.g.ifreceptionfailedat8:20a.m.theclockwillscan
againforthesignalat9:00a.m.
zTostopthescanningfortheDCFradiosignal,holdthe
“▼”button(B3)for3seconds.
