1. General description
GM8802F-2 field mounting transmitters are an innovative value-adding solution for batching
and weight monitoring applications where many channels ofA/D are needed.
The instrument has multiple channels of independentA/D bundled flawlessly in an IP66 case,
allowing it to perform under the worst industrial environments and offering the best value for
the same high quality and advanced filtering.
For any application with outdoor settings, the control panel is considerable distance from the
site. So instead of being placed in the indoor control panel, The robust casing allows the
transmitter to be placed in the industrial site (close to loadcell), dramatically reducing the
amount of shielded analogue line needed and creating significant savings on the project’s
bottom-line.
Key Features:
CEApproved
IP65 casing allows performance in the worst industrial environment
Used in systems with PLC/PC
Powerful 32 bits ARM technology CPU makes it exceptional precise and responsive.
2 independent channels of A/D bundled flawlessly together
Patent pending two-layer advanced digital filtering algorithm
24 bit Sigma-DeltaA/D conversion with 8 Million counts internal resolution
Front panel mounting
Advanced power electronics power supply 18-36V DC

3 Theory instructions
3.1 Initialization
When power on, the POWER light is bright, and then other lights sparkle three times.
After testing lights, GM8802F-2 initializes all of parts. When finished, the related Adx(x
=1,2)light is bright. If not light, the AD hasn’t finished initialization. Please restart again. If
still not light, it means the parts have been damaged. Special messages warn initialization
failed in reading weight by serial port communication.
Once AD finished initialization, GM8802F-2 begins to collect data after 2 seconds.
3.2 Collecting weighing data
Normal
Every AD collects weighing data respectively at high speed and related lights sparkle
fleetly, which means AD convert in normal state.
Problem
1)If the light is still not bright, message indicates the AD hasn’t finished initialization,
please restart again. If the problem is same, please check main board to see whether
there are burs on main board or not, clear them first and restart again. If always same
problem, maybe AD has been damaged, please change new one.
2)If the light is always bright, the AD has been forbided.
3) OFL(-OFL):Indicate the weight is too heavy (or too light), then need unload (or add)
the weight. But if always OFL(-OFL), please read present millivolt to see whether
overflow or not. If not, please calibrate again. If yes, please check load cell
connection or damaged.

5 Serial port communications
5.1 Parameters
Default address is 01;default parameters are:baud rate 38400、data format 1-7-E-1、
communication protocol GM-SP1.
When user connects more GM8802F-2 by RS485 communication, user should configure
different address at first, but for RS232 communication, no need define, use default address
01.
When default parameters can’t meet requirement, user should configure serial port
communication parameters.
Please refer 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 to configure address and parameters by dip switches:
5.1.1 Configuring address
GM8802F-4 have six dip switches(D1-D6), which near digital number define 0 and near
“ON”define 1. D1-D5 configure address as following table:
D1 D2 D3 D4 D5 Address
0 0 0 0 0 01
0 0 0 0 1 02
0 0 0 1 0 03
….. ….. ….. ….. ….. …..
1 1 1 1 1 32
Address arithmetic:Convert binary system related present dip switch digits to
decimal system, and then add 1 to get address.
For example,convert present 0110(binary system)13
(decimal system), and then the address is:13+1=14
Note:User need restart power after configuring address by dip switchs.

GM8802-F2110101 11
5.1.2 Configuring parameters
Please dial dip switch D6 from 0(normal)to 1(defining)
to configure parameters as left drawing.
Note:User need restart power after dip switch D6 changed.
After that, user can define parameters, such as baud rate, data format, communication
protocols and so on;when finished, user need dial dip switch D6 to 0(normal)and restart
power, so GM8802F-2 begin to communicate data with host computer by update parameters.
Define parameters as following fixed protocol:
