Congratulations and thank you for purchasing the
DISTA T300 pedometer. This multi-function
product will enable you to monitor your
training. It measures the number of steps you
take and computes the distance you cover, the
number of calories you consume and how long you
exercise. It uses 2 stride lengths to automatically
adapt to your activity (walking or running). For the
distance calculated to be accurate, the procedures for
setting stride length must be followed precisely. Read
the owner's manual carefully before use and keep it for
the whole lifetime of the product.
This pedometer is compatible with the Géonaute R300
radio. These two products clip together to form a
single unit, so you can gauge your activity level
(walking or running) while listening to FM stations.

Setting the pedometer
To use the distance counter, you must set the step length beforehand.
The more precisely you measure your step length, the more reliable
the distance counter will be.
To do so:
- Count the number of steps that you take (NP) to go a known distance
(L), 10 or 20 meters, for example.
- Divide this distance by the number of steps (NP). The result will be
your step length: LP = L/NP
Example: 13 steps to go 10 meters or 1,000 cm: your step length is
1,000/13= 75 cm
This device features an automatic walk/run mode. It automatically detects
your stride mode and adapts its calculating principle accordingly.

It is therefore necessary to set a stride length for walking, symbolized
by a walker icon on the right-hand side of the screen, and a stride
length for running (runner icon).
To calculate the number of calories consumed, you have to enter
your weight.
To set the pedometer:

- Press on the SET button for 2 seconds. The weight unit display will
flash. Select kg or lb using the RESET button.
- Confirm the setting by pressing on the MODE button. The weight

unit display will flash. Select cm or inch using the RESETbutton. The
distance covered will be displayed either in km or in miles.
- Confirm the setting by pressing on the MODE button. The display
for walking stride length will flash. Set the calculated value using the
RESET button.
- Confirm the setting by pressing on the MODE button. The display
for running stride length will flash. Set the calculated value using the
RESET button.
- Press on the SET button to finish the setting.

Navigation system
Press on the MODE button to display the different modes:
1. HOUR: 12/24 hour clock, date
2. STEP: Step counter, number of steps, distance covered, calories
consumed and exercise stopwatch
3. TO STEP: total number of steps and total distance covered
4. ALARM: daily alarm
Using the STEP mode
Once it is properly fastened to your belt, the pedometer counts each
step you take, from the very first step of walking or running.
Display the data from the different modes:
In the STEP mode, the top line displays the number of steps taken.
The bottom line displays either the time passed (stopwatch), or the
distance covered in km or miles, or the number of calories consumed.
Press on the SET button to switch from one display to another.
Stopwatch:
The exercise stopwatch activates automatically when you take your first
step. There is no need to activate it with a button. It stops automatically
as soon as it detects immobility for a few seconds.
Automatic walk / run mode:
The pedometer automatically identifies your activity: either walking or
running.
It then uses the corresponding stride length (step length for walking or step
length for running) in order to calculate the distance covered.
Thanks to this function, when you alternate between running and walking
during the same fitness activity, you can be sure that the distance displayed
is correct.
If you do not wish to use this function because you only use your
pedometer for walking or only for running, you can enter the same stride

length in the settings for both activity modes. The distance will thus be
calculated with a single step length.
While you are walking, a walker icon is displayed on the right-hand side
of the screen and your stride length for walking is used to calculate the
distance.
While you are running, a runner icon is displayed on the right-hand side
of the screen and your stride length for running is used to calculate the
distance.
Reset to zero:
To reset all the functions of the STEP mode, press on the RESET button
for 2 seconds.
Using the TO STEP mode
The TO STEP mode displays the total number of steps and the total
distance covered over several fitness activities. This function enables
you, for example, to know the distance covered over a week, a
month or a year. As long as this function has not been reset, the data
accumulates.
To indicate that you are in the TO STEP mode, TOTAL is displayed
in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.
Press on the RESET button to reset these two counters
