Expansion cards contain very delicate Integrated Circuit (IC) chips. To
protectthemagainstdamagefromstaticelectricity,youshouldfollowsome
precautions whenever you work on your computer.
1.Turn off yourcomputer and unplugpowersupply.
2.Useagroundedwriststrapbeforehandlingcomputercomponents.Ifyoudonothave
one,touchbothofyourhandstoasafelygroundedobjectortoametalobject,suchas
thepowersupplycase.
3.Place components on a grounded antistatic pad or on the bag that came with the
componentswheneverthecomponentsareseparatedfromthesystem.
Thecardcontainssensitiveelectriccomponents,whichcanbeeasilydamagedbystatic
electricity,sothecardshouldbeleftinitsoriginalpackinguntilitisinstalled.
Unpackingandinstallationshouldbedoneonagroundedanti-staticmat.Theoperator
shouldbewearingananti-staticwristband,groundedatthesamepointastheanti-static
mat.
Inspectthecardcartonforobviousdamage.Shippingandhandlingmaycausedamage
toyour card. Be surethere are no shippingand handling damages onthe card before
proceeding.
DO NOTAPPLY POWER TO YOUR SYSTEM IF IT HAS BEEN DAMAGED ON
THE CARD.
In order to ensure your graphics card working correctly, please use official
Gigabyte BIOS only. Use none official Gigabyte BIOS might cause problem
on the graphics card.

2.2. Hardware Installation
InstallingYourGraphicsCard.
Nowthatyouhavepreparedyourcomputer,youarereadytoinstallyourgraphicsaccelerator
card.
To remove the existing graphics card:
1. Power off the computer and monitor, then
disconnectthedisplaycablefromtheback
ofyourcomputer.
2. Removethecomputercover.Ifnecessary,
consultyourcomputer'smanualforhelpin
removingthecover.
3. Remove any existing graphics card from
yourcomputer.
Or, if your computer has any on-board
graphicscapability,youmayneedtodisable
itonthemotherboard.Formoreinformation,
seeyourcomputerdocumentation.

Youarenowready toproceedwiththeinstallationofthegraphicscard driver.Fordetailed
instructions,selectyouroperatingsystemfromthelistbelow.
To install your new graphics card:
1. LocatetheAGPslot. Ifnecessary, remove
themetalcoverfromthisslot;thenalignyour
graphicscardwiththeAGPslot,andpressit
infirmlyuntilthecardisfullyseated.
2. Replacethescrewtofastenthecardinplace,
andreplacethecomputercover.

turnonthecomputerandmonitor.Toconnecta
D-Submonitor to your graphicscard, use the

3. Software Installation
In this manual, we assume that your CD-ROM Drive letter to be Drive D:
TheinstallationofWindows®2000/Windows®XPdriversisverysimple.Whenyouinsertthe
driverCDintoyourCD-ROMdrive,youcanseetheAUTORUNwindow(ifitdoesnotshow
up,run"D:\setup.exe").Thenyoucanfollowtheguidestosetupyourgraphicscarddriver.
(Pleasefollowthesubsection3.1.3"Driverinstallation"toinstallthedriverforyourgraphics
accelerator.)
3.1. Windows®XP Driver and Utilities Installation
3.1.1. Operating System Requirement
•Whenloadingthegraphicscarddriversforthesystem,pleasemakesureyoursystem
hasinstalledDirectX9or laterversion.
•Ifyouinstallthegraphicscarddriversforthemotherboard,whichconsistofSISorVIA
chipsets,pleaseinstalltheappropriatedriverprogramforthatmotherboard.Orplease
contactyourmotherboardnearest dealerformotherboarddriver.

Click "Next" button.

InstallMicrosoftDirectXtoenable3DhardwareaccelerationsupportforWindows®2000or
Windows®XPtoachievebetter3Dperformance.
0Note:ForsoftwareMPEGsupportinWindows®2000orWindows®XP,youmustinstall
DirectXfirst.UserswhorunWindowsXPwithService Pack2orabovedo notneedto
installDirectXseparately.

A. New hardware found
After the graphics card is inserted into your computer at the first time, the windows will
automaticallydetecta newhardwarein thesystemandpopouta"New HardwareFound"
message.Thefollowingisthestep-by-stepinstallationguide.
Step 1: Found new hardware wizard: Video controller (VGA Compatible)
Step 2: Found new hardware wizard: Searching and installing
Thewizardwillsearchforthedriverandinstallitautomatically.
Step 3: Found new hardware wizard: Finish
Clickthe"Finish"buttontofinishtheinstallation.
ClicktheNextbuttontoinstallthedriver.(Thereis
a driver CD disk that came with your graphics
accelerator,pleaseinsertitnow.)
OrclicktheCancelbuttontoinstallthedriverfrom
AUTORUN window.

B. Driver installation (Autorun Window)
InsertthedriverCDdiskintoyourCD-ROM,andthenyoucanseetheAUTORUNwindow.
Ifitdoes notshowup, pleaserun"D:\setup.exe".
Step 1. When autorun window show up,
click Install Display Driver item.
Step 2. Click the "Next" button.
Step3. Clickthe"Finish"buttonandrestart
computer.Thenthedriverinstallationis
completed.

Afterinstallationofthedisplaydrivers,youwillfindaGIGABYTEicon inthesystemtray.
Right-clickingthisiconopenstheGIGABYTEcontrolpanel,whichshowsamenucomposed
ofshortcutofthegraphicscard'senhancedandotherfunctions.
YoumayselecttheDisplayPropertiesitem,andthenclickSettings.ClickAdvancedafter
clickingSettings. Clicktheappropriatetab tochangeyourdisplay settings.
Rightclicktheicon.
YoucanlinktoGIGABYTEwebsiteforupdatedinformationaboutthe
graphicsaccelerator,latestdrivers,andotherinformation.
Click the VGA Information
item into the "VGA Info" and
"ColorAdjust"tabs.

Color Adjust
Color Adjust allows you to make color adjustments, such as brightness, contrast and
gammavaluesforeachorall ofRGBcolors.

3.1.5. Display Properties pages
ToaccessDisplayPropertiespages,right-clicktheGIGABYTEiconinyoursystemtrayand
selectDisplayPropertiesorright-clickonDesktopandthenselectProperties.TheDisplay
Propertiesdialogboxshowstheinformationofdisplayadapter,color,therangeofdisplay
area,and therefresh rate.
Settings (Resolutions and Color depth for Windows)
Youmayadjustthescreenresolutionandcolorqualitysettingsinthisdialogbox.
Youcanselectotherpropertiesfromthepop-outmenu.
GeForce 6200 properties
Toaccessmoreadvancedoptions,clicktheAdvanced button.
After pressing the Advanced button in Settings, you'll see Plug and Play Monitor and NVIDIA
GeForce 6200 Properties dialog box. Click the GeForce 6200 tab. (You can also click the Nvidia
iconinthesystemtrayandselect Nvidia Display toaccesstheGeForce 6200propertiespage.)

• nViewDisplay mode: selectyour preferred nView display
modeshere. Options:Single display/Dualview
• Primary/Secondarydisplay: select a single display or
displaypair.Theselecteddisplaycombinationwillappear
inthegraphicalrepresentationbelow.
• Makethistheprimarydisplay: Specifies thatthedisplay
correspondingtotheiconyouselectedaboveisthe
primarydisplay.
nView Display Settings properties
• ClickApplytoapplysettingsorclickOKtosavesettings.
If TV is chosen as the display, you will need to select
the proper TV format. To do this, click "Device Setting"
followedby "Select TVformat". Select the formatfor your
television and then click "Apply" followed by "OK".

Dualviewmodeindicatesthatbothdisplaysinthe
displaypairfunctionasonevirtualdesktop.Unlike
HorizontalSpanorVerticalSpanmode,Dualview
treats each display as a separate device. This
meansthatthetaskbarwillnotbestretchedacross
displaysand3Dapplicationsarenotaccelerated
as efficiently as when the application spans
displays.

Color Correction properties
The Color Correction Properties isused tocompensation
for variations in luminance between a source image and its
outputonadisplaydevice.Adjustthecolorcorrectionsettings
toprovidemoreaccuratecolorreproductionofimages(suchas
photographs) on your display device. Also, many 3D-
acceleratedgames mayappear too darkto play. Increasing
the brightness and/or the gamma value equally across all
channels makes these games appear brighter and more
playable.
Video Overlay Settings properties
The VideoOverlay Settings Properties canadjustOverlay
zoomcontrols andOverlay color controls. There isonly one
videooverlay,whichisonlyavailableonthePrimarydisplay.
Thevideooverlaycontrolsareautomaticallyactivatedduring
playback of any video file type that supports overlay
adjustments. The "Adjust Colors" button will access "Color
Correction"propertiespage.
Performance and Quality Settings properties
Theslidersletstodecidewhetheryourapplicationshoulduse
qualityorhighperformancetexture.
• Applicationprofiles:Selecttheapplicationprofilefromthelist
ofprofiles.
• GlobalDriverSettings:SelecttheSettingsitem and move
thesliderbelowtosetthedegreeofantialiasingtousedin
Direct3DandOpenGLapplications.
• Antialiasingsettings:allowstosetthedegreeoftheGlobal
DriverSettings.

NV Rotate properties
TheNVRotatePropertiesisusedtorotatethescreen.Ifyour
monitoriscapableofoperatingineitherLandscapeorPortrait
mode,youcanadjustthescreenbythisproperties.
• Landscape(0degreerotation)
• Portrait(90degreerotation)
• InvertedLandscape(180degreerotation)
• InvertedPortrait(270degreerotation)
Temperature Settings properties
The Temperature Properties can auto detected the GPU
coretemperature.Youcanselectthe NotifywhenGPUcore
temperature exceeds threshold check box.
Tools properties
TheNVIDIAsettingstaskbarutilityletsyouconvenientlyaccess
variousfeaturesandpresetsyou'veconfiguredintheDisplay
PropertiesdirectlyfromtheWindowstaskbar.
• Shortcuttools:
EnablingtheseoptionswillgiveyouquickaccesstoNVIDIA
features.
• DisplayOptimization:
RuntheDisplayOptimizationWizardtoadjustyour
display(s)foroptimalviewingandrepresentationofcolors.
• Troubleshooting:
If you have a TV connected and it is not being detected,
selectthecheck boxbelow.
