Expansion cardscontainverydelicateIntegrated Circuit(IC)chips.Toprotectthemagainst
damage fromstaticelectricity,you shouldfollowsomeprecautionswheneveryou workon your
computer.
1.Turnoff yourcomputerand unplug powersupply.
2.Useagrounded wriststrap beforehandling computercomponents.If you do nothaveone,
touchbothofyourhandstoasafelygrounded objectortoametalobject, suchasthe power
supplycase.
3.Placecomponentson agrounded antistaticpad oron the bag thatcamewiththe
componentswheneverthe componentsareseparated fromthe system.
The cardcontainssensitiveelectriccomponents,whichcan be easilydamaged bystatic
electricity,sothe cardshouldbe left initsoriginalpacking until itisinstalled.
Unpacking and installation shouldbe done on agrounded anti-staticmat. The operatorshould
be wearing an anti-staticwristband,grounded atthe samepointasthe anti-staticmat.
Inspectthe cardcarton forobviousdamage.Shipping and handling maycausedamage toyour
card.Besurethereareno shipping and handling damageson the cardbeforeproceeding.

Installing YourGraphics card..
Nowthatyou haveprepared yourcomputer,you arereadytoinstall yourgraphics accelerator
card.
To install yourgraphics acceleratorcard:
1.Poweroff the computerand monitor,then
disconnectthe displaycablefromthe back of
yourcomputer.
2.Removethe computercover.If necessary,
consultyourcomputer'smanualforhelpin
removing the cover.
3.Removeanyexisting graphics cardfromyour
computer.
Or,ifyourcomputerhasanyon-board
graphics capability,you mayneed todisableit
on the motherboard.Formoreinformation,
see you computerdocumentation.

4.Locatethe AGPslot. If necessary,
removethe metalcoverfromthisslot;
then align yourGraphics cardwiththe
AGPslot, and press itinfirmlyuntil the
cardisfullyeated.

The installation ofWindows98/98SE orWindowsMEorWindowsXP driversisverysimple.
When you insertthe driverCD intoyourCD-ROMdrive,you can see the AUTORUN window(ifit
doesnotshowup,run "D:\setup.exe").Then you can followguidestosetup yourGV-R7500L
driver(Pleasefollowthe subsection 3.1.3"Step ByStep Installation"toinstall the driverforyour
graphics accelerator.
3.1.1.Operatingsystemrequirement
lIf yourOSisMicrosoft Windows,when loading the GV-R7500Ldriversforthe
system,pleasemakesureyoursystem(Windows98/98SE orWindowsME)has
installed DirectX8.1orlater.
lIf you install the GV-R7500Ldriversforthe mainboard,which
consistofSIS,ALIorVIAchipsets,pleaseinstall the appropriateDriverprogramfor
thatmainboard.OrpleasecontactyourmotherboardnearestdealerforM/BDiver.

Install Microsoft DirectX8.1toenable3Dhardwareacceleration supportforWin98/98SE/MEto
achievebetter3Dperformence.
Note:ForsoftwareMPEGsupportinWin98/98SE orWinME,you mustDirectXfirstinstall.
MMustbe install DirectX8.1(orlater)
1.Installation DirectXDriver
Click "Install DirectX8.1”Item.
2.Click "Yes"icon.

The following isthe step-by-step installation guide.

Atthistime,systemwill ask foryourWindowsCD inordertocompletethe VGAdriver
installation.
If you don'thavethe CD,you can press C:\Windows\Systemdirectory.
Step4:SystemSetting Change
1.Click "Next“icon.
2.Click "Finish“icon.
MDon’tclick “Cancel”,because
the systemwill hang ifyou press it.
Step2:UpdateDev ice DriverWizard:StandardPCIGraphics Adapter(VGA)
Step1:NewHardwareFound
AfterGV-R7500Lisinserted intoyourcomputeratthe firsttime,the windowswill automatically
detectanewhardwareinthe systemand pop outa"NewHardwareFound"message.Please
select"Donotinstall adriver"and press OK.

Afterthe systemhasfinished loading,insertthe GV-R7500L driverCD disk intoyourCD-ROM,
and then you can see the AUTORUN window.If itdoesnotshowup,pleaserun "D:\setup.exe".

7500 Series).
2.Click"Next".

Singlemonitorwindows-When hisboxischecked,windowsaresized no largerthan asingle

HydraVision Maxbutton management-Allowsyou tocontrolthe behaviorofthe Windows
Maximizebutton.When HydraVision isrunning,aHydraVision Max/Restorebutton appearsinthe
upper-rightcornerofan application titlebar.Clicking thisbutton makesthe activewindow
maximizeinone oftwoways:
Maxtowindowcornerscauseswindowstomaximizetothe monitor(s)thatcontainthe window's
upper-left and lower-rightcorners.
Maxtofull desktop causeswindowstomaximizetothe entiremonitorarray.
Maxchildwindows-Keepswindowsgenerated byparentapplicationsfromsplitting across
monitors.The abilitytokeep childwindowson asinglemonitorwhen maximized isextremely
usefulforediting multipledocumentsside-by-side inaparentapplication.
The HydraVision application titlebarbutton changesfromasinglesquaretotwosmallersquares
when awindowisinaHydraVision maximized state.Clicking the button againrestoresthe active
windowtoitsdefaultstateasasinglesquare.
General
Application position memory-Check thisboxto"remember"the sizeand location ofapplication
windowswhen theyareclosed and re-applythosesettingswhen the application isre-opened.
Automaticallyalign monitors-You can manuallydefine monitorplacementfromthe Settings
dialog inthe DisplayPropertiesdialog box.When thisboxischecked,HydraVision will override
user-defined monitorplacementifthe monitorsarenotevenlyaligned.
Thiscontrolwill workonlyifall monitorsarerunning atthe sameresolution and yourdesktop is
configured asarectangle.
RemoveHydraVision titlebarbuttons-Thisboxremovesorrestoresthe ATItitlebarbuttonsfrom
all applications.
RemoveMultiDesk systemtrayicon -Thisboxremovesorrestoresthe MultiDesk sy stemtray
icon.
ATILogo -Click heretoaccess the Aboutdialog whichprovidessoftwareversion information and
alinktothe ATITechnologieswebsite.
