#2 SETTING UP YOUR GLIDECAM LOW
MODE FX PACKAGE
The LOW MODE CAMERA HANDLE CLAMP is used
to invert the camera on the top of the XR-2000, XR-
4000, HD-2000, and HD-4000 so that when inverted,
the camera ends up correctly oriented. When shooting
in the low mode setup you are in essence shooting with
the hand-held stabilizer turned upside down with the
camera low near the ground and the base platform up
by your head.
First attach your LOW MODE HANDLE CLAMP to your camera before you attach the head plate
of your hand-held stabilizer to the LOW MODE HANDLE CLAMP.
Place the camera on level ground or a at surface before attaching the LOW MODE HANDLE
CLAMP. Now nd the cameras center of gravity. Once you have found the center of gravity of the
camera, handle clamp the LOW MODE HANDLE CLAMP so that the center of gravity is centered
on the camera. Use the included adhesive foam strips between the camera handle and the LOW
MODE HANDLE CLAMP. Securely fasten the LOW MODE HANDLE CLAMP to the cameras
handle ensuring a snug t, but DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN Now fasten the top of the LOW MODE
HANDLE CLAMP to the CAMERA MOUNTING PLATE.

When using two extension posts with your 2000 or 4000 Pro, you must rst remove the existing
telescoping post from the base platform of the 2000 or 4000 Pro and replace it with the longer
telescoping extension post. Now add the top extension post to the top of the 2000 or 4000 Pro.
You will rst need to insert the 3” threaded connection screw into the top of the 2000 or 4000 Pro.
Then place the included washed over the threaded connection screw and securely fasten the top
telescoping post to it, ensuring a tight t.
The CAMERA and LOW MODE HANDLE CLAMP can now be attached to your 2000 or 4000 Pro
and inverted for LOW MODE operation.
Now that you have your CAMERA and LOW MODE HANDLE CLAMP attached securely and
properly to your hand-held stabilizer you can now pick up the whole hand-held stabilizer LOW
MODE setup and balance as per the instruction in the Glidecam XR-Series and Glidecam HD-
Series Setup and Operations guides.
If you attach an LCD MONITOR to the hand-held stabilizer you will want the MONITOR to be
upside down so that when the hand-held stabilizer is later inverted the MONITOR will be right
side up.

#4 PROFESSIONAL USAGE
If you are using the Glidecam Low Mode FX Package to shoot professional looking shots,
and you plan on incorporating them into a short movie or some sort of commercial project, we
suggest that you plan the shot out in advance, perhaps rehearse the move a few times before
shooting, and that you use an assistant to help you during complex shots. This will give you
optimum results and will make your movies look more professional.
Good luck with your shooting.
