Initial Activation
Before using the Glowdoggie®Leuchtie® Easy Charge for the first time you will need to remove the
red battery cap that is located inside the battery pack, on the side furthest from the silver
“Glowdoggie” label ring. You will find an information sticker label taped on this side for your conven-
ience, which you can remove once you have completed the activation.
Opening:
1. Separate the LED tube from the battery pack by
gently nudging them apart with a slight angular
movement, taking care not to use excessive
force (1). In doing so, hold down on the
silicone sleeve on the battery pack, not the LED
tubing. Once the initial release is made, release
the pressure slightly and gently wiggle out the
end of LED tubing.
2. Remove the red insulation cap (2) and discard
or keep in the welcome pack.
Closing:
3. Insert the LED tube straight into the battery
pack. Make sure that the contact spring at
the end of the LED tubing goes in straight
and is not bent over in any way. This is very
important. If the spring is bend over it could
lead to the battery pack overheating immedi-
ately after activation. If this happens, remove
the battery pack and try again.
4. Press the tubing and battery pack firmly togeth-
er, as far as it can go with no gap. Make sure
the silicone sleeve is firmly over the LED tubing.

Turning the EASY-CHARGE on and off
The Glowdoggie®Leuchtie® has a patented automatic on/off
function. Simply slide the unit over the dog’s head and
it will turn on automatically as soon as the battery pack is
facing downwards, thanks to its built-in sensor.
.
When the battery pack faces upwards (to the sky) the unit will
turn off after approx. one minute. Find a hook, or somewhere
safe to rest it against…ideally a place that will be prevent it
from turning around and accidentally activating.
Also, keep it above the ground in case your dog thinks it’s a
new chew toy!
Recharging the batteries
The enclosed NiMH batteries come slightly pre-charged – so the
EasyCharge is ready for immediate use, for a short period. Ideal-
ly, a few hours of charging before or after the first use is recom-
mended, or a full charge until the indicator lights up green.
We recommend charging the batteries once a week or after ap-
prox. 10-12hrs shine time. Just leave it to charge over night. It is
best to recharge with the product leaning up against a flat solid
surfact, such as a wall or a box…this stabilizes the charging unit
when attached to the magnets. We don’t recommending hanging
to charge, as it tends to lose balance.
You MUST recharge as soon as the LEDs start flashing or blink-
ing, which would happen around the 24 hour mark. This is a
built-in warning function to alert you that the battery pack must
be recharged. Do not ignore this, but charge immediately OR re-
move the battery pack until you can recharge, to prevent perma-
nent non-warrantied damage from a possible battery leak.
5. Connect the USB cable of the charging station to a USB power
source (e.g. USB power supply unit or USB socket of a car/ PC,
etc.). The green LED of the charging station indicates that it is
ready for use.
6. Place the charging contacts of the LEUCHTE on the charging sta-
tion. The magnetic charging contacts will automatically align. The
red LED shows that the batteries are recharging.
7. The batteries are charged sufficiently as soon as the green LED
starts to light up in addition to the red LED.

Notices:
•The magnetic charging contacts of the battery pack only conduct electricity during the
charging process. The contacts can thus be short-circuited or held under water without
creating any danger for dogs or humans. The battery pack is of course 100% waterproof.
•Please make sure that the battery pack is clean and dry when placing it on the charging
station.
•Using the LEUCHTIE before charging is completed (with on the single red LED of the charg-
ing station light shining) is also possible without any problems. Please place the LEUCHTIE
after the walk on the charging station again until the green LED starts lighting up in addition to
the red one.
Important notes for recharging:
•Please only use the provided LEUCHTIE charging kit.
•We recommend early recharging:
If you use the LEUCHTIE for 1 – 2 h each day, you should recharge it once a week or after
approx. 10 – 15 h shine time, overnight. That enables the maximum shine time with the
shortest amount of recharging time needed.
•Flashing LEDs indicate empty batteries. Please recharge immediately when the LEDs start
flashing until the green LED of the charging station starts lighting up in addition to the red one.
Charging empty batteries can take up to 24 h.
•Fully charge before storage. For the longer months of non-use (ie. Spring and Summer)
please recharge the battery completely before deactivating the unit. We recommend
detaching one side of the battery pack from the LED tubing to deactivate the unit fully. Or
remove the battery pack completely. Just remember, when placing the battery pack back on,
that the side with the inner red ring goes on the side of the LED tubing furthest away/opposite
to the Silver Glowdoggie label ring. Or as in the following picture, marked as C.
•The integrated batteries can be replaced if necessary. Contact us for info on this.

Safety information
•Please use the LEUCHTIE only for its designated purpose.
•Do not attach a lead to the LEUCHTIE and avoid holding your dog by the LEUCHTIE. Too much
force on the LEUCHTIE could cause the battery and other parts to fall out and get lost.
•LEUCHTIE is not a dog toy!
The LEUCHTIE can be damaged and might open if it is used too heavily (e.g. throwing or
vigorous biting). In this case, small parts such as batteries, contact springs, etc. can fall out and
be lost or even swallowed by the dog, which may lead to serious injuries. If this happens
nevertheless, please immediately contact a veterinarian, who can take the appropriate measures
if necessary.
•If you notice any defects, do not use the LEUCHTIE. If you notice a sudden wave of heat after ac-
tivation from the battery pack, detach the battery pack immediately. Do not place on dog.
•Make sure that no moisture gets inside the LEUCHTIE when it is open – especially when cleaning
it or changing the batteries. When fully closed, the LEUCHTIE is protected against water and
moisture completely. Should you nevertheless notice moisture inside the LEUCHTIE, separate
the tubing and the battery pack with a slight angular movement (see figures page 1) and let both
parts dry overnight.
•Do not expose the LEUCHTIE to temperatures of more than 60 °C.
•Do not dry or heat the LEUCHTIE in the microwave under any circumstances - the microwave
radiation would destroy the electronics immediately.
•In order to achieve the best results please recharge at room temperature (5 – 25 °C).
•Do not disassemble, heat or short-circuit the built-in batteries.
•Swallowing the batteries can be fatal! For this reason, please keep both the batteries and the
product out of reach of small children (and your dog). In case a battery is swallowed, please seek
medical assistance immediately.
•The LEUCHTIE is 100% waterproof, however if you have a dog that is super active and powerful,
and is likely to crash into the water or waves, then we recommend securing the silicone sleeves
with some additional clear DUCT tape. This will prevent the grip of the silicone sleeves from re-
leasing. Same goes for dogs prone to rush through densely wooden areas where branches may
knock the product open.
Cleaning
Clean the LEUCHTIE in warm water and soap or mild detergent if required. You can also use some
rubbing alcohol on a microfiber cloth. Do not use aggressive or solvent-based cleaners! When
cleaning the LEUCHTIE, please pay attention that the silicone sleeves are closed properly to prevent
humidity from entering.
