WARNING: Always wear ear protection where the sound level exceeds 85dB(A) and limit the
time of exposure if necessary. If sound levels are uncomfortable, even with ear protection,
stop using the tool immediately and check the ear protection is correctly tted and provides
the correct level of sound attenuation for the level of sound produced by your tool.
WARNING: User exposure to tool vibration can result in loss of sense of touch, numbness,
tingling and reduced ability to grip. Long term exposure can lead to a chronic condition. If
necessary, limit the length of time exposed to vibration and use anti-vibration gloves. Do not
operate the tool with hands below a normal comfortable temperature, as vibration will have
a greater effect. Use the gures provided in the specication relating to vibration to calculate
the duration and frequency of operating the tool.

working conditions. A poorly maintained, incorrectly assembled, or misused tool, may produce

always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury
including the following safety information. Read all these instructions before
attempting to operate this product and save these instructions for future use.
WARNING: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced, physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised to
ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
CAUTION: Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with
these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool
or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1. Keep work area clear - Cluttered areas and benches invite injuries
2. Consider work area environment

3. Guard against electric shock - Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces

5. Store idle tools - When not in use, tools should be stored in a dry locked-up place, out of
reach of children
6. Do not force the tool - It will perform the job better and safer at the rate for which it
was intended
7. Use the right tool - Do not force small tools to do the job of a heavy duty tool Do not
use tools for purposes not intended; for example do not use circular saws to cut tree
limbs or logs
8. Dress appropriately

WARNING: Not using protective equipment or appropriate clothing can cause personal injury

10. Connect dust extraction equipment - If the tool is provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collecting equipment, ensure these are connected and properly used
11. Do not abuse the power cable - Never yank the power cable to disconnect it from
the socket. Keep the power cable away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Damaged or
entangled power cables increase the risk of electric shock
12. Secure work - Where possible use clamps or a vice to hold the work. It is safer than
using your hand
13. Do not overreach - Keep proper footing and balance at all times
14. Maintain tools with care
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean makes the tool easier to control and less likely to bind
or lock in the workpiece
- Follow instruction for lubricating and changing accessories
- Inspect tool power cables periodically and if damaged have them repaired by an
authorized service facility
- Inspect extension cables periodically and replace if damaged
- Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease

15. Disconnect tools - When not in use, before servicing and when changing
accessories such as blades, bits and cutters, disconnect tools from the power supply
WARNING: The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by the manufacturer

16. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches - Form the habit of checking to see that
keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from the tool before switching it on

19. Stay alert
- Watch what you are doing, use common sense and do not operate the tool when you are
tired
- Do not use a power tool while you are under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or medication

20. Check damaged parts
- Before further use of tool, it should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate
properly and perform its intended function
- Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts,
mounting and any other conditions that may affect its operation
- A guard or other part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an
authorized service centre unless otherwise indicated in this instruction manual
- Have defective switches replaced by an authorized service centre
WARNING: Do not use the tool if the on/off switch does not turn it on and off. The switch
must be repaired before the tool is used.
21. Have your tool repaired by a qualified person - This electric tool complies with
the relevant safety rules. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified persons,
otherwise this may result in considerable danger to the user
WARNING: When servicing use only identical replacement parts.
WARNING: If the power cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an
authorised service centre.
22.Power tool mains plugs must match the mains socket - Never modify the plug
in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching sockets will reduce risk of electric shock
23.If operating a power tool outside use a residual current device (RCD) - Use of an
RCD reduces the risk of electric shock
NOTE: The term “residual current device (RCD)” may be replaced by the term “ground fault
circuit interrupter (GFCI)” or “earth leakage circuit breaker (ELCB)”.
WARNING: When used in Australia or New Zealand, it is recommended that this tool is
ALWAYS supplied via Residual Current Device (RCD) with a rated residual current of 30mA
or less.
WARNING: Before connecting a tool to a power source (mains switch power point receptacle,
outlet, etc.) be sure that the voltage supply is the same as that specied on the nameplate
of the tool. A power source with a voltage greater than that specied for the tool can result in
serious injury to the user, and damage to the tool. If in doubt, do not plug in the tool. Using a
power source with a voltage less than the nameplate rating is harmful to the motor.
Polarised Plugs (for North America only) To reduce the risk of electric shock, this equipment
has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will t in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t,
contact a qualied electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.
Air Tool Safety
• For multiple hazards, read and understand the safety instructions before installing,
operating, repairing, maintaining, changing accessories on, or working near this tool.
Failure to do so can result in serious bodily injury
• Only qualied and trained operators should install, adjust, or use this tool
• Do not modify this tool. Modications can reduce the effectiveness of safety measures
and increase the risks to the operator
• Do not discard the safety instructions; give them to the operator
• Do not use this tool if it has been damaged
• Tools shall be inspected periodically to verify that the ratings and markings required by
this part of ISO 11148 are legibly marked on the tool. The employer/user should contact
the manufacturer to obtain replacement marking labels when necessary

Projectile Hazards

• The risks to others should also be assessed at this time
• Ensure that the workpiece is securely xed
Entanglement Hazards
• Choking, scalping and/or lacerations can occur if loose clothing, personal jewellery, neck
wear, hair or gloves are not kept away from the tool and its accessories
Operating Hazards
• Use of the tool can expose the operator’s hands to hazards, including cuts, abrasions and
heat
• Wear suitable gloves to protect hands
• Operators and maintenance personnel should be physically able to handle the bulk,
weight and power of the tool

• Hold the tool correctly; be ready to counteract normal or sudden movements and have
both hands available
• Maintain a balanced body position and secure footing
• Release the start-and-stop device in the case of an interruption of the energy supply
• Use only lubricants recommended by the manufacturer
• Personal protective safety glasses should be used; suitable gloves and protective clothing
are recommended
• Avoid direct contact with moving parts in order to prevent pinching or cutting of hands or
other body parts
• Wear suitable gloves to protect hands
• There is a risk of electrostatic discharge if used on plastic and other non-conductive
materials
Repetitive Motions Hazards
• When using this tool to perform work-related activities, the operator can experience
discomfort in the hands, arms, shoulders, neck or other parts of the body
• While using this tool, the operator should adopt a comfortable posture whilst maintaining
secure footing and avoiding awkward or off-balance postures. The operator should
change posture during extended tasks; this can help avoid discomfort and fatigue
• If the operator experiences symptoms such as persistent or recurring discomfort, pain,
throbbing, aching, tingling, numbness, burning sensations or stiffness, these warning
signs should not be ignored. The operator should inform the employer and consult a
qualied health professional
Accessory Hazards
• Disconnect the tool from the energy supply before tting or changing the inserted tool or
accessory
• Avoid direct contact with the inserted tool during and after use, as it can be hot or sharp
• Use only sizes and types of accessories and consumables that are recommended by the
manufacturer of this tool; do not use other types or sizes of accessories or consumables
Workplace Hazards
• Slips, trips and falls are major causes of workplace injury. Be aware of slippery surfaces
caused by use of the tool and also of trip hazards caused by the air line or hydraulic hose
• This tool is not intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and is not insulated
against contact with electric power
Dust and Fume Hazards
• Dust and fumes generated when using this tool can cause ill health (for example
cancer, birth defects, asthma and/or dermatitis); risk assessment and implementation of
appropriate controls for these hazards are essential
• Risk assessment should include dust created by the use of the tool and the potential for
disturbing existing dust
• Direct the exhaust so as to minimise disturbance of dust in a dust-lled environment
• Where dust or fumes are created, the priority should be to control them at the point of
emission
• Select, maintain and replace the consumable/inserted tool as recommended in the
instruction handbook, to prevent an unnecessary increase in dust or fumes
• Use respiratory protection in accordance with employer's instructions and as required by
occupational health and safety regulations
Noise Hazards
• Exposure to high noise levels can cause permanent, disabling hearing loss and other
problems, such as tinnitus (ringing, buzzing, whistling or humming in the ears). Therefore,
risk assessment and implementation of appropriate controls for these hazards are
essential
• Appropriate controls to reduce the risk can include actions such as damping materials to
prevent workpieces from ‘ringing’
• Use hearing protection in accordance with employer's instructions and as required by
occupational health and safety regulations
• Operate and maintain this tool as recommended in the instruction handbook, to prevent
an unnecessary increase in the noise level
• Select, maintain and replace the consumable/inserted tool as recommended in the
instruction handbook, to prevent an unnecessary increase in noise
• If the tool has a silencer, always ensure it is in place and in good working order when the
tool is being operated
Vibration Hazards
• This information shall draw attention to vibration hazards that have not been eliminated by
design and construction and remain as residual vibration risks. It shall enable employers
to identify the circumstances in which the operator is likely to be at risk from vibration
exposure If the vibration-emission value obtained using ISO 28927-3 does not adequately
represent the vibration emission in the intended uses (and foreseeable misuses) of the
machine, additional information and/or warnings shall be supplied to enable the risks
arising from vibration to be assessed and managed.
• Exposure to vibration can cause disabling damage to the nerves and blood supply of the
hands and arms
• Wear warm clothing when working in cold conditions and keep your hands warm and dry
• If you experience numbness, tingling, pain or whitening of the skin in your ngers or
hands, stop using the machine, inform your employer and consult a physician
• Operate and maintain the sander or polisher as recommended in the instruction
handbook, to prevent an unnecessary increase in vibration levels
• Hold the tool with a light but safe grip, taking account of the required hand reaction forces,
because the risk from vibration is generally greater when the grip force is higher
Air Compressor Safety
When using machinery there are certain precautions that need to be taken in order to
promote safe operation. Always apply caution and respect to the machinery in use; if the
following safety precautions are ignored then damage or harm may be subjected to the
operator, property or bystander. It is in the interest of the user to read and pay attention to the
following guidelines.
WARNING: This air compressor does not produce breathable air. Ingesting compressed air is
dangerous and can cause harm.
WARNING: Hot surfaces are present. DO NOT touch the motor, cylinder, heads and tubes as
harm may occur from burning.
WARNING: DO NOT use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Ensure that the atmosphere is
free from combustible gases and high concentrations of ne dust.
a) NEVER use compressed air for an unintended use. Compressed air has the potential to
cause harm. Avoid directing compressed air towards animals or persons, and NEVER
release compressed air towards the skin.
b) Ensure the work area is debris-free and dry. Untidy workspaces raise the potential for
injury.
c) Compressor should be assembled correctly. Using a compressor with guards, covers
and components removed is dangerous and may compromise the compressor’s ability to
perform.
d) DO NOT modify the compressor. Modications to the compressor can be dangerous.
Unapproved modications may not only hinder the compressor’s ability to perform,
but may result in harm being caused to the operator. Repairs should be carried out by
qualied personnel only, using only manufacturer veried components.
e) Safety valves should not be modied or tampered with. Doing so can cause harm to the
operator and damage the air compressor. The maximum pressure is predetermined by
the manufacturer and should not be adjusted.

f) Keep bystanders away. Children and bystanders should be kept away from the
compressor. Unintentional interaction with the compressor is dangerous.
g) Do not abuse cables and hoses. Keep cables and hoses from heat, uids and sharp
edges. NEVER attempt to strain the cables and hoses further than their fully extended
reach, or allow them to become tangled.
h) The air compressor should be stored correctly and depressurised. During storage and
transportation the compressor should be free from pressure, ALWAYS expel the air from
the air compressor after use.
i) Ensure that the pressure rating is compliant with the tool. ALWAYS check the air tool has
a safety working pressure that exceeds the working pressure of the machine.
j) Use appropriate protection for the task at hand. Suitable protection for the application;
face masks will protect from spray paints and goggles will protect from ying debris.
k) Operate the air compressor correctly. Adhere to the operation instructions provided in
the manual. NEVER allow children or persons unfamiliar with the operation of the air
compressor use this product.
l) Disconnect accessories with care. Depressurise the tank and ensure that the air supply is
turned off prior to removing accessories and air tools.
m) Wear appropriate clothing. Loose hanging clothing, jewellery or long hair can be caught in
moving parts.
n) Keep the air compressor dry and free from moisture. Condensation can become trapped
within the system. A specied release valve will remove moisture from the air compressor.
o) Ensure the compressor is compliant with local rules and regulations. Regular testing will
determine whether the air compressor is suitable for service in certain regions.
p) Ensure lubrication levels are within specication (where applicable). Operating the air
compressor without sufcient lubrication will affect the longevity of the components.
q) Take the correct precautions when performing maintenance. Ensure ALL compressed air
is expelled from the air compressor tank and the power supply is disconnected before
commencing any maintenance procedures.
r) Operate air compressor within an appropriate environment. DO NOT use in ambient
temperatures below 0°C, wet, or damp conditions. ONLY indoor use is permitted for air
compressor operation.
s) Freezing of condensation within the system can damage components and create
potential for harm to the operator. This may be prevented by operating the air compressor
in suitable ambient temperatures, and by frequently expelling condensation from the
system.

Intended Use
• Mains-powered, oil-lubricated, 2.0hp air compressor with large capacity, 50 litre,
compressed air tank. Supplies power to a wide variety of air tools, including spray guns
and impact wrenches
Unpacking Your Tool
WARNING: This device is very heavy and should NOT be unpacked and handled by a single
person.
• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all its features and
functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing
or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
Transport wheel installation
1. Place the air compressor unit on a secure at surface ready for assembly, and locate the
Transport Wheels (14) and xings
2. Carefully place the air compressor unit on its side to gain access to the wheel mounting
hole
3. Slide the Axle (16) through the centre of the Transport Wheel, followed by the wheel
mounting hole
4. Fasten using corresponding nut and crush washer
5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the other side
Rubber foot installation
1. Place the air compressor unit on a secure, at surface to reveal the foot mounting hole
(Image I). Locate the Rubber Foot (12) and xings
2. Slide the supplied xing bolt through the bottom of the Rubber Foot (Image II), then
through the foot mounting hole, and fasten using the corresponding nut
3. Access to the other foot mounting hole is available from the air compressor’s current
position. Repeat steps 1-2
Air lter installation
1. The threaded air intake port is located on the side of the Cylinder Head (Image III)
2. Screw the Air Filter (15) into the air intake port
Filling with motor oil
WARNING: This air compressor is supplied without oil. DO NOT attempt to start the motor
before you have lled the motor with the appropriate type and amount of oil.
WARNING: Only use an oil type listed in the ‘Specication’. High viscosity oil could create
blockages due to improper circulation during cold starts. A low viscosity oil will be unable to
lubricate the compressor sufciently.
Note: Always place the air compressor on a level surface before lling motor oil or checking
oil levels.
1. Position the air compressor on a secure, at surface
2. Remove the shipping plug from the crankcase breather hole, and store in a safe place.
The crankcase breather hole is now accessible
Note: This compressor features an external Oil Level Monitor (5) (Image IV), for easy

3. Fill with suitable motor oil to the centre of the red ‘full’ mark on the Oil Level Monitor, see
‘Specication’ for details regarding suitable motor oil
4. Screw the Crankcase Breather (3) into the crankcase breather hole
Fitting the quick connector
Note: This tool is supplied with two different female airline quick connectors:
EN-6 – mainly used in the UK (Fig. A)
EQ-4 – commonly used in Europe (Fig. B)
• Please choose the connector that is compatible with the airline system you are using, and
install as outlined below:
1. Apply PTFE tape (not included) to the screw threads of the Quick Connector (10). This
will help maintain an air-tight seal
Note: Apply PTFE tape tightly and in a clockwise direction, so it does not come off when the
thread is screwed into the tool.
2. Remove the protective plug from the air inlet
3. Using a spanner (not included), screw the Quick Connector into the air inlet located at the
base of the handle
4. Connect to airline, pressurise carefully and carry out a leak check (e.g. by spraying small
amounts of soapy water on to the outside of the connectors)
• Air lines tted with matching male quick connectors will now be a push t to the tool
Check valves and fasteners
Note: Always check the operation of the Pressure Release Valve (8) before use; its function
is imperative to the safe use of this air compressor.
• Ensure all valves and fasteners are correctly tightened/seated for operation before each
use
Operation
WARNING: Always use adequate protective equipment, including eye protection, respiratory
and hearing protection, when working with this tool.
Switching on and off
1. Check that the compressor is disconnected from all air tools or air lines and that the ON/
OFF Switch (6) is depressed
2. Connect the machine to the mains power supply
3. Pull the ON/OFF Switch (6) upwards. This will start the compressor
4. Allow the compressor to build pressure; the tank pressure is displayed on the Pressure
Gauge (7). When the Reservoir Tank (1) pressure reaches 8bar (116psi), the motor will
stop automatically
5. Press the ON/OFF Switch down to switch the compressor off
Connecting air tools
• Tools can be connected to the Quick Connector (10) using a suitable air line tted with a
corresponding ¼" bayonet type male connector
• Always ensure that air tools are in the 'off' position before connecting. Tools will be
pressurised as soon as the connections are made
• To connect an air tool, t the air line to the tool, then push the bayonet tting into the
Quick Connector outlet of the compressor
• Once connected, the output pressure can be adjusted. Turn the Pressure Regulator
(11) clockwise to increase pressure, and anti-clockwise to decrease pressure. The line
pressure is displayed on the Pressure Gauge (7)
• Release the air line by pulling back the outer sheath of the high pressure outlet and
pulling the bayonet tting out. Be aware that the air line and tool will hold residual air
pressure

Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly,
and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush,
or dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation
holes
• Use a mild detergent and a damp cloth to clean parts contaminated with oil. Rinse with
fresh water and dry thoroughly
• Keep all electric and electronic components dry at all times
Depressurising the air tank
• If it is necessary to release residual air pressure from the air tank, disconnect the
compressor from the mains power supply and pull the ring in the centre of the Pressure
Release Valve (8) outwards
• Residual air will escape from the valve until the ring is released, or all air pressure is
released
Draining
• During use, atmospheric moisture will condense in the air storage tank. The tank should
be drained of moisture on a regular basis to avoid corrosion damage
• To drain moisture, open the Drain Cock (13), located on the underside of the tank, approx.
3 turns anti-clockwise
• Allow all moisture to drain and retighten plug
Air lter maintenance
WARNING: Never run this compressor without the air lter element tted, as this would lead
to rapid wear of internal components, causing permanent internal damage and shorten the
service life of this compressor.
Adjusting line pressure
• The pressure of the air supplied to the tool (line pressure) can be adjusted using the
Pressure Regulator (11). The line pressure is displayed on the Pressure Gauge
• Increase the line pressure by rotating the pressure regulator clockwise. To reduce the line
pressure, rotate the pressure regulator anti-clockwise

A range of accessories, including an Air Filter, Air Regulator, Air Impact Wrench, as well as
a variety of spray guns, are available from your GMC dealer. Spare parts can be purchased

Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS wear adequate personal protective equipment, including eye protection
and oil-resistant gloves, when carrying out maintenance on this compressor. ALWAYS ensure
proper ventilation.
WARNING: If oil is removed during maintenance, ll into suitable sealed containers and
dispose of according to laws and regulations.
WARNING: ALWAYS switch the compressor off and wait until all components have
completely cooled, before cleaning or carrying out any maintenance (with the exception of oil
removal; refer to ‘Changing the motor oil’).
Note: The maintenance schedule should be adjusted according to use and environment.
If the compressor is used frequently, and/or if it is used in harsher environments, shorter
maintenance intervals are required.
WARNING: Always remove the plug from the mains power supply before carrying out any
maintenance/cleaning.

Troubleshooting
1. Detach the Air Filter (15) from the Cylinder Head (4), by turning it anticlockwise
2. Remove the wing nut from the top of the Air Filter assembly, and remove the air lter
element from the inside of the assembly
3. Wash the lter element thoroughly in a solution of warm water with non-foamy household
detergent, or clean with a specialised non-ammable solvent
WARNING: DO NOT use petrol or other ammable solvents to clean the lter element, as this
could lead to re or explosion.
4. Dry the lter element thoroughly
WARNING: DO NOT wring out the element, as this would damage the sponge material.
WARNING: NEVER install a wet lter element, as water in the air intake will lead to
permanent motor damage.
5. Immerse the dried lter element in clean motor oil, or alternatively, apply specialised air lter
oil to the lter element. Gently squeeze (but DO NOT wring out) to remove excess oil.
Note: If the lter element is installed soaked in excessive amounts of oil, the motor will
produce large amounts of smoke after being started.
6. Reinstall the Air Filter to the Cylinder Head. Ensuring that the air lter is securely
tightened into the intake port.
Motor oil maintenance
WARNING: Motor oil is a major pollutant and MUST NOT be allowed to enter the
environment. Dispose of according to local laws and regulations.
WARNING: Used motor oil can cause dermatitis and other skin disorders, including skin
cancer, if repeatedly left in contact with skin for prolonged periods of time. Wear suitable
gloves and thoroughly wash your hands and other exposed skin with soap and water as soon
as possible after handling used oil.
Note: Motor oil is best drained when the compressor is still warm. If the compressor is cool,
start and let it run for a few minutes, before changing the oil. This will lead to more rapid and
complete draining.
WARNING: Take special care not to touch hot motor parts.
Note: Motor oil is extracted and poured through the Crankcase Breather (3) hole
1. Ensure the ON/OFF Switch (6) is in the ‘OFF’ position
2. Remove the Crankcase Breather from the crankcase to reveal the crankcase breather hole
3. Place and oil suction gun (or syphon pump) receiver into the Motor Oil Fill Point. Operate
the oil removal tool to extract the oil
4. Refer to ‘Filling with motor oil’ for information on relling
Storage
WARNING: Ensure the On/Off Switch (6) is in the ‘Off’ position, the power cord is
disconnected from the mains, and the air Reservoir Tank (1) is depressurised, before
transporting or storing the air compressor.
Transporting the air compressor
• This air compressor provides a Transport Handle (9) located at the front. Due to its weight
and size, the device should always be moved using the transportation handle and wheels.
Storing the compressor
• Store carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
Preparation for long-term storage
• Whenever the machine is out of use for an extended period of time, proceed as follows:
• Give the unit an overall cleaning and a thorough check
• Clean the air lter as described in ‘Air lter maintenance’
• Change the motor oil as described in ‘Motor oil maintenance’
• Protect all metal parts from corrosion by coating them with oil or a machinery preservative
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer
functional and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment, with
household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the proper way to dispose of tools
• Oil must not be disposed of with household waste. Improper disposal may be regarded a

WAARSCHUWING: Bij een geluidsintensiteit van 85 dB(A) of hoger is het dragen van
gehoorbescherming en het limiteren van de blootstellingstijd vereist. Bij oncomfortabel
hoge geluidsniveaus, zelfs met het dragen van gehoorbescherming, stopt u het gebruik
van de machine onmiddellijk. Controleer de pasvorm en het geluiddempingsniveau van de
bescherming.
WAARSCHUWING: Blootstelling aan trilling resulteert mogelijk in gevoelloosheid, tinteling en
een vermindert gripvermogen. Langdurige blootstelling kan leiden tot chronische condities.
Limiteer de blootstellingsduur en draag anti-vibratie handschoenen. Vibratie heeft een grotere
invloed op handen met een temperatuur lager dan een normale, comfortabele temperatuur.

23. Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te gebruiken in een vochtige
omgeving, gebruik dan een energiebron met een aardlek beveiliging (Residual
Currency Device). Het gebruik van een RCD vermindert het risico op een elektrische
schok
WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer de machine in Nieuw-Zeeland gebruikt wordt, met een
lekstroom van 30 mA of lager, is het gebruik van een aardlekschakelaar aanbevolen
WAARSCHUWING: Voordat u de machine op de stroombron aansluit controleert u of het
voltage van de stroombron overeenkomt met het voltage op het gegevensplaatje op de
machine. Een stroombron met een hogere spanning kan zorgen voor ernstige verwondingen
aan de gebruiken en schade aan de machine. Een stroombron met een lagere spanning kan
de motor beschadigen. Plug de stekker bij twijfel niet in de stroombron.
Gepolariseerde stekkers (enkel voor Noord-Amerika) Voor het verminderen van het risico op
elektrische schok, is de eenheid voorzien van een gepolariseerde stekker (Een blad is breder
dan de andere). De stekker past slechts op één manier in een gepolariseerd contactpunt.
Wanneer de stekker niet volledig in het contactpunt past, draait u de stekker om. Wanneer de
stekker nog steeds niet past, neemt u contact op met een gekwaliceerd elektricien. De plug
mag in geen enkele manier aangepast worden.
Veiligheid pneumatisch gereedschap
• Bij de kans op meervoudige gevaren, leest en begrijpt u de veiligheidsinstructies voor
het installeren, gebruiken, repareren, onderhouden, het verwisselen van accessoires op
of het werken in de buurt van de machine. Doet u dit niet, dan is de kans op serieuze
verwondingen groot.
• De machine hoort alleen door gekwaliceerde/getrainde personen geïnstalleerd,
aangepast of gebruikt worden
• Modiceer de machine niet. Modicaties verminderen de effectiviteit van
veiligheidsmaatregelen en vergroten het risico voor de gebruiker
• Gooi de veiligheidsinstructies niet weg
• Gebruik de machine niet wanneer deze beschadigd is
• Machines horen regelmatig geïnspecteerd te worden om te bevestigen dat de benodigde
markeringen van dit ISO 11148 deel leesbaar op de machine gemarkeerd zijn. De
gebruiker neemt wanneer nodig contact op met de fabrikant voor het verkrijgen van de
juiste markeringslabels .
WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen met een
verminderde mentale of fysieke bekwaamheid of een gebrek aan ervaring, tenzij de persoon
wordt begeleid of geïnstrueerd door een persoon verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid
Rondvliegende gevaren
• Het falen van het werkstuk, accessoires of de machine zelf kan resulteren in
rondvliegende delen op hoge snelheid
• Draag te allen tijde gezichtsbescherming. De beschermingsgraad hoort voor elk gebruik
vastgesteld worden
• Bij het gebruik boven het hoofd is het dragen van een veiligheidshelm aanbevolen
• Denk aan de veiligheid van anderen om u heen
• Zorg ervoor dat het werkstuk goed vastgezet is
Verwikkelingsgevaar
• Stikken, scalperen en verwondingen zijn mogelijk het resultaat wanneer losse kleding,
sieraden, haar en handschoenen niet weggehouden worden van de machine en de
accessoires

Gebruiksgevaren
• Het gebruik van de machine kan de gebruikers handen blootstellen aan gevaren als snij-,
schuur- en brandwonden
• Draag geschikte handschoenen voor het beschermen van de handen
• Gebruikers horen fysiek in staat te zijn de machine te hanteren
• Houdt de machine juist vast zodat normale en plotselinge bewegingen met beide handen
onder controle gehouden kunnen worden
• Zorg voor een stevige en gebalanceerde houding
• Laat de start-en-stop hendel in het geval van een stroomstoring los
• Gebruik alleen smeermiddelen, aanbevolen door de fabrikant
• Het dragen van een veiligheidsbril is een must. Het dragen van beschermende
handschoenen en kleding is aangeraden
• Vermijdt direct contact met de bewegende delen om verwondingen te voorkomen
• Draag geschikte handschoenen voor het beschermen van uw handen
• Bij het gebruik op plastic of andere niet-geleidende materialen bestaat de kans op
elektrostatische ontlading
Gevaar herhaalde bewegingen
• Bij het gebruik van de machine ervaart de gebruiker mogelijk ongemakken in de handen,
armen, schouders of andere delen van het lichaam
• De gebruiker hoort tijdens het gebruik van een machine een comfortabele werkhouding
aan te houden en bij langere gebruiksperiodes regelmatig van houding te wisselen om
ongemak en vermoeidheid te voorkomen
• Het ervaren van de volgende symptomen hoort niet negeert te worden: terugkerend
ongemak, pijn, tinteling, ongevoeligheid, stijfheid en brandend gevoel. De gebruiker hoort
de werkgever te informeren en gezondheidshulp te raadplegen
Accessoire gevaren
• Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron voor het verwisselen van accessoires
• Vermijdt contact met de accessoires tijdens en na gebruik, deze zijn mogelijk scherp en
heet
• Maak enkel gebruik van accessoire maten en typen aanbevolen door de
schuurmachinefabrikant
Werkplaats gevaren
• Misstappen, struikelen en vallen zijn de grootste werkplaatsongeluk-oorzaken. Ben
bewust van gladde oppervlakken en gevaren, veroorzaakt door het gebruik van de
machine en luchtslangen
• De machine is niet ontworpen voor gebruik in potentiëlen explosieve atmosferen en is niet
geïsoleerd tegen contact met stroom
Stof en damp gevaren
• Stoffen en dampen zijn schadelijk voor de gezondheid en leiden mogelijk tot
gezondheidsproblemen als kanker, zwangerschaps-/geboorteproblemen, astma en/of
huidontsteking. Risicoafweging en bescherming tegen deze gevaren zijn essentieel
• Risicoafweging bevat de stof als resultaat van het gebruik van de machine en het
potentiele gevaar van het bestaande stof
• Richt de uitlaat zo dat de stofstoring in de met stof gevulde omgeving geminimaliseerd
wordt
• De stof- of dampproductie hoort bij het uitstotingspunt aangepakt te worden
• Selecteer, onderhoud en vervang aangesloten apparaten als aanbevolen in de
handleiding om onnodige stof en gasvorming te voorkomen
• In overeenstemming met uw werkgever draagt u een geschikt stofmasker als
voorgeschreven door het gezondheids- en veiligheidsreglement
Geluidsgevaren
• Blootstelling aan hoge geluidsniveaus kan resulteren in piepende en uitende geluiden in
de oren en tevens permanente gehoorbeschadiging veroorzaken. Daarvoor horen deze
gevaren onder controle gehouden te worden.
• Denk daarbij aan het dempen van materialen en het voorkomen van het klinken van het
werkstuk
• Gebruik geschikte gehoorbescherming in overeenstemming met de werkgevers
instructies en de gezondheids- en veiligheidsvoorschriften
• Gebruik en onderhoud de machine als voorgeschreven in de handleiding om onnodige
verhoging van geluidsniveaus te voorkomen
• Selecteert, onderhoud en vervangt u het gereedschap als aanbevolen in de handleiding
om onnodige verhoging van geluidsniveaus te voorkomen
• Wanneer de machine is voorzien van een geluidsdemper, zorg er voor dat deze juist
functioneert bij het gebruik van de machine
Trilling gevaren
• De trillingen die niet geëlimineerd zijn door het ontwerp en de constructie blijven risicovol.
Werkgevers kunnen zo de werkomstandigheden vaststellen waarin de werknemer een
risico loopt op blootstelling aan trillingen. Wanneer het trilling niveau, verkregen met
behulp van ISO 28927-3, niet overeenkomt met het werkelijke trilling niveau van de
machine zal bijkomende informatie verstrekt worden zodat de risico’s beoordeeld en
behandeld kunnen worden
• Blootstelling aan trilling kan de zenuwen en bloedtoevoer in de handen en armen
beschadigen
• Draag warme kleding bij het gebruik in koude omstandigheden en houd uw handen warm
en droog
• Bij gevoelloosheid, tintelingen, pijn of wit worden van de huid in uw vingers of handen
stopt u onmiddellijk met het gebruik van de machine, vertel uw werkgever en raadpleeg
een dokter
• Gebruik en onderhoud de machine als voorgeschreven in de handleiding om onnodige
verhoging van trilling niveaus te voorkomen
• Houd de machine met een lichte maar veilige houvast vast waar trillingsniveaus over het
algemeen hoger zijn bij een vaste houvast
Luchtcompressor veiligheid
Bij het gebruik van machines is het nemen van verschillende voorzorgsmaatregelen erg
belangrijk. Respecteer de machine en ben uiterst voorzichtig. Wanneer de volgende
voorzorgsmaatregelen negeert worden is de kans op beschadiging en persoonlijk letsel erg
groot. Lees onderstaande punten grondig door voordat u de machine gebruikt
WAARSCHUWING: De compressor produceert geen in te ademen lucht. Het inademen van
de perslucht is gevaarlijk en schadelijk voor de gezondheid
WAARSCHUWING: Oppervlakken van de machine zijn mogelijk heet. Raak de motor,
cilinder, koppen en leidingen niet aan
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik de eenheid niet in een potentieel explosieve omgeving. Zorg
ervoor dat de atmosfeer vrij is van ontvlambare gassen en jne stofdeeltjes
a) Gebruik perslucht nooit voor ongeschikte doeleinden. Perslucht is mogelijk gevaarlijk.
Voorkom het richten van perslucht in de richting van personen en dieren. Spuit perslucht
nooit op de blote huid
b) Zorg ervoor dat de omgeving schoon en droog is. Rommelige werkplaatsen vergroten de
kans op ongelukken
c) De compressor dient juist samengesteld te worden. Het gebruik de compressor zonder
de beschermkappen en andere componenten is erg gevaarlijk en heeft mogelijk een
negatieve invloed op de werking van de machine

d) De compressor dient niet aangepast te worden. Het aanpassen van de compressor is erg
gevaarlijk. Aanpassingen hebben een negatieve invloed op de werking van de machine
en resulteren mogelijk in ernstig letsel. Reparaties dienen enkel uitgevoerd te worden
door gekwaliceerde personen, met gebruik van goedgekeurde onderdelen
e) Veiligheidsventielen dienen niet aangepast te worden. Het aanpassen van de ventielen is
erg gevaarlijk. De maximale druk is vastgesteld door de fabrikant en dient niet aangepast
te worden
f) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap bedient.
Door aeiding kunt u de controle over het gereedschap verliezen
g) Misbruik kabels en slangen niet. Houdt kabels en slangen uit de buurt van hitte,
vloeistoffen en scherpe randen. Rek kabels en slangen niet verder dan de natuurlijke rek
h) De compressor dient correct drukloos gemaakt en opgeborgen te worden. Tijdens
transport en opberging dient de compressor vrij te zijn van druk. Verwijder de druk na
gebruik
i) Zorg ervoor dat de druk overeen komt met de machine. Zorg ervoor dat de
veiligheidsdruk van de pneumatische machine de werkdruk van de compressor
overschrijdt
j) Draag de geschikte beschermende uitrusting. Gezichtsbescherming beschermd tegen
spray verf en rondvliegend afval
k) Gebruik de compressor juist. Gebruik de compressor volgens de handleiding. Kinderen
en personen die niet bekent zijn met de werkwijze dienen de machine niet te gebruiken
l) Ontkoppel accessoires voorzichtig. Verwijder de druk uit de tank en zorg ervoor dat de
luchttoevoer is uitgeschakeld voordat het accessoire verwijderd wordt
m) Draag de geschikte kleding. Loshangende kleding, sieraden en lang haar kan door de
bewegende onderdelen gegrepen worden
n) Houdt de compressor droog en vrij van vocht. Condensatie kan in de machine gevangen
worden. Een speciek ventiel verwijdert vocht uit de compressor
o) Zorg ervoor dat de compressor overeenstemt met de plaatselijke regels en wetgeving.
Regelmatig testen stelt vast of de compressor geschikt is voor gebruik in de regio
p) Zorg ervoor dat de machine gesmeerd is volgens de specicaties. Het gebruik van de
machine zonder voldoende smering heeft invloed op de levensduur van de machine
q) Neem de juiste voorzorgsmaatregelen bij het uitvoeren van onderhoud. Zorg ervoor dat
alle druk uit de tank verwijdert is en dat de eenheid ontkoppeld is van de stroombron
voordat enig onderhoud wordt uitgevoerd
r) Gebruik de eenheid in een geschikte omgeving. Gebruik de eenheid niet in een
omgevingstemperatuur onder 0°C en in natte of vochtige omstandigheden. De
compressor is enkel geschikt voor binnen gebruik
s) Vorst en condensatie in het systeem kan onderdelen beschadigen en resulteert mogelijk
tot persoonlijk letsel. Dit is te voorkomen door het gebruik van de compressor in geschikte
omgevingstemperaturen en een frequente verwijdering van condensatie uit het systeem
