ETV trouble shooting guide
Typical faults:
1- Bad cutting / bending
2- Length jumping
3- Double cutting
1 Knife adjusting:
I. Removing the knife brake-bar.
When removing the brake-bar, check the green rubber, and make sure it is not worn down.
II. Removing the upper knife.
NOTE: The knife is sharp and should be handled with care!
The knife is held in place by four nuts and springs, and two plates. By removing these the top knife
will be loose, take care the knife does not fall off the bolts. This can cause injury or damage to the
knife.

When the upper knife is flipped down you can gain access to the bottom knife, and adjust it from
here. If you need to remove the knife completely, this can be done by loosening the two bolt in
each side of the knife.
III. Adjusting bottom knife.
The knife is held in place by three bolts, to dismount the knife, you will need to loosen these. Note
that one side of the knife have been grind down 0,6mm. This side must always face towards the
machine.
If the knife does not cut clean throughout the length, it can be shimmed up to correct this issue.
-Mark the knife with a pen where the cut is bad.
-Loosen the mounting bolts on the bottom knife.
-Insert a strip of silicone pack paper (50 Microns) behind the knife where you marked it.
NOTE: Make sure not to cover the air holes with the paper!
-Tighten the bolts on the knife.
NOTE: Never use more than 5 layers of paper!

The bottom knife can also be adjusted via the threaded holes located by the mounting bolts,
however this should only be done after consulting with the manufacturer, if done incorrectly it can
damage the knife.
2 Adjusting the brake:
I. Start with removing the brake-bar
Check all parts for marks or other damage. Check straightness of the bar, the rubber and the brass
bracket.

II. Adjusting the magnet of brake.
Adjust the magnets and place the brake-bar back. Distance between rubber strip and brake-bar
should now allow two to three layers of material to pass through, there should be friction when
trying to pass through 4 layers. The adjustment is checked by starting the sheeter and running
length mode, with approx. two cuttings per second and with no web. Insert a piece of paper into
the brake and check that the paper cannot move when the brake is pressing against the paper.
Move the paper laterally through the whole width of the brake.

3- Adjusting the cut
I. Adjusting the Warner clutch.
First make sure the Warner clutch is set to is start position, where the pal is placed on the
counterpart.
NOTE: Keep the clutch free of grease and oil, as this can be a cause of malfunction.
II. Adjust the camshaft.
Adjust the camshaft so the knife is placed in top position. This is done by loosening the two bolts as
shown on the picture. When knife is in top position the bolts are tightened again.
III. Adjust the outer ring.
Adjust the outer ring so it activates the sensor, the sensor will light up when activated.
