Specification
WARNING: Always wear ear protection where the sound level exceeds 85dB(A) and limit the

the correct level of sound attenuation for the level of sound produced by your tool.

General Safety

The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work Area Safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control
2) Electrical Safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not
use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the

3) Personal Safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may
result in serious personal injury
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment
such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the
switch on invites accidents
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a
key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better
control of the power tool in unexpected situations
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in
moving parts
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities,
ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce
dust-related hazards
4) Power Tool Use & Care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power
tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage
of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If
damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result
in a hazardous situation
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained
Garden Trimmer Safety
WARNING: Hold the tool by dry insulated gripping surfaces only. The tool may cut its
own cord or another mains cable. Exposed metal or damp/wet parts of the tool may become
‘live’ and could give the operator an electric shock.
WARNING: If the trimmer becomes jammed, switch off immediately. Unplug the
mains power supply or remove the battery before attempting to remove trapped nylon line.
WARNING: Do not set up with excessively long nylon line or feed line, especially
when used in lawn edging mode. The surplus line may be cut off during use and thrown
towards the face of the operator.
WARNING: Never place hands or feet close to the cutting line when there is a live
mains connection or charged battery connected. The tool may unintentionally operate
causing injury.
WARNING: Ensure the power lead is kept away from the cutting area. Damage to the
power lead may cause an electric shock.
WARNING: This appliance is not intended for used by persons (including children)

b) Always wear appropriate safety equipment. Use of this tool requires gloves, eye or
face protection, dust mask, ear defenders, hard hat, and sturdy clothing
c) Assess your own physical condition. Never use a garden trimmer when tired, unwell,
or under the influence of drugs or alcohol
d) Ensure other people are a safe distance away from the work area before starting to
cut. Never allow children or pets near to the work area

e) Do not use this product in wet conditions. Ensure that material to be cut is dry before
starting work
f) Do not use this tool if guards are missing or damaged
g) This tool should only be used in an upright position, with the spool or blade close
to the ground
h) Walk slowly when carrying this tool. Freshly cut grass or brush is slippery and may
conceal trip hazards
i) Only use correct nylon trimmer line or specialist blades designed for your tool.
Attempting to use or adapt any other kind of cutting accessory is highly dangerous
j) Never pass arms or legs near to the blade when cutting. Always stand in a stable
position, well back from the cutting area
k) Be prepared for the possibility of kickback in some circumstances. Correct use and
regular maintenance will significantly reduce the chance of kickback occurring
l) Always switch off the tool before crossing over gravel paths or roads
m) Always ensure that the motor ventilation slots are kept clear of debris. This allows
the motor to maintain a normal safe operating temperature
n) Never leave the tool unattended outside when there is possibility of rain. Place the
tool in a rain-proof outbuilding or bring inside the home to prevent an electrical hazard
and damaging or destroying the tool
o) In hot weather the tool may stop operating due to excessive temperature in the
motor (or battery pack on cordless tools). Do not attempt to use the tool again until the
tool has fully cooled. If possible try to avoid using the tool at peak midday temperatures or
try to keep to the shade as much as possible.
IMPORTANT: Switch off and disconnect the mains supply or battery when;
• The tool is unattended
• Before replacing the spool
• If the mains cable is entangled
• Before performing maintenance on the tool

Intended Use
Portable light-duty mains-powered garden tool for cutting grass and small weeds using a
rotating trimmer line. The main tool head can be rotated so the tool can be used as a lawn
edge tool.
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your new tool. Familiarise yourself with all its features and
functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing
or damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
WARNING: Ensure the mains plug is disconnected from the power supply before
attaching or changing any accessories, or making any adjustments.
Trimmer assembly
1. The Guard (13) click-fits into place as shown by the three arrows in Image A
2. Secure the Guard by fitting the supplied screws into the positions shown in Images B and
C. Do not over-tighten
3. Attach the Auxiliary Handle (1) by compressing the spring handle mechanism as indicated
by the arrows in Image D
4. Slide the Auxiliary Handle over as shown in Image E
5. Press in the Auxiliary Handle spring mechanism as shown in Image F to adjust to the right
position for the operator of the tool
6. Adjust the tool to the required length by partially unscrewing the Length Adjuster (2). Adjust
then re-tighten the Length Adjuster
7. Lower the Edging Guard (4) into the open position, it click stops into open and closed
positions
Mode selection
1. Use as a lawn edging tool by pressing and holding the Mode Selector (3) and rotating the
end of the trimmer 180°
2. Release the Mode Selector button. Check the head is secure by attempting to rotate the
head without using the Mode Selector button. The head should not move
3. Lower the Edging Guard (4) into the open position
Operation
Use of an RCD (residual current device) will reduce the chance of electric shock when
using an outdoor power tool
If it is necessary to use an extension lead, check the lead is specifically intended for
outdoor use
WARNING: ALWAYS wear eye protection, adequate respiratory and hearing protection, as
well as suitable gloves, when working with this tool.
Cable Support
Loop a small part of the mains cable around the Cable Support (7) to prevent the mains cable
pulling directly on the cable fitting of the grass trimmer during use. After use it also provides a
support for hanging the wound mains cable.
Switching on and off
1. Hold the machine with one hand on the Main Handle (9) and the other on the Auxiliary
Handle (1)
2. Switch on the machine by pressing the Safety Lock-Off (10) and then the On/Off Trigger
(8). The machine will run until the On/Off Trigger is released

Feeding the trimmer line
Note: This is not a bump feed trimmer. Do not bump the spool to release line.
• The Trimmer automatically feeds a small amount of line feed when it is powered on.
Simply release the On/Off Trigger (8) in use and then re-apply power by pressing the On/
Off Trigger again to feed more line
• A manual Line Feed (15) button is also included
• If neither of the line feed features works, it is possible the line feed spool has run out of
line, or the line is twisted or tangled
Grass trimming
1. Always keep the machine at arm’s length with the trimmer head pointed away from your
body
2. Move the trimmer head across the area to be trimmed using a smooth sweeping motion
3. When approaching an edge or wall, do not allow the line to impact the wall or any other
hard vertical surface
4. Always be aware of the position of the power cord. Keep the power cord well away from
the cutting area at all times
Lawn edging
WARNING: Be careful when lawn edging as any excess line cut-off will be removed on a
vertical axis and if the tool is tilted it is possible it could be thrown towards the operator’s
eyes.
1. Put the tool into lawn edging mode with the Mode Selector (3)
2. Turn the tool over so the Edging Guard (4) is downwards
3. Carefully move the tool along, trimming only the excess grass over the edge of the earth
below
Accessories

Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect the tool from the power supply, before cleaning or
carrying out maintenance.
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They may vibrate loose over time
• Inspect the supply cord of the tool, prior to each use, for damage or wear. Repairs should
be carried out by an authorised GMC service centre. This advice also applies to extension
cords used with this tool
Replacing trimmer spool
1. Remove the spool by pushing in both Cover Release Grips (12) and removing the Spool
Housing Cover (11)
2. Remove the empty spool (Image G)
3. Fit the new spool into place (Image I)
4. Carefully remove the line held in the small indentation of the spool and fit through the Line
Eyelet (16) on the same side
5. Repeat Step 4 for the other side of the spool
6. Refit the Spool Housing Cover
Note: Adjust the length of the trimmer line to no longer than the Line Cut-Off Blade (14) as
any excess line will be cut off when the tool is operated.
Replacing the nylon cutting line on a spool
1. Cut a piece of nylon line approximately 2-3m in length and make a simple knot in the
middle of the line (Fig. I)
2. Fit the line over the top section of the spool and tighten the knot then wind in the direction
indicated on the top of the spool as arrowed in Image I
3. Wind the line around the spool in the top section (Image H) until a small amount of line is
left and can be secured in the indentation in the top of the spool as shown
4. Now wind the lower section in the same winding direction and secure again
• Ensure the line is wound cleanly in parallel
Lubrication
• Lubricate all moving parts with a suitable lubricant spray, at regular intervals
Cleaning
WARNING: ALWAYS wear protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when
cleaning this tool.
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the device’s service life
• Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sufficient, a mild
detergent on a damp cloth is recommended
• Water must never come into contact with the tool
• Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it
• If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes (where
applicable)
Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking
• If you suspect that the brushes may be worn, have them replaced at an authorised service
centre
Storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer
functional and are not viable for repair.
• Do not dispose of power tools, batteries or other waste electrical and electronic equipment
(WEEE), with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to dispose of
power tools and batteries

Specificaties
WAARSCHUWING: Bij een geluidsintensiteit van 85 dB(A) of hoger is het dragen van
gehoorbescherming en het limiteren van de blootstellingstijd vereist. Bij oncomfortabel
hoge geluidsniveaus, zelfs met het dragen van gehoorbescherming, stopt u het gebruik
van de machine onmiddellijk. Controleer de pasvorm en het geluiddempingsniveau van de
bescherming.
WAARSCHUWING: Blootstelling aan trilling resulteert mogelijk in gevoelloosheid, tinteling en
een vermindert gripvermogen. Langdurige blootstelling kan leiden tot chronische condities.
Limiteer de blootstellingsduur en draag anti-vibratie handschoenen. Vibratie heeft een grotere
invloed op handen met een temperatuur lager dan een normale, comfortabele temperatuur.
Maak gebruik van de informatie in de specificaties voor het bereken van de gebruiksduur en
frequentie van de machine.
Geluid- en trillingsniveaus in de specificatie zijn vastgesteld volgens EN60745 of een
gelijksoortige internationale norm. De waarden gelden voor een normaal gebruik in normale

c) Zorg ervoor dat het apparaat niet per ongeluk wordt gestart. Controleer of de
schakelaar in de ‘uit’ stand staat voordat u de stekker in het stopcontact steekt.
Het dragen van elektrisch gereedschap met uw vinger op de schakelaar of het aansluiten
op de stroom van elektrisch gereedschap met de schakelaar ingeschakeld kan tot
ongelukken leiden.
d) Verwijder alle stel- of moersleutels voordat u het elektrische gereedschap
inschakelt. Een moer- of stelsleutel die zich op een draaiend onderdeel van het
elektrische gereedschap bevindt, kan leiden tot letsel.
e) Reik niet te ver. Blijf altijd stevig en in balans staan. Zo houdt u meer controle over het
elektrische gereedschap in onverwachte situaties.
f) Draag geschikte kleding. Draag geen loshangende kleding of sieraden. Houd haren,
kleding en handschoenen uit de buurt van bewegende delen. Loshangende kleding,
sieraden en los hangende haren kunnen vast komen te zitten in bewegende delen.
g) Als er onderdelen voor stofafvoer- en stofverzameling worden meegeleverd, sluit
deze dan aan en gebruik deze op de juiste wijze. Het gebruik van deze onderdelen kan
het risico op stof gerelateerde ongelukken verminderen.
4) Gebruik en verzorging van elektrisch gereedschap
a) Forceer elektrisch gereedschap niet. Gebruik elektrisch gereedschap dat geschikt
is voor het werk dat u wilt uitvoeren. Geschikt elektrisch gereedschap werkt beter en
veiliger op een passende snelheid.
b) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap niet als de schakelaar van het apparaat niet
in- en uitschakelt. Elektrisch gereedschap dat niet bediend kan worden met de
schakelaar is gevaarlijk en moet gerepareerd worden.
c) Haal de stekker uit het stopcontact voordat u instellingen aanpast, toebehoren
verwisselt of het elektrische gereedschap opbergt. Dergelijke voorzorgsmaatregelen
verminderen het risico op het per ongeluk starten van het elektrische gereedschap.
d) Berg elektrisch gereedschap dat niet in gebruik is op buiten bereik van kinderen
en laat mensen die niet bekend zijn met het elektrische gereedschap of met deze
instructies het elektrische gereedschap niet bedienen. Elektrisch gereedschap is
gevaarlijk in de handen van onervaren gebruikers.
e) Onderhoud uw elektrisch gereedschap. Controleer op foutieve uitlijning of het
vastslaan van bewegende delen, gebroken onderdelen en elke andere afwijking
die de werking van het elektrische gereedschap zou kunnen beïnvloeden. Indien
het elektrische gereedschap beschadigd is, moet u het laten repareren voordat u
het weer gebruikt. Veel ongelukken worden veroorzaakt door slecht onderhouden
elektrisch gereedschap.
f) Houd snijwerktuigen scherp en schoon. Goed onderhouden snijwerktuigen met
scherpe messen slaan minder snel vast en zijn gemakkelijker te bedienen.
g) Gebruik het elektrische gereedschap, de accessoires en onderdelen, etc. volgens
deze instructies en volgens bestemming voor het specifieke type elektrisch
gereedschap, en houd daarbij rekening met de werkomstandigheden en het uit te
voeren werk. Gebruik van elektrisch gereedschap voor werkzaamheden die verschillen
van die waarvoor het apparaat bestemd is, kan leiden tot gevaarlijke situaties.
5) Onderhoud
a) Laat uw elektrische gereedschap onderhouden door een gekwalificeerde vakman en
gebruik alleen identieke vervangstukken. Zo bent u er zeker van dat de veiligheid van
het elektrische gereedschap gewaarborgd blijft.
Algemene veiligheid voor elektrisch gereedschap
WAARSCHUWING Lees alle bediening- en veiligheidsvoorschriften. Het niet opvolgen
van alle voorschriften die hieronder vermeld staan, kan resulteren in een elektrische schok,
brand en/of ernstig letsel.
WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen met een
verminderde mentale of fysieke gesteldheid of een gebrek aan ervaring, tenzij de persoon
wordt begeleid of geïnstrueerd door een persoon verantwoordelijk voor de veiligheid
Bewaar deze voorschriften voor toekomstig gebruik.
De term “elektrisch gereedschap” in alle hieronder vermelde waarschuwingen heeft
betrekking op uw elektrische gereedschap dat op de stroom is aangesloten (met een snoer)
of met een accu wordt gevoed (snoerloos).
Kinderen mogen niet met de machine spelen
1) Veiligheid in de werkruimte
a) Houd de werkruimte schoon en zorg voor een goede verlichting. Rommelige en
donkere ruimtes leiden vaak tot ongelukken.
b) Werk niet met elektrisch gereedschap in explosieve omgevingen, bijvoorbeeld in
de aanwezigheid van ontvlambare vloeistoffen, gassen of stof. Elektrisch
gereedschap brengt vonken teweeg die stof of dampen kunnen doen ontbranden.
c) Houd kinderen en omstanders uit de buurt wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap
bedient. Door afleiding kunt u de controle over het gereedschap verliezen.
2) Elektrische veiligheid
a) De stekkers van het elektrische gereedschap moeten passen bij het stopcontact.
Pas de stekker niet aan. Gebruik geen adapterstekkers bij geaard elektrisch
gereedschap. Het gebruik van ongewijzigde stekkers en passende stopcontacten
vermindert het risico op een elektrische schok.
b) Vermijd lichamelijk contact met geaarde oppervlakken zoals pijpen, radiatoren,
fornuizen en koelkasten. Het risico op een elektrische schok neemt toe als uw lichaam
geaard wordt.
c) Laat elektrisch gereedschap niet nat worden. Wanneer elektrisch gereedschap nat
wordt, neemt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.
d) Beschadig het snoer niet. Gebruik het snoer nooit om het elektrisch gereedschap te
dragen, te trekken of om de stekker uit het stopcontact te trekken. Houd het snoer
uit de buurt van hitte, olie, scherpe randen of bewegende delen. Een beschadigde of
in de knoop geraakte snoer verhoogt het risico op een elektrische schok toe.
e) Wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap buiten gebruikt, maak dan gebruik van een
verlengsnoer dat geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Gebruik een verlengsnoer dat
geschikt is voor gebruik buitenshuis om het risico op een elektrische schok te
verminderen.
f) Indien het onvermijdelijk is elektrisch gereedschap te gebruiken in een vochtige
omgeving, gebruik dan een energiebron met een aardlekschakelaar (Residual
Currency Device). Het gebruik van een RCD vermindert het risico op een elektrische
schok.
3) Persoonlijke veiligheid
a) Blijf alert en gebruik uw gezonde verstand wanneer u elektrisch gereedschap
bedient. Gebruik het elektrisch gereedschap niet wanneer u vermoeid bent of onder
invloed bent van drugs, alcohol of medicijnen. Onoplettendheid tijdens het bedienen
van elektrisch gereedschap kan leiden tot ernstig letsel.
b) Maak gebruik van persoonlijke bescherming. Draag altijd een veiligheidsbril.
Passende bescherming voor de omstandigheden, zoals een stofmasker, niet-slippende
veiligheidsschoenen een helm of gehoorbescherming, vermindert het risico op persoonlijk
letsel.

Trimmer veiligheid
WAARSCHUWING: Houdt de machine te allen tijde bij het geïsoleerde handvat vast.
Zo minimaliseert u de kans op elektrische schok wanneer het blad, of enig ander metalen
deel van de machine in contact komt met stroomdraad
WAARSCHUWING: Wanneer het blad tijdens gebruik vast loopt, stopt u de machine
onmiddellijk. Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron voordat u het vastgelopen nylon
draad ontknoopt
WAARSCHUWING: Gebruik de machine niet met een overmatige draadlengte,
vooral bij het gebruik voor het maaien van graskanten. Delen van het draad worden
mogelijk afgesneden en kunnen in het gezocht van de gebruiker vliegen
WAARSCHUWING: Houdt uw handen en voeten uit de buurt van het maaidraad
wanneer de machine aangesloten is op de stroombron. De accidentele inschakeling van
de machine resulteert mogelijk in ernstige ongelukken
WAARSCHUWING: Houdt de stroomsnoer uit de buurt van het snoeigebied.
Snoerbeschadiging leidt mogelijk tot elektrische schok
WAARSCHUWING: De machine is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen met
een verminderde mentale of fysieke gesteldheid of een gebrek aan ervaring, tenzij de
persoon wordt begeleid of geïnstrueerd door een persoon verantwoordelijk voor de
veiligheid. Kinderen mogen niet met de machine spelen
a) Controleren het gebied op verborgen voorwerpen als bedrading, beton, stenen,
hekwerk, kabels enz. Zorg ervoor dat het te snoeien materiaal vrij is van obstakels
alvorens met de klus te beginnen
b) Draag te allen tijde geschikte veiligheidsuitrusting. Handschoenen, een veiligheidsbril
of gezichtsmasker, een stofmasker, oorbeschermers, een helm en stevige kleding zijn
vereist
c) Je lichamelijke conditie zelf beoordelen. Gebruik de machine niet wanneer vermoeid,
onwel of onder invloed van verdovende middelen als drugs of alcohol
d) Controleren of anderen op een veilige afstand van de werkplek staan alvorens met
de klus te beginnen. Start het werk niet voordat het werkgebied veilig is
e) Gebruik de machine niet in natte omstandigheden. Zorg ervoor dat het te snoeien
materiaal droog is alvorens met de klus te beginnen
f) Gebruik de machine niet wanneer beschermkappen ontbreken of beschadigd zijn
g) De machine dient enkel rechtop gebruikt te worden, met de haspel of het snijmes
dicht bij de grond
h) Loop langzaam wanneer u de machine draagt. Pas gemaaid gras of gesnoeide
struiken zijn glad en kunnen hindernissen verbergen
i) Maak enkel gebruik van authentiek nylon snoeidraad of gespecialiseerde
snijmessen. Het gebruik van andere soorten snij middelen is zeer gevaarlijk
j) Houd uw armen en benen tijdens het snoeien uit de buurt van het snijmes/
maaidraad. Sta altijd in een stabiele houding uit de buurt van de plek waar gesnoeid
wordt
k) Wees voorbereid op mogelijke terugslag. Onder sommige omstandigheden, bij onjuist
gebruik, kan de bosmaaier terugslaan in de richting van de gebruiker
l) Zet de bosmaaier uit voordat u grindpaden of wegen oversteekt
m) Houdt de motor ventilatiegaten vrij van vuil en stof. Zo behoudt de motor een veilige
gebruikstemperatuur
n) Laat de machine niet onbeheerd buiten achter wanneer het mogelijk gaat regenen.
Plaats de machine op een veilige regenbestendige buitenplek of neem de machine mee
naar binnen om de kans op elektrische gevaren en beschadiging te voorkomen
o) In warme omstandigheden stopt de machine tijdens gebruik mogelijk plotseling
dankzij oververhitting van de motor/accu. Gebruik de machine niet voordat deze
volledig afgekoeld is. Voorkom het gebruik van de machine wanneer mogelijk in de
hoogste/middag temperaturen en gebruik de machine zoveel mogelijk in schaduw
BELANGRIJK: Schakel de machine en ontkoppel de van de stroombron wanneer:
• De machine onbeheerd achtergelaten wordt
• De spoel vervangen gaat worden
• De stroomsnoer in de knoop zit
• U de machine onderhoudt

Het uitpakken van uw gereedschap
• Pak uw toestel / gereedschap uit. Inspecteer het en zorg dat u met alle kenmerken en
functies vertrouwd raakt
• Controleer of alle onderdelen aanwezig zijn en in goede staat verkeren. Als er onderdelen
ontbreken of beschadigd zijn, zorg dan dat deze vervangen worden voor u dit toestel /
gereedschap gebruikt
Voor gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron voordat u accessoires
wisselt of enige aanpassingen maakt
Samenstellen van de trimmer
1. De beschermkap (13) klikt in positie als aangeduid door de drie pijlen in afbeelding A
2. Vergrendel de beschermkap in plaats met behulp van de inbegrepen schroeven, als
aangeduid in afbeelding B en C. Draai de schroeven niet t ever vast
3. Bevestig het hulphandvat (1) door het indrukken van het veermechanisme, als aangeduid
door de pijlen in afbeelding D
4. Schuif het handvat over als aangeduid in afbeelding E
5. Druk het veermechanisme in als aangeduid in afbeelding F, voor het verstellen naar de
rechter positie
6. Stel de machine in de gewenste lengte door het gedeeltelijk losschroeven van de
lengtesteller (2). Verstel de lengte en draai de lengtesteller vast
7. Verlaag de randbeugel (4) in de open positie. De beugel klikt in de open en gesloten
positie vast

Standselectie
1. Houdt stand selectieschakelaar (3) ingedrukt en draai de trimmerkop 180°
2. Laat u de schakelaar los. Controleer of de kop juist vergrendeld is door deze te proberen
te draaien zonder het indrukken van de vergrendelschakelaar

Gebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Het gebruik van een aardlekschakelaar verlaagt de kans op een
elektrische schok bij het buitengebruik van elektrische machines
WAARSCHUWING: Controleer of verlengsnoeren geschikt zijn voor buitengebruik
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het gebruik van de machine is het dragen van de geschikte
beschermende uitrusting, waaronder gehoorbescherming, en een stofmasker aanbevolen
Snoerondersteuning
Lus een klein deel van het stroomsnoer om de snoerhaak (7) om het direct trekken van de
snoer aan de snoerbevestiging tijdens gebruik van de machine te voorkomen. Na het gebruik
hangt u het opgerolde stroomsnoer om de haak
Het in- en uitschakelen van de machine
1. Houdt de machine stevig bij de handvaten (1+9) vast
2. Om de machine in te schakelen knijpt u de veiligheidsschakelaar (10) in, gevolgd door de
trekker schakelaar (8). Om de machine uit te schakelen laat u de trekker schakelaar los
Het voeden van het snoeidraad
Let op: De machine is niet voorzien van een stootvoeding spoelkop
• De machine voedt een kleine hoeveelheid snoeidraad wanneer de machine wordt
ingeschakeld. Knijp de trekker schakelaar (8) een aantal keren in voor het voeden van de
gewenste hoeveelheid snoeidraad
• De machine is voorzien van een handmatige voedknop (15)
• Wanneer geen van deze twee functies werkt is het snoeidraad mogelijk op, gedraaid of in
de knoop geraakt
Trimmen
1. Houdt de machine te allen tijde op armlengte, met de kop naar beneden wijzend
2. Beweeg de kop met een soepele beweging heen en weer over het te snoeien gebied
3. Ben uiterst voorzichtig wanneer u een rand of muur nadert. Het snoeidraad mag niet in
contact komen met muren of andere verticale oppervlakken
4. Let te allen tijde op de positie van het stroomsnoer. Houdt het stroomsnoer uit de buurt
van de snoeikop
Het snoeien van graskanten
WAARSCHUWING: Ben uiterst voorzichtig bij het snoeien van graskanten. Overtollig
snoeidraad wordt door de verticale as afgesneden en mogelijk in de richting van de gebruiker
afgevuurd
1. Plaats de machine met behulp van de stand selectieschakelaar (3) in de graskant stand
2. Draai de machine zodat de randbeugel (4) uitgeklapt is
3. Beweeg de machine langzaam over het gras zodat het uitstekende gras gesnoeid wordt

• Verschillende accessoires en verbruiksmiddelen, waaronder spoelen en snoeidraad,

Onderhoud
WAARSCHUWING: Ontkoppel de machine van de stroombron voordat u enig onderhoud
uitvoert
Algemene inspectie
• Controleer regelmatig of alle bevestigingsmiddelen nog goed vast zitten. Door vibratie
kunnen ze na enige tijd los gaan zitten
• Inspecteer het stroomsnoer voor elk gebruik op slijtage en beschadiging. Reparaties
dienen uitgevoerd worden bij een geautoriseerd GMC service center. Dit geld tevens voor
verlengsnoeren, gebruikt met de machine
Het vervangen van de spoel
1. Verwijder de spoel door het indrukken van beide verlosschakels (12) en het verwijderen
van de spoelbehuizingkap (11)
2. Verwijder de lege spoel (Afbeelding G)
3. Plaats de nieuwe spoel in plaats (Afbeelding I)
4. Verwijder de lijn in de kleine indeuk van de spoel (Afbeelding B) voorzichtig en plaats deze
door het oog (16) aan dezelfde kant
5. Herhaal stap 4 voor de andere zijde van de spoel
6. Bevestig de spoelbehuizingkap
Let op: Verstel de lengte van het snoeidraad zodat het niet verder dan het snoeidraad
snijblad (14) uitsteekt. Overmatig draad wordt tijdens gebruik afgesneden, wat erg gevaarlijk
kan zijn
Het vervangen van het nylon snoeidraad op de spoel
1. Snij een klein deel (2-3 m) van het snoeidraad en maak een knop in het midden van de
draad (Fig. I)
2. Plaats de draad over de boven sectie van de spoel en maak de knop vast door het
wikkelen van de draad in de richting, aangeduid op de spoel (Afbeelding I)
3. Wikkel de draad om de spoel (Afbeelding H) tot een klein deel van de draad overblijft, wat
in de inkeping aan de bovenzijde van de spoel vergrendeld kan worden
4. Wikkel het onderste deel van de draad in dezelfde richting in de onderste spoelsectie en
vergrendel in de inkeping
• Zorg ervoor dat de draad netjes op de spoel gewikkeld wordt
Smeren
• Smeer alle bewegende onderdelen regelmatig met een geschikt smeermiddel
Schoonmaak
WAARSCHUWING: Bij het schoonmaken van de eenheid is het dragen van de juiste
beschermende uitrusting, waaronder een veiligheidsbril en handschoenen, aanbevolen
• Houd uw machine te allen tijde schoon. Vuil en stof doen de interne onderdelen sneller
slijten, wat de levensduur van de machine aanzienlijk vermindert
• Maak de behuizing van de machine met een zachte borstel of droge doek schoon
• Maak de plastic onderdelen niet met bijtende middelen schoon. Maak gebruik van een licht
schoonmaakmiddel en een vochtige doek
• De machine mag niet in contact komen met water
• Zorg ervoor dat de machine volledig droog is voordat u deze gebruikt
• Gebruik wanneer mogelijk zuivere, droge perslucht om door de luchtgaten te blazen
Koolstofborstels
• Na verloop van tijd zullen de koolborstels in de motor verslijten.
• Bij overmatige slijtage van de borstels verliest de motor mogelijk vermogen, start het niet
meer, en/ of produceert het overmatig vonken.
• Wanneer u vermoedt dat de borstels versleten zijn, laat u deze bij een erkend
servicecenter vervangen

Caractéristiques techniques
Attention : Toujours porter des protections sonores lorsque le niveau d’intensité est supérieur
à 85 dB(A) et limiter le temps d’exposition si nécessaire. Si l’intensité sonore devient
inconfortable, même avec les protections, arrêter immédiatement d’utiliser l’appareil, vérifier
que les protections soient bien mises et qu’elles soient adéquates avec le niveau sonore
produit par l’appareil.
Attention : L’exposition de l’utilisateur aux vibrations peut engendrer une perte du toucher,

e. Ne pas essayer d’atteindre une zone hors de portée. Se tenir toujours en position
stable et conserver l’équilibre. Cela permet de mieux contrôler l’outil électrique dans des
situations inattendues.
f. Porter des vêtements appropriés. Ne pas porter de vêtements amples ou des bijoux
pendants. Les vêtements amples, les bijoux pendants ou les cheveux longs peuvent être
happé par les pièces en mouvement.
g. Si l’outil est pourvu de dispositifs destinés au raccord d’équipements d’extraction
et de récupération de la poussière/sciure, s’assurer qu’ils soient bien fixés et
utilisés correctement. L’utilisation de ces dispositifs peut réduire les risques dus à la
poussière.
4) Utilisation et entretien des outils électriques
a. Ne pas surcharger l’outil électrique. Utiliser l’outil électrique approprié au travail
à effectuer. Un outil électrique adapté et employé au rythme pour lequel il a été conçu
permettra de réaliser un travail de meilleure qualité et dans de meilleures conditions de
sécurité.
b. Ne pas utiliser un outil électrique dont l’interrupteur marche-arrêt est hors service.
Tout outil électrique dont la commande ne s’effectue plus par l’interrupteur marche-arrêt
est dangereux et doit être réparé.
c. Débrancher l’outil électrique avant d’effectuer tout réglage, changement
d’accessoire ou avant de le ranger. De telles mesures préventives réduiront les risques
de démarrage accidentel.
d. Ranger les outils électriques inutilisés hors de portée des enfants et ne pas
permettre l’utilisation de ces outils aux personnes novices ou n’ayant pas
connaissance de ces instructions. Les outils électriques sont dangereux dans les mains
d’utilisateurs inexpérimentés.
e. Veiller à l’entretien des outils électriques. Vérifier que les éléments rotatifs
soient bien alignés et non grippés. S’assurer de l’absence de pièces cassées
ou endommagées susceptibles de nuire au bon fonctionnement de l'outil. Si
l’outil électrique est endommagé, le faire réparer avant toute utilisation. De nombreux
accidents sont causés par l’utilisation d’outils électriques mal entretenus.
f. Garder les outils de coupe affûtés et propres. Des outils de coupe bien entretenus, aux
tranchants bien affûtés, sont moins susceptibles de se gripper et sont plus faciles à
contrôler.
g. Utiliser l’outil électrique, les accessoires et les outils à monter, etc., conformément
à ces instructions et selon l’utilisation prévue pour le type d’outil donné, en tenant
compte des conditions de travail et de la tâche à réaliser. Toute utilisation de cet outil
électrique autre que celle pour laquelle il a été conçu peut entraîner des situations à risque
et entraînerait une annulation de sa garantie.
5) Entretien
a) Ne faire réparer l’outil électrique que par un réparateur qualifié utilisant uniquement
des pièces de rechange identiques. Cela permettra d’assurer la sûreté continue de cet
outil électrique.

Le terme « outil électrique » dans ces consignes concerne les outils branchés (filaires) ou à
batteries (électroportatifs).
1) Sécurité sur la zone de travail
a. Maintenir une zone de travail propre et bien éclairée. Des zones encombrées et mal
éclairées sont sources d’accidents.
b. Ne pas utiliser d’outils électriques dans des environnements explosifs, tels qu’à
proximité de liquides, de gaz ou de poussières inflammables. Les outils électriques
produisent des étincelles susceptibles d’enflammer la poussière ou les vapeurs présentes.
c. Éloigner les enfants et les passants pendant l’utilisation d’un outil électrique.
Ceux-ci pourraient vous distraire et vous faire perdre la maîtrise de l’appareil.
2) Sécurité électrique
a. Les prises des outils électriques doivent correspondre aux prises du secteur. Ne
modifiez jamais la prise en aucune façon. N’utilisez jamais d’adaptateur avec les
outils électriques mis à la terre. Des prises non modifiées, adaptées aux boîtiers de
prise de courant, réduiront les risques de décharge électrique.
b. Éviter le contact corporel avec les surfaces mises à la terre telles que tuyaux,
radiateurs, cuisinières et réfrigérateurs. Le risque de décharge électrique est plus
important si votre corps est mis à la terre.
c. Ne pas exposer votre outil électrique à la pluie ou à l’humidité. L’infiltration d’eau dans
un outil électrique augmentera le risque de décharge électrique.
d. Ne pas maltraiter le cordon électrique. N’utilisez jamais le cordon électrique pour
porter, tirer ou débrancher l’outil électrique. Conservez le cordon électrique à l’écart
de la chaleur, de l’essence, de bords tranchants ou de pièces en mouvement. Un
cordon électrique endommagé ou entortillé accroît le risque de décharge électrique.
e. Au cas où l’outil électroportatif serait utilisé à l’extérieur, servez-vous d’une rallonge
appropriée à une utilisation en extérieur. Cela réduit le risque de décharge électrique.
f. Si une utilisation de l’outil dans un environnement humide ne peut être évitée,
utilisez une alimentation protégée par un disjoncteur différentiel. L’utilisation d’un
disjoncteur différentiel réduit le risque de décharge électrique.
3) Sécurité des personnes
a. Rester vigilant et faire preuve de sens lors de la manipulation de l’outil. Ne pas
utiliser d’outil électrique en état de fatigue ou sous l’influence de drogues, d’alcool
ou de médicaments. Un moment d’inattention pendant l’utilisation d’un outil électrique
peut se traduire par des blessures graves.
b. Porter des équipements de protection. Porter toujours des lunettes de protection.
Le port d’équipements de protection tels que des masques à poussières, des chaussures
de sécurité antidérapantes, un casque de sécurité ou des protections antibruit, selon le
travail à effectuer, réduira le risque de blessures aux personnes.
c. Éviter tout démarrage accidentel. S’assurer que l’interrupteur marche-arrêt soit en
position d’arrêt (Off) avant de brancher l’outil sur l’alimentation secteur. Porter
un outil électrique tout en maintenant le doigt posé sur l’interrupteur ou brancher un outil
électrique dont l’interrupteur est sur la position de marche (On) est source d’accidents.
d. Enlever toute clé ou tout instrument de réglage avant de mettre l’outil électrique en
marche. Une clé ou un instrument de réglage laissé fixé à un élément en rotation de l’outil
électrique peut entraîner des blessures physiques.
