The Gpacers Poseidon Tracker is an aid to your safety. It is not a life-saving device.
Radio Frequency afety tatement
The Gp cers Poseidon Tr cker is r dio frequency product developed with the l test IoT technology nd
should comply with RF regul tions when using.
Misuse of GPT’s DISTRESS Function m y c use unnecess ry rescue efforts.
Ple se ONLY use the DISTRESS Function in c se of emergency nd only use the C ll Function during
ctu l situ tions.
The ntenn nd the b tteries re ssembled nd se led inside the w terproof housing. If ny
component needs to be repl ced, ple se ship the product b ck to Gp cers Technology or qu lified
distributors. Any modific tion or customiz tion without permission might h rm the product or
viol te the regul tions. Ple se DO NOT repl ce the ntenn or b ttery without uthoriz tion.
The GPT uses two 18650 lithium b tteries.
Ple se re d these instructions c refully. F ilure to follow the guidelines in this m nu l m y

1 Gpacers Poseidon Tracker Overview
1.1 ystem Overview
The Poseidon Tr cker is single tr nsceiver th t integr tes tr nsmitting, receiving nd rel y functions.
Designed for use in v riety of extreme sports such s: mount ineering, diving, s iling...etc. It c n lso be
pplied to protect s fety on c mpus, in the community, nd for women t night.
The Poseidon Tr cker System cont ins t le st two tr nsceivers, one set to tr nsmit mode, one set to
receive mode nd sm rt device running the App s the control console. In some pplic tions, such s
emergency rescue, nother tr nsceiver set to be repe ter c n extend its effective communic tion r nge
to hundreds of kilometers.
It c n be set to Tr nsmitter mode to tr nsmit d t , c rried by n individu l or independently
flo ting on the w ter. The d t is tr nsmitted to receiver by RF sign l nd the Wi-Fi function is
not oper ted when used in this mode.
A Tr nsceiver c n lso be set to Receiver mode nd fixed t higher ltitude on the ship or on the
shore. In this us ge mode, it tr nsmits the d t to mobile device by Wi-Fi, the RF only receiving,
but not sending d t .
The tr nsceiver c n lso be set s repe ter, pl ced t higher ltitude or tt ched to drone to
overcome communic tion obst cles of v rious terr in fe tures. When using s repe ter, the
receiver c n be pl ced on the ground or t ny loc tion where rel y sign ls c n be received. This
pplic tion is simil r to s tellite system. The repe ter is simil r to surveill nce s tellite. The
receiver connects to the App inst lled on mobile device, simil r to ground st tion.

5
The Tr nsmitter c rried by n individu l c n receive GPS d t nd tr nsmit ID, st tus nd coordin tes to
the Receiver. Under norm l we ther conditions, depending on the height set by the receiver, the m ximum
tr nsmission dist nce c n exceed 200 km.
The pp console designed for the system h s powerful nd user-friendly interf ce.
The relev nt s fety personnel use mobile device, sm rt phone or t blet, to connect with the receiver.
The App inst lled on the mobile device c n perform the s fety surveill nce t sks.

6
All tr nsmitters within the effective r nge c n be monitored t the s me time, nd the App c n issue
different preventive l rms to void the occurrence of d nger nd/or to improve the efficiency of the
rescue.

Note: Transmission Distance of the GPT
The theoretic l dist nce of GPT in free p th tr nsmission re ches 900 km. However, in re l
environment, there re v rious sources of interference. The me sured results show th t in Line Of Sight
tr nsmission, dist nces c n often exceed 200 km.
In l nd pplic tions, the tr nsmission dist nce is m inly limited by obst cles of the terr in.
And t se , m ny f ctors ffect the effective tr nsmission dist nce of the system, such s we ther
conditions, humidity, wind nd w ves; in ddition, the w y the GPT is used, whether h nd held or freely
flo ting on the w ter, the se level ltitude of the receiver, nd the ntenn g in etc. lso ffect the
tr nsmission r nge.
In m rine pplic tions, the
curv ture of the e rth is the m jor
constr int to the tr nsmission
dist nce. The higher the ltitude t
which the receiver nd tr nsmitter
re pl ced, the f rther the
tr nsmission dist nce is. In bsence
of obst cles between the tr nsmitter
nd the receiver, the m ximum
tr nsmission dist nce ( km
) of the
GPT system is shown in the t ble on
the right. While the effective st ble
tr nsmission dist nce is bout 70%
of the m ximum tr nsmission
dist nce.
