3.Attachtheairregulatorbyscrewingitintothe
swivelconnector.
4.Installaplug(E)intheportoppositetheregulator
(thisisnecessaryformotoroperation).
5.Attachtheairgauge(J)byscrewingitintothe
holeinthetopoftheairregulator.
6.Installaplug(E)intheregulatorintheport
oppositetheairgauge.

1,3–12,and14–15(models25C539,25C540,
25C541).
1.Relievepressurefromthesystem(if
applicable)byfollowingtheprocedureinthe
PressureReliefProcedure,page11,andremove
thepressuretankcoverfromthetank.
2.Unscrewandremovethehexjamnut(49),plug
(P),ando-ring(R)fromthetankcover.
3.RemovetheupperU-bolt(56).
4.Loosenthetwoagitatorpaddlesetscrews(46)
andremovetheagitatorpaddle(45).
5.On10and15gallontanks,removethelower
U-bolt(56),loosenscrews(54),andslidethe
baf󰘱e(53)offthe󰘱uidtube(12).
6.Unscrewandremovethehexjamnut(49),
gasket(50),andagitatorfromthetankcover.
7.Toinstallthenewagitator,placethegasket(50)
ontopofthetankcovercenterhole.Insertthe
agitatorshaft(47)throughthegasketandcenter
hole.

8.Installthejamnut(49)belowthetankcover,
andtighten󰘰rmlytoassureasealbetweenthe
gasket(50)andtankcover.
9.Installtheshaftsupport(44)ontotheshaft

•For10and15gallontanks:Alignthetopofthe
paddlehubwiththelowermarkontheagitator
shaft.
•For5gallontanks:Ifa5gallonpailistobe
placedinsidethepressuretank,alignthetop
ofthepaddlehubwiththeuppermarkonthe
agitatorshaft.Ifapailisnottobeplacedinside
thetank,alignthetopofthehubwiththelower
markontheagitatorshaft.Afterthepaddleis
properlyaligned,applylowstrengthsealantto
thetwosetscrews(46)and󰘰rmlysecurethe
paddle.
14.Removetheplugorexistingelbowfromtheair
inletmanifold(5).Installthenewelbow(69)into
thepressuretankairinletmanifold.
15.Connecttheswivelendoftheairhose(70)to
theelbow(69).

directlyintothetank)toabout3or4inches(75
to100mm)abovetheagitatorblade.
Ifutilizinga5-gallontank,useoneofthefollowing
methodsforpaintplacement:
a.Removethecoverandplacea5-gallonpail
of󰘱uidinthe5-gallontank.
b.Removethecoverandplacea5-gallon
antistaticpolyethylenelinerinthe5-gallon
tank.Pourthe󰘱uidintotheantistatic
polyethyleneliner.
NOTE:Ifa5-gallonpailisusedinsidethe
tank,anadjustmentisrequiredtotheagitator
paddlepositiontoavoidinterference.See
step12inAgitator,page7foradjustment

regulatorvalve(38).Adjustthespeedofthe
agitator,toabout40to60rpm,ifneeded.
7.Openandadjustthetankairregulator(31)tothe
approximatepressuredesired.
8.Openthe󰘱uidoutletballvalve(18).
9.Turnontheatomizingairtotheairspraygun.
Testsprayasmallareaandadjustthepressure
asnecessary.Alwaysusethelowestpossibleair
pressuretoobtainthedesiredresults.
10.Tostoptheagitator,turntheairregulator
counterclockwisetoreducepressuretozero,or
closetheairinletballvalve(17)tothetank.
