Sicherheitshinweise
Dieses Gerät entspricht den vorgeschriebenen
Sicherheitsbestimmungen. Ein unsachgemäßer
Gebrauch kann jedoch zu Personen- und Sach-
schäden führen.
Beachten Sie für einen sicheren Umgang mit dem
Gerät die folgenden Sicherheitshinweise:
•Kontrollieren Sie das Gerät vor der Verwen-
dung auf äußere sichtbare Schäden am Gehäu-
se, dem Anschlusskabel und -stecker. Nehmen
Sie ein beschädigtes Gerät nicht in Betrieb.
•Reparaturen dürfen nur von einem Fachmann
oder vom Graef-Kundendienst ausgeführt wer-
den. Durch unsachgemäße Reparaturen kön-
nen erhebliche Gefahren für den Benutzer ent-
stehen. Zudem erlischt der Garantieanspruch.
•Defekte Bauteile dürfen nur gegen Original-Er-
satzteile ausgetauscht werden. Nur bei diesen
Teilen ist gewährleistet, dass sie die Sicherheits-
anforderungen erfüllen werden.
•Dieses Gerät kann von Kindern ab 8 Jahren und
darüber benutzt werden sowie von Personen
mit reduzierten physischen, sensorischen oder
mentalen Fähigkeiten oder Mangel an Erfah-
rung und/oder Wissen benutzt werden, wenn
sie beaufsichtigt oder bezüglich des sicheren
Gebrauchs des Gerätes unterwiesen wurden
und die daraus resultierenden Gefahren ver-
standen haben. Reinigung und Benutzer-War-
tung dürfen nicht von Kindern durchgeführt
werden, es sei denn Sie werden beaufsichtigt.
•Das Gerät und seine Anschlussleitung sind von
Kindern jünger als 8 Jahren fernzuhalten.
•Kinder sollten beaufsichtigt werden, um sicher-
zustellen, dass sie nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

•Öffnen Sie auf keinen Fall das Gehäuse des Ge-
rätes. Werden spannungsführende Anschlüsse
berührt und der elektrische und mechanische
Aufbau verändert, besteht Stromschlaggefahr.
Niemals unter Spannung stehende Teile berüh-
ren. Diese können einen elektrischen Schlag
verursachen oder sogar zum Tode führen.
•Vergleichen Sie vor dem Anschließen des Ge-
rätes die Anschlussdaten (Spannung und Fre-
quenz) auf dem Typenschild mit denen Ihres
Elektronetzes. Diese Daten müssen überein-
stimmen, damit keine Schäden am Gerät auf-
treten.
•Achten Sie darauf, dass das Stromkabel nir-
gendwo hängen bleibt und zum Fall des Gerä-
tes führen könnte.
•Verpackungsmaterialien dürfen nicht zum Spie-
len verwendet werden. Es besteht Erstickungs-
gefahr.
•Die Brotschlitze dürfen nicht abgedeckt wer-
den, es besteht Brandgefahr.
•Brot kann brennen nutzen Sie daher den Toaster
nichtinderNäheoderunterleichtentamm-
baren Materialien wie z.B. Gardinen.
•Achten Sie darauf, dass die Lift-Taste immer
freibeweglich ist, ansonsten kann der Toaster
nicht automatisch abschalten, da die Lift-Taste
elektromagnetisch festgehalten wird.
•Greifen Sie niemals mit den Fingern in die Brot-
schlitze.
•Stecken Sie keine Gegenstände aus Metall,
Kunststoff oder ähnlichen Materialien in die
Brotschlitze.
•Betreiben Sie das Gerät niemals ohne Krümel-
schublade.
•Benutzen Sie das Gerät nur im aufrechten Zu-
stand, nehmen Sie das Gerät niemals in Be-
trieb, wenn es auf der Seite oder verkehrt her-

um liegt.
•Wenn sich das Röstgut verklemmt, ziehen Sie
den Netzstecker, lassen Sie das Gerät abküh-
len und entnehmen Sie vorsichtig das Röstgut.
Achten Sie darauf, dass Sie die Heizelemente
nicht berühren.
•Leeren Sie die Krümelschublade regelmäßig.
•Ziehen Sie vor der Reinigung, den Netzstecker.
•Lassen Sie das Gerät vor jeder Reinigung ab-
kühlen.
•Benutzen Sie keine aggressiven oder scheuern-
den Reinigungsmittel und keine Lösungsmittel.
•Kratzen Sie hartnäckige Verschmutzungen
nicht mit harten Gegenständen ab.
•Achten Sie darauf, dass kene Flüssigkeit in das
Geräteinnere gelangt.
Vor dem Erstgebrauch
Bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme betreiben Sie das
Gerät 1 - 2 Mal ohne Röstgut auf höchster Stu-
fe, da eine leichte Geruchsentwicklung aufgrund
von eventuellen Staubrückständen auf den Heiz-
stäben entstehen kann.
Auspacken
Zum Auspacken des Gerätes gehen Sie wie folgt
vor:
•Entnehmen Sie das Gerät aus dem Karton.
•Entfernen Sie alle Verpackungsteile.
•Entfernen Sie eventuelle Aufkleber an dem Ge-
rät (nicht das Typenschild entfernen).
Anforderungen an den Aufstellort
Für einen sicheren und fehlerfreien Betrieb des
Gerätes muss der Aufstellort folgende Voraus-
setzungen erfüllen:
•DasGerätmussaufeinerfesten,achen,waa-
gerechten, rutschfesten und hitzebeständigen
Unterlage mit einer ausreichenden Tragkraft
aufgestellt werden.
•Wählen Sie den Aufstellort so, dass Kinder
nichtanheißeOberächendesGerätesgelan-
gen können.
•Das Gerät ist nicht für den Einbau in einer Wand
oder einem Einbauschrank vorgesehen.
•Stellen Sie das Gerät nicht in einer heißen, nas-
sen oder feuchten Umgebung auf.
•Die Steckdose muss leicht zugänglich sein, so

dass das Stromkabel notfalls leicht abgezogen
werden kann.
•Das Gerät hat eine starke Wärmeabstrahlung
nach oben. Stellen Sie das Gerät niemals un-
ter einen Schrank, unter Gardinen oder neben
brennbaren Materialien.
•Stellen Sie das Gerät niemals in die Nähe von
Papier, Stoff oder ähnlichen Materialien. Das
Brot kann brennen.
Toasten
Schließen Sie das Gerät an das Stromnetz an:
•Legen Sie das Röstgut in die Schlitze
•Wählen Sie den gewünschten Bräunungsgrad
(1 hell - 6 sehr dunkel)
•Drücken Sie die Lift-Taste nach unten bis diese
einrastet.
Nachhebevorrichtung
Die Nachhebevorrichtung erleichtert Ihnen das
Herausnehmen des Röstgutes.
Heben Sie die Lift-Taste an und entnehmen Sie
das Röstgut.
Brotscheibenzentrierung
Es ist egal, ob Sie große, kleine, dicke oder dün-
ne Brotscheiben toasten möchten, die Brotschei-
benzentrierung bringt Ihr Röstgut immer in die
richtige Position und sorgt für ein gleichmäßiges
Bräunungsergebnis auf beiden Seiten.
Brötchenaufsatz
Der Brötchenaufsatz dient auch als Warmhalte-
funktion für Ihr frisch getoastetes Brot. Legen Sie
einfach das Röstgut auf den Brötchenaufsatz.
Defrost Funktion
Ein Einstellen des Reglerknopfes ist nicht not-
wendig, da die Auftauzeit vorgegeben ist.
•Legen Sie das gefrorene Röstgut in die Brot-
schlitze.
•Drücken Sie die *Taste.
•Anschließend drücken Sie die Lift-Taste nach
unten bis diese einrastet.
Stopp Funktion
•Drücken Sie die Stopp-Taste.
•Der Röstvorgang wird unterbrochen.

Brötchen aufbacken
Um Brötchen aufzubacken, gehen Sie wie folgt
vor:
•Setzen Sie den Brötchenaufsatz auf das Gerät.
•Legen Sie die Brötchen auf den Brötchenauf-
satz.
•Stellen Sie den Bräungsgradregler zwischen
Stufe 2 und 3.
•Drücken Sie die Lift-Taste nach unten bis diese
einrastet.
•Wenn die Lift-Taste wieder oben ist, wenden
Sie einmal das Brötchen und wiederholen Sie
den Vorgang.
Der Brötchenaufsatz wird beim Toasten heiß,
nicht anfassen. Fassen Sie den Brötchenaufsatz
nur am Haltegriff an.
Reinigung
•Reinigen Sie die Außenächen des Gerätes
mit einem weichen, angefeuchteten Tuch. Bei
starker Verschmutzung kann ein mildes Reini-
gungsmittel verwendet werden.
•Herabgefallene Krümel sammeln sich in der
Krümelschublade.
•Drücken Sie die „Push“-Taste.
•Entnehmen Sie die Krümelschublade und ent-
fernen Sie die Krümel.
•Setzen Sie die Krümelschublade wieder ein.
Kundendienst
Sollte es vorkommen, dass Ihr Graef-Gerät ei-
nen Schaden hat, wenden Sie sich bitte an Ihren
Fachhändler oder an den Graef-Kundendienst.

Safety instructions
This unit complies with the statutory safety regu-
lations. Improper use can, however, lead to per-
sonal injury and property damage.
To handle the unit safely, follow the instructions
below:
•Check the unit for external, visible damage to
the housing, the connector cable and the plug
before using it. Do not put a damaged unit into
operation.
•To prevent hazards, if the machine’s connection
cable is damaged, solely the manufacturer or
its customer service department or a similarly
qualiedpersonispermittedtoreplaceit.
•Repairs are only allowed to be performed by a
specialist or by the Graef customer service de-
partment. Improper repairs can lead to extreme
hazards for the user. Furthermore, the right to
warranty claim expires.
•Defective components must be replaced sole-
lywithgenuinespareparts.Fullmentofthe
safety regulations is only guaranteed if these
parts are used.
•This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and persons with re-
duced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or instruction con-
cerning use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and
user maintenance shall not be made by children
unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
•Children shall not play with the appliance.
•Keep the appliance and its cord out of the reach
of children less than 8 years.
•The unit is not intended to be used with an
external timer or a separate remote-control sys-
tem.
•This unit is intended to be used in household
and similar applications such as: staff kitchen
areasin shops, ofcesand other working envi-
ronments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, mo-
tels and other residental type environments; bed
and breakfast type environments.
•If the supply cord is damaged, it must be re-
placed by the manufacturer, its service or simi-

larlyqualiedpersonsinordertoavoidahaz-
ard.
•Do not use the unit if the connection cable or
plug is damaged.
•To prevent hazards, before continuing to use
the unit have a new connection cable installed
solely by the manufacturer or its customer ser-
vicedepartmentorasimilarlyqualiedperson
•Never open the unit housing under any circum-
stances. If live connections are touched and
the electrical or mechanical structure changes,
there is a danger of electric shock.
•Never touch any parts that are conducting elec-
tricity. They can cause an electric shock or even
lead to death.
•Always pull the power supply line from the
electric socket with the connection plug, not
on the connection cable.
•Make sure the mains cable does not get caught
anywhere, which could lead to the unit falling
down.
•Do not use the packing material as a toy. Dan-
ger of suffocation.
•Never operate the unit without the crumb tray.
•Use the unit only when it is standing upright;
never put the unit into operation if is lying on
its side or upside down.
•If the toasted goods get jammed, pull the pow-
er plug, let the unit cool off and carefully re-
move the toasted goods. Make sure you do not
touch the heating elements.
•The unit emits a great amount of heat towards
the top.
•The bread may burn, therefore do not use the
toaster near or below combustible material,
such as curtains.
•Periodically empty the crumb tray.
•Before cleaning, pull the power cord from the
electric socket.
•Let the unit cool off before cleaning.
•Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning
agents and do not use any solvents.
•Do not scratch off stubborn soiling with hard
objects.
•Make sure that no liquid gets into the interior
of the unit.

Before the rst use
Whenusingforthersttime,operatetheunit1
- 2 times at the middle level without any toast as
it is possible that a slight odour will develop due
to possible dust remnants on the heating spirals.
Unpacking
To unpack the unit, proceed as below:
•Take the unit out of the carton.
•Remove all pieces of the packing.
•Remove any possibly extant labels on the unit
(do not remove the rating plate).
Requirements for the installation location
Forsafeandawlessoperationoftheunit,the
place of location must meet these prerequisites:
•Theunitmustbesetuponarm,at,level,
non-slip and heat resistant base that has suf-
cientloadbearingcapacity.
•Select the place of location so that children
cannot reach the hot surfaces of the unit.
•The unit is not intended for installation in a wall
or a built-in cupboard.
•Do not set up the unit in a hot, wet or moist
environment.
•The electric socket must be readily accessible so
that the power cord can be easily unplugged.
•The unit emits a great amount of heat towards
the top. Never place the unit on a cupboard,
under curtains or next to combustible materi-
als.
•Never place the unit near paper, fabric or simi-
lar materials. The bread can burn.
Making toast
Connect the unit to the mains supply:
•Put the toasting goods into the slot.
•Select the desired degree of browning (1 light
- 6 very dark)
•Press the lift button down until it latches.
Extra-lift
The extra-lift eases removing the toasted goods.
Lift the lift button and take out the toasted
goods.
Bread slice centring
It does not matter if you want to toast large or
small slices of bread, or thick or thin ones, the

bread slice centring device always positions your
toasted goods at the right place and ensures uni-
form browning on both sides.
Attachment for buns
The attachment for buns can also be used as a
warmer for your freshly toasted bread. Simply
place the toasted goods on the bun attachment.
Defrost feature
It is not necessary to adjust the control knob as
the defrost time is preset
•Put the frozen toasting goods into the slot.
•Press the *button.
•Press the lift button down until it latches.
Stop feature
•Press the stop button.
•The toasting process is interrupted.
Bun warm-up feature
To warm up buns, proceed as below:
•Place the bun attachment on the unit.
•Place the buns on the bun attachment.
•Set the browning degree control to between
steps 2 and 3.
•Press the lift button down until it latches.
•When the lift button returns to the top, turn
the buns over once and repeat the process.
Caution
The attachment for buns is hot during toasting;
do not touch it.
Cleaning
•Clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, moist
cloth. If heavily soiled, a mild detergent can be
used.
•Crumbs that have fallen down collect in the
crumb tray.
•Press the “Push” button.
•Remove the crumb tray and empty the crumbs.
•Replace the crumb tray.
Customer service department
If your Graef unit has a defect, please contact
your dealer or the Graef customer service de-
partment.

Disposal
At the end of its service life, this product must
not be disposed through normal domestic waste;
rather it must be disposed at a collection point
for recycling electronic domestic refuse. The
symbol on the product and in the operating in-
structions points this out. The materials can be
recycled in accordance with their markings. By
recycling, making use of the materials or other
forms of recycling old units you are making an
important contribution to protecting our envi-
ronment. Please ask your municipal administra-
tion about the responsible disposal sites.
Warranty
2 year warranty
Starting with the date of purchase, we assume
a 24 month manufacturer’s warranty for defects
that are attributable to manufacturing and ma-
terial defects. Your legal warranty rights in ac-
cordance with § 439 ff. German Civil Code-E re-
main unaffected by this clause. Not included in
the warranty are damages that have arisen due
to improper handling and use as well as defects
whichhaveonlyaslightinuenceonthefunc-
tioning or value of the unit. Furthermore, ship-
ping damages, unless our responsibility, are ex-
cluded from warranty rights. Warranty claims are
excluded for damages that arise due to repairs
we or our representatives have not performed.
In case of a justied complaint, we will repair
orreplacethedefectiveproductwithaawless
product as we choose.

Avant la première utilisation
Lors de la première mise en service, mettez l’ap-
pareil en marche 1 - 2 fois à vide au niveau le
plus élevé car une légère odeur peut se dévelop-
per en raison des éventuels restes de poussière
sur les résistances.
Déballage
Procédez comme suit pour déballer l’appareil :
•Sortez l’appareil du carton.
•Retirez toutes les parties de l’emballage.
•Retirez les éventuels autocollants sur l´appareil
(ne pas retirer la plaque signalétique).
Lieu d’installation
Pour une utilisation sûre et sans dérangements
de l’appareil, le lieu d’installation doit répondre
aux conditions suivantes :
•L’appareil doit être installé sur une surface so-
lide, plate, horizontale, antidérapante et résis-
tant à la chaleur et avec une force portante suf-

sante.
•Choisissez le lieu d’installation de manière à ce
que les enfants ne puissent accéder aux sur-
faces chaudes de l’appareil.
•L’appareil ne convient pas pour un montage
mural ou dans une armoire encastrée.
•N’installez pas l’appareil dans un environne-
ment chaud, mouillé ou humide.
•La prise doit être facilement accessible de ma-
nière à ce que le câble électrique puisse être
facilement retiré en cas d’urgence.
•L’appareil dégage une forte chaleur vers le haut.
Ne placez jamais l’appareil sous une armoire,
sous des rideaux ou à proximité de matériaux
inammables.
•N’installez jamais l’appareil à proximité de pa-
pier, de tissu ou d’autres matières semblables.
Le pain peut brûler.
Griller du pain
Raccordez l’appareil au courant :
•Placez le pain dans les fentes.
•Sélectionnez le degré de grillage souhaité (1
clair - 6 très foncé)
•Poussez la touche lift vers le bas, jusqu’à ce que
vous entendiez un clic.
Dispositif de soulèvement supplémentaire
Le dispositif de soulèvement supplémentaire
vous permet de sortir plus facilement le pain de
l’appareil.
Poussez la touche lift vers le haut et sortez le pain
de l’appareil.
Centrage des tranches de pain
Que vous souhaitiez griller de petites ou de
grandes tranches de pain, qu’elles soient nes
ou épaisses, le dispositif de centrage du pain
place toujours votre pain dans la bonne position
et assure un grillage uniforme des deux côtés.

Le support à petits pains sert également à main-
tenir votre pain fraîchement grillé au chaud.
Posez simplement le pain sur le support à petits
pains.
Fonction de décongélation
Cette fonction sert à décongeler du pain conge-
lé.

Pas besoin d’utiliser le bouton de réglage, car le
temps de décongélation est préréglé.
•Placez le pain congelé dans les fentes.
•Poussez sur la touche *.
Ensuite, poussez la touche lift vers le bas, jusqu’à
ce que vous entendiez un clic.
Fonction d’interruption
•Poussez sur la touche d’interruption.
•Le grillage est interrompu.
Fonction de réchauffage de petits pains
Pour réchauffer des petits pains, procédez
comme suit :
•Placez le support à petits pains sur l’ appareil.
•Posez les petits pains sur le support à petits
pains.
•Positionnez le réglage du degré de grillage entre
le niveau 2 et 3.
•Poussez la touche lift vers le bas, jusqu’à ce que
vous entendiez un clic.
•Lorsque la touche lift est remontée, retourner
les petits pains et répétez l’opération.
Le support à petits pains chauffe durant le grilla-
ge, ne le touchez pas.
Le nettoyage
•Nettoyez les surfaces extérieures de l’appareil
à l’aide d’un chiffon doux et humide. En cas
de forte salissure, vous pouvez utiliser un net-
toyant doux.
•Les miettes s’accumulent dans le tiroir à miettes.
•Poussez sur la touche «push».
•Sortez le tiroir à miettes et retirez les miettes.
•Replacez le tiroir à miettes.

Garantie 2 ans
Pendant 24 mois à partir de la date d’achat,
nous prenons en charge sous garantie fabricant
les défauts ayant pour origine des problèmes de

vil allemand (BGB-E) n’est pas affectée par cette
mesure. Les dommages causés par une manipu-

en charge par la garantie. De plus, nous décli-
nons toute responsabilité pour les dommages
causés par l‘absence ou le manque de détartrage
et d‘entretien. Dans ce cas, la garantie sera éga-
lement annulée. Les dommages liés au transport,
tant que nous n’en sommes pas responsables,
sont également exclus de la garantie. Les dom-
mages causés par une réparation non effectuée
par nous ou par un de nos représentants légaux
sont exclus de la garantie. En cas de réclamation
