Charging the Battery
To charge the battery: (Numbers refer to diagram on page 5)
Connect the AC adapter cable to the DC 5V socket (15) located at the back
of the Crystal and plug the adapter into a suitable po er socket.
The battery takes approx 1 ½ hours to charge.
Please note The battery compartment on the rear of the unit is
normally empty and can be used to fit a replacement should the
internal battery fail. It can also be used to fit an additional
battery if required.

Remove the battery cover and Insert
the new battery as shown.

Memory Stick Insertion
Align the memory stick ith the USB connector
on top of the Crystal and insert. If the memory
stick does not insert easily, rotate it 180 degrees
and try again. To avoid damage to the connector,
never insert the memory stick at an angle.
Playback ill begin if the memory stick is inserted
correctly.

SD Card Insertion
Position the card ith the cut-off corner at the
bottom left hand side.
Align the SD card ith the SD card slot ith the
Crystal speakers facing to ards you.
Gently push the card vertically do n ards into
the slot until it reaches the bottom do not use
force.
Playback ill begin if the card is inserted
correctly.
Operating the Crystal as a Speaker
The Crystal can be used as a speaker for portable devices such as mobile
phones and MP3 players.

Applying Power
The Crystal can operate standalone using the built-in, re-chargeable battery or on AC
po er using the AC adapter.
To operate the unit on AC po er; Plug the AC adaptor into a suitable po er socket and
insert the small po er connector into the DC5V socket (15) on the rear of the unit.
Do not operate the Crystal Media Player on mains power if the battery is
completely flat.
Allow 2 minutes of charging before operating the unit.
When operating on battery, ensure that the battery is charged before use (see page 2).
Slide the on/off s itch (16) to the right to turn on, the alphanumerical display (3) ill
illuminate.
Do not fast-cycle the po er, al ays allo 5 seconds bet een turning the Crystal off
and turning on again.
Operation (MP3 Playback)
Once po er is applied to the unit, insert a memory stick or SD card containing mp3 files
into the appropriate slot on the top of the unit.
The Crystal ill automatically play the mp3 files as soon as the SD card/USB drive is
inserted.
If a second device is inserted during playback, the Crystal ill play the ne ly inserted
device. If an SD Card and a USB Flash Drive are inserted you can select the device to
play back by pressing the FM/Flash select button (10).
Set the volume control (14) to a comfortable listening level. NOTE: During mp3
playback the volume can be increased further by pressing and holding the track for ard
button (5). Once set, the crystal retains the value.
Navigation
Play/Pause ►/ ‖ Press the play/pause button (8) momentarily to pause playback and
to resume playback.
Backwards |◄ Press the Track Back button (6) momentarily to play the previous
track.
Forwards ►| Press the Track For ards button (5) momentarily to play the next
track.
Memory Function
The Crystal ill remember the last track played hen turned off or if the media is
removed and re-inserted. The memory is reset to track 1 if ne media is inserted.
The USB and SD card slot have separate memories, i.e. inserting a ne SD card ill
not affect the USB track memory and vice versa.

Operating The FM Radio
First Operation/Tuning
1) Extend the telescopic aerial to its full length and apply po er. Allo
approx. 2 seconds for the unit to check for media.
2) Press the FM / Flash select button (10) to select the FM radio.
When selected the 'FM Radio Selected' (4) indicator ill illuminate.
3) To auto tune stations press and hold the play / pause button for approx. 5
seconds and release.
The display (3) ill sho SCH momentarily, and then sho the channel
search progress.
Once the channel search process has completed, the radio ill play one of
the tuned stations.
Operation
Once tuning is completed, the pre-set stations can be accessed by pressing
the Play / Pause button momentarily.
Play/Pause ►/ ‖ Press and hold for 5 seconds to set pre-set stations.
Press momentarily to select the next pre-set station.
Backwards |◄ Press the Track Back button (6) momentarily to decrease
the tuning frequency by 0.1MHz. Press and hold for 5 seconds to search
do n ards for the next tuneable FM station.
Forwards ►| Press the Track For ards button (5) momentarily to
increase the tuning frequency by 0.1MHz. Press and hold for 5 seconds to
search up ards for the next tuneable FM station.

Remote Control operation
On first use, enable the remote control battery by pulling out the strip of
cellophane at the bottom of the remote control.
Standby – Puts the Crystal into Standby mode.
Mute – Mutes the audio, pressing again re-enables the audio.
Forward/back – Have the same function as the Decrement track/Frequency
and Increment track/Frequency on the main control panel.
Play/Pause – Has the same functions as the Play/Pause button on the main
control panel.
Volume Increase/Decrease - Press the – button repeatedly to decrease the
volume until the desired level is achieved.
Press the + button repeatedly to increase the volume until the desired level
is achieved.
Equalisation - There are six pre-set equaliser settings to increase your
listening pleasure. Pressing the EQ button cycles through the pre-sets.
Track Select Buttons
You can move directly to the track of your choice by keying in the number of
the desired track.
Pressing (1) then (2) ill select track 12.

WARRANTY
Your Crystal (excluding the battery) is covered by 1 years' parts and
labour arranty against electrical and mechanical defects due to faulty
materials or orkmanship
This arranty does not apply to any parts that become unserviceable
through accident, misuse or neglect, repairs attempted by unauthorised
persons, use on po er supplies other than that specified in the user
manual and normal ear and tear.
Any repairs or parts replacement required under the terms of the
arranty due to faulty materials or orkmanship ill be made free of
charge during this period
The arranty does not cover any damage occurring to machines in
transit to the factory due to poor or unsuitable packaging.
Malfunction or damage caused by the use of unsuitable or poor quality
media is not covered by this arranty.
The Battery installed in the FM Media Player is covered by 6 months
arranty against total failure during the arranty period.
This arranty does not affect your statutory rights
