the Ultra-Sport 1000 iseasy to build and flies great,
we must discourage you fromselecting this kit as
yourfirstR/CairplaneIt is fast,highly
maneuverable,andlackstheself-recovery
characteristics of a good basic trainer such as the
Great Planes PTSeries airplanes On theother
hand, if you have already learned the basics of R/C
flying and you are able to safely handle an "aileron
trainer" airplane such as the Great Planes Trainer
Series or Big Stick Series airplanes,theUltra-
Sport 1000isan excellent choice
BecausetheUltra-Sport1000 hasa
wingspan over 80", itis considered "Giant Scale"
and can qualifyto flyinIMAA sanctionedevents.
However, if you plan to do so,you must be aware of
theIMAASafetyGuidelines,andtakethe
necessary precautions whilebuilding this airplane
to insure compliance withthoseguidelinesWe
have reprintedseveralimportantsectionsof the
guidelines inthe Appendix at the end of this book.
Read them now. Inaddition, itwould bea good
idea to talk inadvance with the designated safety
officers for the IMAA events you plan to attend, to
determine ifany modifications need to bemade to
