IOU ribs
The ribs are treated with hard wax oil wich gives surface protection and color. Standard or custom
colors can be chosen as well as color mixes. Special fire retardant treatment can be added.
The ribs are made of beech or maple veneer with a surface veneer of oak or other wood of choice.
The table tops are made of massive beech, oak or other wood of choice.

sorted as plastic.
Legs, strips and small parts are made
of steel and are sorted as metal.

Background
The IOU Series wooden ribs are treated with hardwax Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C,
a maintenance series that is environmentally sound. We recommend thet you use the Tubio
Monocoats (Rubio) products for oiling to cleaning and maintenance, as these products are
environmentally friendly and designed to be compatible at each stage.
Weekly cleaning
First cleaning can be done within six days after the original treatment.
1 Brush ribs from dirt and dust.
2 Immerse a cotton cloth or microfiber towel in a solution of Rubio Monocoat Soap.
(Mixing ratio: 150ml RMC Soap per 10 liters of water. Wring out to semi-wet cloth)
3 Wipe 2-4 square meters of ribs.
4 Rinse the cloth in the bucket with clean water and wring out thotoughly.
Cleaning with RMC Soap helps to preserve the surface protection and helps to keep the matte
surface.

Unscrew the four screws that belongs
to the damadged rib. Remove the damadged rib.
Add new rib. Screw new rib in place.
Replace ribs
If for any reason you need to change anyof you ribs, it is easy to do.
Tightening the screws
Depending onhumidity, screws and bolts may need to be tightened 3-6 months after dilivery,
otherwise the construction maybecome loose (applies to all wooden structures). Check the
screws and bolts once a year.
If armrests or tables have been kicked or used in a wrongful way the bolts and screws should be
tightened so that they never get a chance to start to loosen.

Touch up / Maintenance
Scratches can be touched up by local treatment with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C, with color
accorning to the original treatment, giving no joints, making the damage less visible and gives the
injured surface back it’s surface protection.
Maintenance cycle depends on rate of use/wear.
