interference can result in unstable or inaccurate readings.

Description
The Greenlee 93-105 True RMS Multimeter is intended to measure current, resistance,
voltage, capacitance, and frequency, and to check diodes and continuity. The AC-coupled true
RMS responding function guarantees greater measurement accuracy than meters that use
AC-averaging RMS Responding. The large, easy-to-read 3-3/4 digital display is supplemented
by a 42-segment bar graph and function icons for optimum clarity. Automatic and manual
ranging options, minimum/maximum input recording mode, and store/recall functions provide
maximum measuring capability.
Purpose
This instruction manual is intended to familiarize operators with the safe operation of the
Greenlee 93-105 True RMS Multimeter. This manual should be kept available to all operating
personnel.

FEATURES
Digital Display: 3-3/4 digit LCD display (maximum reading is 3999) and 42-segment analog
bar graph
Selector Switch: Measurement and range selector
1. AInput Terminal: For current measurements (400 mA. - 10 amps)
2. mA Input Terminal: For current measurements (400 mA. maximum)
3. COM Input Terminal: Negative, ground, or common terminal for all measurements
4. VΩInput Terminal: For any measurements except current
5. Function (unlabeled blue button): Select: AC or DC current, ohms or continuity, diode or
capacitance, frequency or adapter
6. MIN MAX: Monitors the input over a period of time; holds the minimum or maximum
value on the display
7. REL ∆(Relative Mode): Uses the present value as a reference to compare against a new
value
8. HOLD : Holds the present value on the display
9. PWR RST (Power Reset): Restores power after Auto Power Off
10. RANGE: Selects autoranging or manual ranging
11. STORE: Stores the present value in memory
12. RECALL: Restores the value in memory to the display

Using the Features
Basic Features
•Range: Press RANGE once to change to manual ranging; the AUTO icon will disappear.
In the manual ranging mode, press RANGE to select the appropriate range for the measure-
ment you want to make. Press and hold RANGE for two seconds to return to the autoranging
mode. The AUTO icon will appear.
•Store: Press STORE and the MEM icon will appear. The value on the display will be stored in
the memory. If the meter shuts off automatically, press PWR RST (Power Reset) to restore
power without clearing the memory.
The memory will be cleared when the meter is turned OFF.
•Recall: Use this function after using Store. Press RECALL to restore the value in memory.
The icon will appear and the MEM icon will appear and blink. The data stored in memory
will appear. The automatic POWER-OFF feature is disabled.
Press HOLD to exit the Recall mode.
•Hold: Press HOLD and the icon will appear. The beeper will emit a tone and the
display will be held constant until HOLD is pressed again.

Advanced Features
Relative Mode (REL ∆)
1. Measure a value according to the operating instructions.
2. Press REL ∆. The REL icon will appear. The present value will be used as a reference value
and the display will change to all zeros.
3. Measure a new value. The display will show the difference between the stored reference
value and the present value.
4. Press REL ∆for two seconds to exit Relative Mode.
When measuring resistance, use the relative mode to use the resistance of the leads as a
reference value. This is the same as “zeroing” an analog meter. Then use the meter
according to the instructions to find the actual resistance value of a resistor or circuit.
MIN MAX
1. Measure a value in autoranging mode according to the operating instructions.
2. Press MIN MAX once and the and MIN icons will appear; press MIN MAX again and
the MAX will appear (MIN will disappear). The meter will begin to record the input.
3. (Optional) Press HOLD to stop recording; the display will be held constant. Press
HOLD again to resume recording; the display will become active again and the
minimum or maximum value will be updated.
4. Press MIN MAX to exit the MIN MAX mode.
Note: The Auto Power Off feature will shut the meter off after approximately 30 minutes.
Using MIN MAX and Hold: While using the Hold feature, press MIN MAX to go directly into
MIN MAX recording mode.

Operation
Turn the unit on and allow at least 30 seconds for warm-up.
Self-Test
Before using the meter, test it on a functioning circuit or component. If the test instrument
fails to perform as expected, refer to the following list until the problem is solved:
1. Test leads are not fully plugged into terminal inputs.
2. The test lead tips or connectors are corroded.
3. The battery is discharged and should be replaced.
4. A test lead is damaged.
5. The test instrument needs service.
Voltage Measurement
1. Plug the black test lead into the COM terminal. Plug the red test lead into the V Ω
terminal.
2. Set the selector switch to V(for AC) or V(for DC).
3. Connect the test leads to the circuit or component and read the display.

Current Measurement
1. Shut off and lock out the power.
2. Open the branch of the circuit where the current is to be measured.
3. Plug the black test lead into the COM terminal.
4. Plug the red test lead into the Aterminal (for current measurements up to 10 A) or the mA
terminal (for current measurements up to 400 mA).
5. Set the selector switch to the appropriate setting. Press the function (blue) button to select
AC or DC current (the AC icon or the DC icon will appear).
6. Connect the test leads to the circuit.
7. Apply power to the circuit and read the display.
Notes:
• If the resolution of the reading is not satisfactory, shut off power to the circuit and
switch to the next lower range. Turn on the power to the circuit and read the display.
Repeat this procedure until the resolution is satisfactory.
• For readings of less than 400 mA, plug the red test lead into the mA terminal.
8. Shut off power and disconnect the meter from the circuit.
Do not attempt to measure more than 10 amps. Electric shock can
result.
Do not change the position of the selector switch when the test leads are
connected to a component or circuit. Damage to the meter can result.

Resistance Measurement
Do not connect the meter to a source of voltage or current when the
selector switch is in the position. Damage to the meter can
result.
1. Shut off and lock out power. Make sure all capacitors are fully discharged. Voltage must
not be present.
2. Plug the black test lead into the COM terminal. Plug the red test lead into the V Ω
terminal.
3. Set the selector switch to .
4. Press the function (blue) button to select resistance; the Ωwill appear.
5. Connect the test lead tips together. Press REL ∆to “zero” the meter.
6. Connect the test leads to the component or circuit and read the display.
