When using a triple gang, the front Greens Groomer unit may need to have its height adjuster set so that the
rear end of the brush is slightly raised. When in operation, the drag created by the outer units will then
naturally pull the front unit level.
The fold out wing arm assembly for use with the triple gang simply bolts onto the centre section such that,
when folded out into the operating position, the lugs which form the drawbar hitch for the rear units are on
the top sides of the wing arms.
Each unit is equipped with its own individual control box which should be removed and the leads plugged into
the single master control box, when used as a triple gang.
The 3-point linkage mounted version simply attaches to any standard Category 1 linkage by means of the clevis
pins provided.
USING THE SINGLE TOWED GREENS GROOMER
The Greens Groomer is pulled onto the edge of the green in the transport mode. At this time, the operator
lowers the brush by using the electric actuator to ‘raise’ the wheels. Raise the wheels until they are off the
ground. Pull the brush at appropriate speed to agitate the sand. Too slow or too fast results in sub-standard
brush action. Somewhere between 4mph and 6mph gives the best results. Make sure the Greens Groomer
is level when being pulled. When finished, raise the brush and move to the next green.
Normally, only 1 or 2 passes on dry sand are required to properly complete topdressing. One suggestion:
start in a circular pattern around the green. When the turns become too tight, cut the remaining sand in half,
forming two ‘D’ patterns. When the first pass is complete, repeat the procedure going the opposite direction.
Alternatively, simply travel across the green from side to side raising the groomer up as you reach the edge,
then proceed off the green to make your turn avoiding turf scuffing and reducing wheeled traffic on your green.
The unit is equipped with a telescopic drawbar which can be extended to allow use in tandem behind a truckster
mounted topdresser.
