2. General
If your system is a BME, it has only one pulley head:
• BME pulley head.
For the dismantling of the BME pulley head, go to
page 5 Dismantling of pulley head for BME.
For the assembly of the BME pulley head, go to

If your system is a BMET, it has two pulley heads:
• BME pulley head and
• BMT pulley head.
For the dismantling of the BME pulley head, go to

3. Dismantling of pulley head for BME
Note: To prevent water from mixing with the oil
when the motor-driven pump is removed, proceed
as follows:
• Pull the pulley head with pump out of the sleeve.
• Loosen the pump from the pulley head.
• Proceed as shown in the following illustrations.

Slacken and remove the six screws (M6 x 30) holding the
front cover.

Loosen the cover by means of dismantling bolts inserted in
the additional holes in the cover.

Remove the cover.
Note: Oil will run out when the cover is removed.

Slacken and remove the six screws (M5 x 16) holding the
rear cover.

Loosen the cover by means of dismantling bolts inserted in
the additional tapped holes in the cover.

Pull off the pulley.
Note: Push the rear cover backwards and fit the puller di-
rectly to the pulley.

Slacken the three screws (M6 x 14) in the spacing pipe.

Remove the spacing pipe.

Pull the ball bearing past the first fit.
Normally, the bearing can be removed by hand as the
bearing fits loosely on the stationary shaft.

Pull the ball bearing past the second fit.
Normally, the bearing can be removed by hand as the
bearing fits loosely on the stationary shaft.

Press the ball bearing out of the first fit.

stationary shaft.

Loosen the shaft by means of dismantling bolts inserted in
the additional tapped holes in the shaft.

Lift off the stationary shaft.
Take care not to damage the carbon of the shaft seal when
the stationary shaft is lifted free of the rotating shaft.

Remove the rotating shaft.
