Installing the Roof Handrail Kit
1. Assemble one handrail post (11) to each side of a roof rung (10) using 5/16" x 3/4" flange bolts (2)
and 5/16" flange nuts (8).
NOTE: Install the handrail posts (11) to every other roof rung (10) starting from the eave. Make sure
the handrails posts (11) are facing away from the bin (angle open outward).
2. Install one handrail mount bracket (12) to the top of each handrail post (11) using 5/16" x 3/4" flange
bolts (2) and 5/16" flange nuts (8) as shown.
NOTE: Install the flange bolts (2) with bolt head to the inside of the walking area.
3. Starting at the eave of the roof, install the roof rungs (10) to the existing holes in the roof panel ribs
using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (8).
NOTE: Make sure the rungs (10) are centered between the roof panel ribs and the flange bolts (1)
are installed with bolt head to the inside of the roof panel (50).
NOTE: If the rung (10) falls on a location where a roof ring is present, field drill holes in the roof ribs
just above the roof ring and install the rung (10) right above the roof ring.

4. Starting at the eave and working towards the peak, install the top handrails (13) to the handrail
mount brackets (12) using 1/4" x 1" self-drilling screws (3).
NOTE: Make sure the swaged end is up and connect the top handrails (13) together by inserting the
larger end of the next top handrail (13) over the swaged endof the previous top handrail(13).
NOTE: Make sure the handrail posts (11) are level and vertical before installing the top
handrails (13). Install the screws (3) from the outside of the handrail brackets (12).
5. Starting at the eave and working towards the peak, install the intermediate handrails (14) to the
handrail posts (11) using 1/4" x 1" self-drilling screws (3).
NOTE: Make sure the swaged end is up and connect the intermediate handrails (14) together by
inserting the larger end of the next intermediate handrail (14) over the swaged end of the
previous intermediate handrail (14).
6. Align one end of the cross brace (15) with the second hole from the top of the first handrail post (11)
and other end to the middle hole in the next immediate handrail post (11) and install using
5/16" x 3/4" flange bolts (2) and 5/16" flange nuts (8).
NOTE: Refer to PNEG-2042 to install the cross braces (15) at correct locations between the
handrail posts (11). Make sure to install the flange bolts (2) with bolt head to the inside of
the walking area.
7. At the peak, trim the top handrails (13) and intermediate rails (14) to remove any excess handrail.
8. Install the 1-1/2" tube plugs (48) to the ends of the top handrails (13).
9. Install the 1" tube plugs (49) to the ends of the intermediate rails (14).

Installing the Eave Platform
1. Install the left platform bracket (16) and right platform bracket (23) to the top sidewall sheet using bin
hardware.
2. Install the platform floor (21) along with the long angles (22) to the platform brackets (16 and 23)
using 5/16" x 3/4" truss head bolts (4) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
3. Install three platform short angles (17) and platform toe plate (18) to the platform floor (21) using
5/16" x 3/4" truss head bolts (4) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
NOTE: Make sure to install the platform toe plate (18) to the right side, above the platform floor (21).
4. Install the post support (28) along with the corner post (20) to the inner left corner of the platform
floor (21) and floor angles (17 and 22) using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
NOTE: Make sure to install the post support (28) between the floor angles (17 and 22) under the
platform floor (21).
5. Install three platform corner posts (19) and post braces (25 and 26) to the platform floor (21), floor
angles (17 and 22) and platform toe plate (18) at the remaining corners using 5/16" x 1" flange
bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
NOTE: Make sure to install the post brace (26) to the outer right corner and post brace (25) to the
inner right and outer left corners of the platform.
6. Install the safety cage bars (27) between the corner post (19) and long angle (22) at the outside of
the platform using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
NOTE: The end of the safety cage bar (27) installed to the corner post (19) must be inside and the
end installed to the long angle (22) must be outside to the floor kick plate as shown.
7. Install the handrail support post (24) to the middle of the long angle (22) at the inside of the platform
using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
8. Temporarily connect the wall braces (29) together. Install one end of the assembly to the right
platform bracket (23) and other end to a hill in the sidewall using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and
5/16" flange nuts (9).
NOTE: Make sure the wall brace (29) assembly is flat to the sidewall as possible.

9. Install the top handrails (30 and 31) between the corner posts (19) using 5/16" x 2" flange bolts (5)
and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
10. Slide the intermediate handrail (32) of larger diameter onto the intermediate handrail (33) of smaller
diameter. Install the intermediate handrails (32 and 33) between the corner posts (19) using
5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
NOTE: Adjust the length of the handrails (32 and 33) as required between the corner posts (19) and
secure the overlaps by installing self-drilling screws at the bottom after attaching the ends to
the handrail posts.
11. Assemble the platform gate bracket (39) with the gate assembly (40). Install the platform gate
bracket (39) to the corner post (20). Use 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9) for both
the connections.
NOTE: Make sure the gate swing is towards the inside of the platform.
12. Attach the platform sidewall angle (35) at 9-3/8" from the left platform bracket (16) to the sidewall
sheet using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
13. Attach the wall bracket (36) to the platform sidewall angle (35) using 3/8" x 1" flange bolts (6) and
3/8" flange nuts (7).
14. Attach the left ladder bracket (37) and right ladder bracket (38) to the wall bracket (36) using
5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
15. Install one ladder stand-off bracket (34) to the left platform bracket (16) and another one ladder
stand-off bracket (34) to the to the wall bracket (36) as shown. Align the holes in the ladder stand-off
brackets (34) and assemble. Use 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9) at all
connections.
16. Install the ladder assembly (43) to the ladder brackets (37 and 38) using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1)
and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
17. Install one flare attachment bracket (42) to the corner posts (19 and 20) using 5/16" x 1" flange
bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
18. Install the formed ladder flares (41) to the flare attachment brackets (42) using 5/16" x 1" flange
bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
19. Connect the formed ladder flares (41) to the ladder assembly (43) using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1)
and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
NOTE: Make sure the ladder flares (41) are vertical and parallel to the platform posts by adjusting
the splice/flare brackets. The ladder will NOT be square to the platform due to the radius of
the bin. The side closest to the bin wall will be closer to the platform.

Installing the Manway Guard
1. Assemble the roof panel attach angles (46) to the manway corner posts (45) using 5/16" x 1" flange
bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
2. Install the roof panel attach angles (46) (with post assembled) onto the roof panels (50) using
5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
NOTE: One attach angle (46) will be installed to the manway panel and another attach angle (46)
will be installed to the roof panel (50) at right near the manway panel.
TIP: Temporarily assemble the incline rails (44) between the platform posts and manway corner
posts (45) to determine the location of attach angles (46) on the roof panels (50).
3. Install one end of the incline rail (44) to the manway corner post (45) at left and other end to the
handrail support post (24) of the eave platform using 5/16" x 2" flange bolts (5) and 5/16" flange
nuts (9).
4. Install one end of the incline rail (44) to the manway corner post (45) at right and other end to the
corner post (19) of the eave platform using 5/16" x 2" flange bolts (5) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).

5. Slide the intermediate handrail (32) of larger diameter onto the intermediate handrail (33) of smaller
diameter. Install the end of handrail (32) to the corner post (19) of the eave platform and end of
handrail (33) to the manway corner post (45) using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (1) and 5/16" flange
nuts (9).
NOTE: Adjust the length of the handrails (32 and 33) as required between the posts (19 and 45)
and secure the overlap by installing self-drilling screw at the bottom after attaching the ends
to the handrail posts.
6. Install the short handrail (47) between the manway corner posts (45) using 5/16" x 2" flange
bolts (5) and 5/16" flange nuts (9).
