Warning: Theapplianceanditsaccessiblepartsbecomehotduringuse.Careshouldbe

away unless continuously supervised. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8
years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
useoftheapplianceinasafewayandunderstandthehazardsinvolved.Childrenshall
notplaywiththeappliance.Cleaningandusermaintenanceshallnotbemadebychildren
without supervision.
Warning: Unattended cooking on a hob with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in
fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water, but switch off the appliance and then cover
flame e.g. with a lid or a fire blanket.
Warning: Danger of fire: do not store items on the cooking surfaces.
Warning: If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibillity of elec-
tric shock. Metallic objects, such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on
the hob surface since they can get hot. After use, switch off the hob element by its control
and do not rely on the pan detector. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means
of an external timer or separate remote-control system. You should not use steam cleaning
devices to clean the appliance.

injuries.
••Whencookingoninductionhobonlyusepotsandpanswithaflatbasehavingno
sharp edges or burrs as these can permanently scratch the cooking surface.
••Inductionhobcookingsurfaceisresistanttothermalshock.Itisnotsensitivetocold
nor hot.
••Avoiddroppingobjectsonthecookingsurface.Insomecircumstances,pointimpacts
such as dropping a bottle of spices, may lead to cracks and chipping of the cooking
surface.
••Ifanydamageoccurs,seethingfoodcangetintothelivepartsoftheinductionhob
through damaged areas.
••Ifthecookingsurfaceiscracked,switchoffpowertoavoidtheriskofelectricshock.
••Donotusethecookingsurfaceasacuttingboardorworktable.
••Donotplacemetalobjectssuchasknives,forks,spoons,lidsandaluminiumfoilon
the cooking surface as they could become hot.
••Donot install the hob over a heaterwithouta fan, over a dishwasher,refrigerator,
freezer or washing machine.
••Ifthehobhasbeenbuiltinthekitchenworktop,metalobjectslocatedinacabinetbe-
low can be heated to high temperatures through the air flowing from the hob ventilation
system. As a result, it is recommended to use a partition (see Figure 2).

HOW TO SAVE ELECTRICITY
UNPACKING
DISPOSAL
Using the electricity in a responsible manner not only saves money, but also helps protect
the environment. So let’s save electricity! This is how it’s done:
The appliance was protected from damage at the time of transport. After unpacking, please
dispose of all elements of packaging in a way that will not cause damage to the environ-
ment. All materials used for packaging the appliance are environmentally friendly; they are
100%recyclableandaremarkedwiththeappropriatesymbol.
This marking means that the appliance must not be disposed of together with other house-
hold waste after it has been used. The user is obliged to hand it over to waste collection
centre collecting used electrical and electronic goods.

avoid environmental and health hazards resulting from the presence of dangerous compo-

•●Use the correct cookware
Cookwarewithflatandathickbasecansaveupto1/3ofelectricity.Pleaserememberto
cover cookware with the lid, otherwise electricity consumption increased four times!
•Always keep the cooking zones and cookware bases clean.
Dirt prevents proper heat transfer. Often burnt stains can be removed only with agents
harmful to the environment.
•●Avoiding unnecessary lifting the lid to peek into the pot.
•Do not install the hob in the immediate vicinity of refrigerator / freezer.
The electricity consumption is then unnecessarily increased.

INSTALLATION
Positioning
•the oven is equipped with an appropriate cooling system
•there is no warm
•air leakage from the oven towards the hob
•suitable air-inlets are provided as shown in the figure.
These instructions are to be used by the fitter as a guide to installation, setting and mainte-
nance in line with current regulations and standards. The appliance must be disconnected
from the mains before any work is carried out.
The fixture is especially designed for fitting into a work-top as shown in the corresponding
figure.Placethesuppliedsealingagentalongthehobperimeter.Donotinstallthehobover
an oven; in case you do, make sure of the following:

Warning!
All electrical work should be carried out by a suitably qualified and authorised electrician.
No alterations or wilful changes in the electricity supply should be carried out.
Thehobismanufacturedtoworkwithaone-phasealternatingcurrent(230V1N~50Hz)
andisequippedwitha3x4mm2connectionlead.
The electricity supply for the hob must have a safety switch which enables the power to
be cut off in case of emergency. The distance between the working contacts of the safety
switchmustbeatleast3mm.
Before connecting the hob to the power supply it is important to read the information on
thedataplateandtheconnectiondiagram.Caution!Theinstallerisobligedtoprovidethe
userwith“applianceelectricalconnectioncertificate”(enclosedwiththewarrantycard).

Before using the appliance for the first time
Induction cooking zone operation principle
Electric oscillator powers a coil placed inside the appliance. This coil produces a magnetic
field, which induces eddy currents in the cookware. These eddy currents induced by the
magnetic field cause the cookware to heat up.
This requires the use of pots and pans whose base is ferromagnetic, in other words sus-
ceptible to magnetic fields.
Overall, induction technology is characterized by two advantages:
Certainsoundscanbeheardduringnormaluseoftheinductionhob,whichdonotaffect
its correct operation.
The noises that can be heard during the normal appliance operation are the result of the
cooling fan operation, cooking method, cookware dimensions, cookware material and the
heat setting. These noises are normal and do not indicate a fault.
••thoroughlycleanyourinductionhobfirst.Theinductionhobshouldbetreatedwiththe
same care as a glass surface.
••switchontheventilationintheroomoropenawindow,astheappliancecouldemitan
unpleasant smell during first use.

••Low-frequencyhumming.Thisnoiseariseswhenthecookwareisemptyandstops
when water is poured or food is placed in the cookware.
••High-frequencywhizz.Thisnoisearisesincookwaremadeofmultiplelayersofdiffer-
ent materials at maximum heat setting. The noise intensifies when using two or more
cooking zones at maximum heat setting. The noise will stop or reduce when heat
setting is reduced.
••Creakingnoise.Thisnoisearisesincookwaremadeofmultiplelayersofdifferentma-
terials. The noise intensity depends on how the food is cooked.
••Buzzing.Buzzingcanbeheardwhenelectronicscoolingfanoperates.

Pan detector
Pandetectorisinstalledininductionhobs.Pandetectorstartsheatingautomaticallywhen
a pan is detected on a cooking zone and stops heating when it is removed. This helps save
electricity.
The induction hob is equipped with electronic touch control sensor fields, which are op-
erated by touching the marked area with a finger. Each time a sensor field is touched, an
acoustic signal can be heard.
•When a suitable pan is placed on a cooking zone, the display shows the heat setting.
••Inductionrequirestheuseofsuitablecookwarewithferromagneticbase(seeTable).
If a pan is not placed on a cooking zone or the pan is unsuitable, the symbol
isdisplayed.Thecookingzonewillnotoperate.Ifapanisnotdetectedwithin10
minutes, the cooking zone will be switched off. Switch off the cooking zone using the
touch control sensor field rather than by removing the pan.
When switching the appliance on or off or changing the heat setting, attention should
be paid that only one sensor field at a time is touched. When two or more sensor
fields are touched at the same time (except timer and child lock), the appliance ig-
nores the control signals and may trigger a fault indication if sensor fields are touched
for a long time. When you finish cooking switch off the cooking zone using touch
control sensor fields and do not rely solely on the pan detector.
Pan detector does not operate as the on/off sensor.
The protective device:
If the hob has been installed correctly and is used properly, any protective devices are rarely
required.
Fan: protects and cools controls and power components. It can operate at two different
speeds and is activated automatically. Fan runs until the electronic system has sufficiently
cooled down regardless of the appliance or the cooking zones being turned on or off.
Temperature sensor: Temperature of electronic circuits is continuously monitored by a
temperature sensor. If temperature is raised beyond a safe level, this protection system will
reduce cooking zone heat setting or shut down the cooking zones adjacent to the over-
heated electronic circuits.
Pan detection: allows the hob to detect pans placed on a cooking zone. Small objects
placed on the cooking zone (eg, spoon, knife, ring ...) will not be recognised as pans and
the hob will not operate.

The high-quality cookware is an essential condition for efficient induction
cooking.

••Alwaysusehighqualitycookware,withperfectlyflatbase.Thispreventstheformation
oflocalhotspots,wherefoodmightstick.Potsandpanswiththicksteelwallsprovide
superior heat distribution.
••Makesurethatcookwarebaseisdry:whenfillingapotorwhenusingapottakenout
of the refrigerator make sure its base is completely dry before placing it on the cooking
zone. This is to avoid soiling the surface of the hob.
••Lidpreventsheatfromescapingandthusreducesheatingtimeandlowersenergy
consumption.
••Todetermineifcookwareissuitable,makesurethatitsbaseattractsamagnet.
•●Cookware base has to be flat for optimal temperature control by the induction
module.
•●The concave base or deep embossed logo of the manufacturer interfere with
the temperature induction control module and can cause overheating of the pot
or pan.
•●Do not use damaged cookware such as cookware with deformed base due to
excessive heat.
•When you use large ferromagnetic base cookware,
whose diameter is less than the total diameter of the
cookware, only the ferromagnetic base heats up.
This results in a situation where it is not possible to
uniformly distribute the heat in the cookware. If the
ferromagnetic area is reduced due to inclusion of al-
uminium parts, then the effective heated area can be
reduced.Problemswiththe detectionof thecook-
ware could arise or cookware may not be detected at
all. To achieve optimum cooking results, the diameter
of the ferromagnetic base should match that of the
cooking zone. If cookware is not detected in a giv-
en cooking zone, it is advisable to try it in a smaller
cooking zone.

part) of the size corresponding to the size of the cooking zone.

duce the effectiveness of the cooking zone and increase cooking time.

might lead to pot being undetected by a cooking zone.

1 second before it is ready for operation
After a reset all displays and LEDs glow for approx. 1 second. When this time is over all
displays and LEDs extinguish and the control is in the stand-by mode.

Afterswitching-ONtheelectroniccontrolremainsactivatedfor20seconds.Ifnocooking
zone or timer selection follows within this period of time, the electronic control automatically
switches back into the stand-by-mode.
Thecontrolcanonlybeswitched-ONifitidenti•estheON/OFFkeyalonebeingoperated.
Should it recognize key activation other than that, the control remains in the standby- mode.

or select key has been operated within this period of time. If case of a cooking zone se-
lection,theautomaticswitch-OFFtimeiscomposedof10secondsdeselectiontimefora
cookingzoneatsetting“0“and10secondsswitch-OFFtime.
First place the pan in the chosen cooking zone. If the pan is not present the system cannot
be switched on the correspondent zone.

displayed.
PressthePLUS(3)orMINUS(2)buttontoselectasettingandthezonewillbegintoheat
up.
Once the cooking zone has been selected, the setting can be selected by keeping the
PLUS(3)buttonpresseddown.Thesettingbeginsatlevel1andincreasesby1levelevery
0.4seconds.Whensetting“9”isreached,thesettingwillnotbechangedfurther.
IfthesettinglevelhasbeenselectedusingtheMINUS(2)button,thestartlevelis“9“(maxi-
mumlevel).Keepthebuttonpresseddowntolowertheactivelevelby1every0.4seconds.
Whensetting“0”isreached,therewillbenofurthersettingchanged.Thesettingcanonly
bechangedbypressingtheMINUS(2)orPLUS(3)buttonagain
Selectthezonetobeswitchedoffusingthecorrespondingbutton(4).Thedisplay(5)ofthe
zoneselectedlightsup,whiletheremainingdisplaysaredimmed.PresstheCookingzone
(4)andMINUS(2)buttonsatthesametimeandthesettinglevelofthezoneischanged
to0.Alternatively,theMINUSbutton(2)canbeusedtoreducethesettinglevelto0.Ifa
cookingzoneis“hot”,“H”and“0”willbealternatelydisplayed.
Immediate switching-OFF of all cooking zones can be achieved anytime by means of the
ON/OFFkey.Inthestandby-modean“H“appearsonallcookingzoneswhichare“hot“.
All other cooking zone displays are not illuminated.
Theoutputofthecookingzonescanbesetin9stepswhichareindicatedbythefigures“1”
thru“9”bymeansofLedsevensegment-displays.Incasemorepowerisrequired,select
theboostlevel(“P”)

Boost function
Residual Heat Indicator
After selection of a respective cooking zone, the boost function can be activated by select-
ingthepowerlevel9andthenpressingPLUS(3)button.Bymeansofthisfunctioncertain
cooking zones are enabled to receive power over the nominal (the number of boostable
cooking zone depends on the power available on a partial modules which is to be lees than
total hob power ). If the desired cooking zone has the capacity to activate the booster, the
displayshowsa“P“symbol.Incasetheavailablepowerisnotenoughthecookingstage
display•ashesfor3secondsonthecookingzonewhichneedstobereducedandwhich
requires automatic adjustment.
The boosting time is limited to 5 min to protect cooking utensils. After the booster is
switchedoffautomatically,thecookingzonecontinuesoperationonpowerlevel“9”.The
booster can be reactivated after some minutes.
In case that the pan is removed from the cooking zone during boosting, the boosting func-
tion remains active and boosting time continues.
The power management is based on on the principle that the last entry is requested by the
induction as top priority. That means that previous actions and settings also made for the
other cooking zones are reversed automatically, if necessary.
-If induction identi•es the necessityof reducing power at a cookingzone, the selected
cookingstage•ashesonthatcookingzoneprovidingacorrectionperiodof3secbeforethe
power is reduced automatically to a minimum cooking stage.
- If the setting is adjusted within the correction period, the power management checks the
settings again. Should a new setting lead to further power reduction, the correction period
starts again.
-Ifnoautomaticcorrectionneedsbeingmadeto thecookingzonesetting,the •ashing
stops immediately and the original value remains as a steady display indication. Should the
situation change again on the power reduced cooking zone, no automatic power increase
is effected.
It is meant to indicate to the user that the glass ceramic has a dangerous touch tempera-
ture in the circumference of a cooking zone. The temperature will be determined following
amathematicalmodelandtheremainingresidualheatwillbeindicatedbymeansof“H”
onthecorresponding7-segmentdisplay.Heating-upandcoolingdownwillbecalculated
dependenton:•theselectedsetting(•“0”to“•9”)•theON/OFFtime.Afterswitching-OFFthe
cookingzonetherespectivedisplayshows“H”untiltheassignedcookingzonetempera-
ture is mathematically in a uncritical level. (≤60o•C).

Automatic Switch-off (Operating Time Limitation)
Protection against unintended switching-ON
Locking system
Dependent on the selected setting, every cooking zone will be switched of after a defined
maxinmum operation time if no operation of the assigned cooking zone follows within this
timeperiod.Everychangeofthecookingzonecondition(bymeansofthePLUS-,MINUS-
key) puts back the maximum operation time of this cooking zone to the initial value of the
operating time limitation.
•-Iftheelectroniccontrolrealizesacontinuousoperationofkeysforapprox.10seconds,it
switchesOFFautomatically.Thecontrolsendsoutanaudiblefailuresignalfor10seconds,
so that the user can remove the object which has been mistakenly placed onto the opera-
tionsurface.Thedisplaysshowthefailurecode“ER03“
-Ifthefailurecarriesonformorethan10seconds,onlythecode“ER03“willbedisplayed
as long as the failure will be recognized by the electronic control. If the cooking zone is in
the“hot”status,“H“willappearonthedisplayinalterationwiththefailurenotice.
-Ifnocookingzonewillbeactivatedwithin20secondsafterswitching-ONbymeansof

Child safety feature:
Activating the child lock: After switching-ON the control the child safety feature can be
activated. To achieve this it is necessary to simultaneously operate the front right cooking
zone- select-key and the
MINUS-key and then press the front right cooking-zone-select key again. There will be an
“L”,meaningLOCKED(childsafetyfeatureagainstunintendedswitching-ON).Ifacooking
zoneisinthe“hot”condition,“L”and“H”willbedisplayedinalternation.Thiscourseofop-
erationhastotakeplacewithinaperiodof10seconds,nootherkeythandescribedabove
may be operated. Otherwise the input will be interrupted because of incompleteness, the
cook top will not be locked then.
Key lock: After switching-ON the control the child safety feature can be activated. To

The electronic control remains in a locked condition until it gets unlocked, even if the con-
trol has been switched-OFF and -ON in the meantime. Also a reset of the control (after a
voltage drop) does not cancel the key lock.
Unlocking for cooking purposes:
To unlock and operate the control it is required to operate the front right cooking- zone
select-keyandtheMINUS-keysimultaneously.“L“(LOCKED)inthedisplayextinguishes
andallcookingzonesshow“0“withablinkingdot.Shouldacookingzonebe“hot”,“H”is
displayedinsteadofthestatic“0”.Afterswitching-OFFthecontrol,thechildsafetyfeature
is active again.
Cancelling the key lock:
Afterswitching-ONthecontrolthechildsafetyfeaturecanbedeactivated.Hereitisneces-
sary to simultaneously operate the front right cooking-zone-select key and the MINUS-key
and then operate the MINUS-key alone. If all steps have been carried out in the right order
within10secondsthekeylockgetscancelledandthecontrolisOFF.Otherwisetheinput
willbeconsideredincomplete,thecontrolremainslockedandswitches-OFFafter20sec-
onds.
the key-lock function in the off mode is not possible. When programmed timers expire the
respective timer alarms may be confirmed by actuating any key without needing to unlock
the control. The repeated actuation of the key-lock key in the wait or active mode unlocks
the keyboard and the assigned key-lock symbol fades. All sensor keys may be operated
as usual again.
