Warning: Theapplianceanditsaccessiblepartsbecomehotduringuse.Careshouldbe

away unless continuously supervised. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8
years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
useoftheapplianceinasafewayandunderstandthehazardsinvolved.Childrenshall
notplaywiththeappliance.Cleaningandusermaintenanceshallnotbemadebychildren
without supervision.
Warning: Unattended cooking on a hob with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in
fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water, but switch off the appliance and then cover
flame e.g. with a lid or a fire blanket.
Warning: Danger of fire: do not store items on the cooking surfaces.
Warning: If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibillity of elec-
tric shock. Metallic objects, such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on
the hob surface since they can get hot. After use, switch off the hob element by its control
and do not rely on the pan detector. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means
of an external timer or separate remote-control system. You should not use steam cleaning
devices to clean the appliance.

••Whencookingoninductionhobonlyusepotsandpanswithaflatbasehavingno
sharp edges or burrs as these can permanently scratch the cooking surface.
••Inductionhobcookingsurfaceisresistanttothermalshock.Itisnotsensitivetocold
nor hot.
••Avoiddroppingobjectsonthecookingsurface.Insomecircumstances,pointimpacts
such as dropping a bottle of spices, may lead to cracks and chipping of the cooking
surface.
••Ifanydamageoccurs,seethingfoodcangetintothelivepartsoftheinductionhob
through damaged areas.
••Ifthecookingsurfaceiscracked,switchoffpowertoavoidtheriskofelectricshock.
••Donotusethecookingsurfaceasacuttingboardorworktable.
••Donotplacemetalobjectssuchasknives,forks,spoons,lidsandaluminiumfoilon
the cooking surface as they could become hot.
••Donot install the hob over a heaterwithouta fan, over a dishwasher,refrigerator,
freezer or washing machine.
••Ifthehobhasbeenbuiltinthekitchenworktop,metalobjectslocatedinacabinetbe-
low can be heated to high temperatures through the air flowing from the hob ventilation
system. As a result, it is recommended to use a partition (see Figure 2).

HOW TO SAVE ELECTRICITY
UNPACKING
DISPOSAL
Using the electricity in a responsible manner not only saves money, but also helps protect
the environment. So let’s save electricity! This is how it’s done:
The appliance was protected from damage at the time of transport. After unpacking, please
dispose of all elements of packaging in a way that will not cause damage to the environ-
ment. All materials used for packaging the appliance are environmentally friendly; they are
100%recyclableandaremarkedwiththeappropriatesymbol.
This marking means that the appliance must not be disposed of together with other house-
hold waste after it has been used. The user is obliged to hand it over to waste collection
centre collecting used electrical and electronic goods.

avoid environmental and health hazards resulting from the presence of dangerous compo-

•●Use the correct cookware
Cookwarewithflatandathickbasecansaveupto1/3ofelectricity.Pleaserememberto
cover cookware with the lid, otherwise electricity consumption increased four times!
•Always keep the cooking zones and cookware bases clean.
Dirt prevents proper heat transfer. Often burnt stains can be removed only with agents
harmful to the environment.
•●Avoiding unnecessary lifting the lid to peek into the pot.
•Do not install the hob in the immediate vicinity of refrigerator / freezer.
The electricity consumption is then unnecessarily increased.

INSTALLATION
Positioning
•the oven is equipped with an appropriate cooling system
•there is no warm
•air leakage from the oven towards the hob
•suitable air-inlets are provided as shown in the figure.
These instructions are to be used by the fitter as a guide to installation, setting and mainte-
nance in line with current regulations and standards. The appliance must be disconnected
from the mains before any work is carried out.
The fixture is especially designed for fitting into a work-top as shown in the corresponding
figure.Placethesuppliedsealingagentalongthehobperimeter.Donotinstallthehobover
an oven; in case you do, make sure of the following:

Warning!
All electrical work should be carried out by a suitably qualified and authorised electrician.
No alterations or wilful changes in the electricity supply should be carried out.
Thehobismanufacturedtoworkwithaone-phasealternatingcurrent(230V1N~50Hz)
andisequippedwitha3x4mm2connectionlead.
The electricity supply for the hob must have a safety switch which enables the power to
be cut off in case of emergency. The distance between the working contacts of the safety
switchmustbeatleast3mm.
Before connecting the hob to the power supply it is important to read the information on
thedataplateandtheconnectiondiagram.Caution!Theinstallerisobligedtoprovidethe
userwith“applianceelectricalconnectioncertificate”(enclosedwiththewarrantycard).
Important! If the fixed power supply cable is damaged, it should be replaced at the manu-
facturer or at an authorized servicing outlet, or by a qualified person to avoid danger.

Before using the appliance for the first time
Induction cooking zone operation principle
Electric oscillator powers a coil placed inside the appliance. This coil produces a magnetic
field, which induces eddy currents in the cookware. These eddy currents induced by the
magnetic field cause the cookware to heat up.
This requires the use of pots and pans whose base is ferromagnetic, in other words sus-
ceptible to magnetic fields.
Overall, induction technology is characterized by two advantages:
Certainsoundscanbeheardduringnormaluseoftheinductionhob,whichdonotaffect
its correct operation.
The noises that can be heard during the normal appliance operation are the result of the
cooling fan operation, cooking method, cookware dimensions, cookware material and the
heat setting. These noises are normal and do not indicate a fault.
••thoroughlycleanyourinductionhobfirst.Theinductionhobshouldbetreatedwiththe
same care as a glass surface.
••switchontheventilationintheroomoropenawindow,astheappliancecouldemitan
unpleasant smell during first use.
••operatetheappliancewhileobservingallsafetyguidelines.
•the heat is only emitted by the cookware and its use is maximised,
•there is no thermal inertia, since the cooking starts immediately when the pot is placed
on the hob and ends once it is removed
••Low-frequencyhumming.Thisnoiseariseswhenthecookwareisemptyandstops
when water is poured or food is placed in the cookware.
••High-frequencywhizz.Thisnoisearisesincookwaremadeofmultiplelayersofdiffer-
ent materials at maximum heat setting. The noise intensifies when using two or more
cooking zones at maximum heat setting. The noise will stop or reduce when heat
setting is reduced.
••Creakingnoise.Thisnoisearisesincookwaremadeofmultiplelayersofdifferentma-
terials. The noise intensity depends on how the food is cooked.
••Buzzing.Buzzingcanbeheardwhenelectronicscoolingfanoperates.

Pan detector
Pandetectorisinstalledininductionhobs.Pandetectorstartsheatingautomaticallywhen
a pan is detected on a cooking zone and stops heating when it is removed. This helps save
electricity.
The induction hob is equipped with electronic touch control sensor fields, which are op-
erated by touching the marked area with a finger. Each time a sensor field is touched, an
acoustic signal can be heard.
•When a suitable pan is placed on a cooking zone, the display shows the heat setting.
••Inductionrequirestheuseofsuitablecookwarewithferromagneticbase(seeTable).
If a pan is not placed on a cooking zone or the pan is unsuitable, the symbol
isdisplayed.Thecookingzonewillnotoperate.Ifapanisnotdetectedwithin10
minutes, the cooking zone will be switched off. Switch off the cooking zone using the
touch control sensor field rather than by removing the pan.
When switching the appliance on or off or changing the heat setting, attention should
be paid that only one sensor field at a time is touched. When two or more sensor
fields are touched at the same time (except timer and child lock), the appliance ig-
nores the control signals and may trigger a fault indication if sensor fields are touched
for a long time. When you finish cooking switch off the cooking zone using touch
control sensor fields and do not rely solely on the pan detector.
Pan detector does not operate as the on/off sensor.
The protective device:
If the hob has been installed correctly and is used properly, any protective devices are rarely
required.
Fan: protects and cools controls and power components. It can operate at two different
speeds and is activated automatically. Fan runs until the electronic system has sufficiently
cooled down regardless of the appliance or the cooking zones being turned on or off.
Temperature sensor: Temperature of electronic circuits is continuously monitored by a
temperature sensor. If temperature is raised beyond a safe level, this protection system will
reduce cooking zone heat setting or shut down the cooking zones adjacent to the over-
heated electronic circuits.
Pan detection: allows the hob to detect pans placed on a cooking zone. Small objects
placed on the cooking zone (eg, spoon, knife, ring ...) will not be recognised as pans and
the hob will not operate.

The high-quality cookware is an essential condition for efficient induction
cooking.
Cookware characteristics
Select cookware for induction cooking
••Alwaysusehighqualitycookware,withperfectlyflatbase.Thispreventstheformation
oflocalhotspots,wherefoodmightstick.Potsandpanswiththicksteelwallsprovide
superior heat distribution.
••Makesurethatcookwarebaseisdry:whenfillingapotorwhenusingapottakenout
of the refrigerator make sure its base is completely dry before placing it on the cooking
zone. This is to avoid soiling the surface of the hob.
••Lidpreventsheatfromescapingandthusreducesheatingtimeandlowersenergy
consumption.
••Todetermineifcookwareissuitable,makesurethatitsbaseattractsamagnet.
•●Cookware base has to be flat for optimal temperature control by the induction
module.
•●The concave base or deep embossed logo of the manufacturer interfere with
the temperature induction control module and can cause overheating of the pot
or pan.
•●Do not use damaged cookware such as cookware with deformed base due to
excessive heat.
•When you use large ferromagnetic base cookware,
whose diameter is less than the total diameter of the
cookware, only the ferromagnetic base heats up.
This results in a situation where it is not possible to
uniformly distribute the heat in the cookware. If the
ferromagnetic area is reduced due to inclusion of al-
uminium parts, then the effective heated area can be
reduced.Problemswiththe detectionof thecook-
ware could arise or cookware may not be detected at
all. To achieve optimum cooking results, the diameter
of the ferromagnetic base should match that of the
cooking zone. If cookware is not detected in a giv-
en cooking zone, it is advisable to try it in a smaller
cooking zone.

•In order to achieve best cooking results, use cookware with bottoms (ferromagnetic
part) of the size corresponding to the size of the cooking zone.
••Usingcookwarewiththebottomdiametersmallerthanthecookingzonesizewillre-
duce the effectiveness of the cooking zone and increase cooking time.

romagnetic part of the pot bottom and the pot material. The use of an unsuitable pot
might lead to pot being undetected by a cooking zone.

After mains voltage is applied, the touch control initialises for approximately one second
before it is ready for use. All displays and LEDs flash for approximately one second after
resetting. Once this period is complete, all displays and LEDs switch off and the touch
control is in standby mode
PresstheON/OFF(1)buttontoswitchthetouchcontrolonfor1second.TheSlidingCon-
trolIndicator(4)flashesforallcookingzoneswhileawaitingtheselectionoftherequired
function.Ifanycookingzone“burns”(hightemperature),indicator(7)appearswithaflash-
ing“H”.
Afterswitchingthetouchcontrolon,itwillremainactivefor20seconds.Ifneitheracooking
zone nor the timer function is selected, the Touch control automatically returns to standby
mode. The touch control is only turned on by pressing the power button. If the power but-
ton is pressed at the same time as other buttons, no action is taken, and the touch control
remains in stand-by mode.
The touch control can be switched off at any time using the power button. This is even
the case when the control has been locked by the child safety feature. The power button
always takes priority in the switching off function.
Onceswitchedon,thetouchcontrolautomaticallyswitchesoffafter20secondsofinac-
tivity.
Placethepanontheappropriatecookingzone.Ifthepanisnotinplace,thesystemwillnot
activate the corresponding zone and the following symbol is shown in the corresponding
display, (7).
WhentheTouchControlisturnedon,anyofthecookingzonescanbeactivatedbypress-
ingonthecorrespondingslidecontrol,(3).Bypressingandslidingthefingeracrossthe
slidecontrol,(3),itispossibletoselectasettinglevelintherangeof0to9.Thesettinglevel
is shown in the corresponding display, (7).
Toswitchoffthecookingzone,justselectsettinglevel0bypressingthecorresponding
sliding control. If the residual heat of the cooking zone is high, the corresponding display,
(7),showsan“H”.

Cooking zones
Thecontrolautomaticallydetectsthepresence/absenceofapanineverycookingzone.
Ifapanisdetected,display(7)ofthecorrespondingzonewillconstantlyread“0”untilthe
required power level is selected. If no pan is detected, display (7) will remain off and not
displayanything.Ifapanisadded/withdrawn,thecontrolwilldetectitandwillturnon/off
the“0”ofthecorrespondingdisplay(7).
There are several possible combinations of cooking zone:
Individual zone (Fig. 7-A)
Thereare4squareindividualcookingzones(A,B,C,D)whichcanbeusedindependently,
by using the appropriate sliding control for each zone. Approximate diameters of the pan
bases:12-20cm
Double zone (Fig. 7-B)
Two individual zones may also be used together to form a single zone controlled by only
oneslidingcontrol.ThepossiblecookingzonecombinationsareA+BorC+D.Thisisdone
bysimultaneouslypressingtheslidingcontrol(3)ofthezonestobecombined.Nextthe
symbolonindicator(9)oftheselectedzoneswillappear.Onlytheslidingcontrol(3)andthe
display (7) located further on the left of the control panel will
remain active. This offers a rectangular cooking zone, particularly suited to rectangular or
oval-shapedpans.Approximatediametersofthepanbases:20-25cm

Optionally,the4cookingzoneslocatedfurtherontheleftmayfunctionasasinglezone
(A+B+C+D),controlledbyasingleslidingcontrol.Pressbutton(5)toobtainalargesquare
cooking zone suitable for large square or round pans. Approximate diameters of the pan
bases:30-40cm
TheBoosterfunctioncanbeselectedbypressingthe“P”atthefarrightoftheslidingcon-
trol,(3),fortherequiredcookingzone.Withthisfunction,allthecookingzonesareableto
receive a power supply above the nominal power (the number of zones with booster at the
same time will depend on the power provided to the different zones, which must always
be less than the maximum power of the hob). If the required zone is able to activate the
boosterfunction,thesymbol“P”isdisplayed.
Theboosteractivationtimeislimitedto10minutestoprotectcookingutensils.Afterthe
booster has automatically switched off, the cooking zone continues to operate at setting
level“9”.Theboostercanbereactivatedafterafewminutes.
If the pan is removed from the cooking zone during boosting, the booster function remains
active and the disabling time continues its countdown.
Powermanagementisbasedontheprinciplethatthelastmodificationtothesettinglevelin
the different zones has top priority. This means that the setting levels previously configured
in the other zones may be automatically decreased
- If the induction detects that any of the cooking zones requires a reduction, the display for
thiszoneflashesfor3secondstotimeforcorrectionpriortomodification.
- If the selected zone is re-adjusted within the correction period, power management anal-
yses the power distribution again. If a reduction in power is not required, the flashing stops
and the original setting level remains on the corresponding display.
- Should power distribution be changed again by the user, the setting level will under no cir-
cumstances automatically increase in the zones where it has been automatically reduced.
Booster Function

Temperature Functions
Residual heat indicator
There are three temperature functions available that allow a given temperature level to
be chosen for the required cooking zone. This temperature will remained fixed without
changingovertime.Toactivatethisfunction,simplypressthebutton(13)correspondingto
therequiredcookingzone.Theindicator(14)willdisplaythesymbolcorrespondingtothe
selected temperature level and display (7) will show the following symbol:
This informs the user that the glass is at a dangerous temperature should the area around
the cooking zone be touched. After switching off the cooking zone, the corresponding
display(7)willindicate“H”untilthetemperatureinthezonehasdroppedbelowthecritical
level.
Automatic disconnection (operating time limit)
A maximum operating time is defined for each activated cooking zone.
The maximum operating time depends on the selected cooking power.
When the maximum operating time has passed, the cooking zone automatically switches
off.
Each time that the cooking zone mode is activated (change in cooking power, etc.) the tim-
er returns to the initial setting. The timer settings take priority over the operating time limits
when adjusting the cooking power.

There are three temperature functions available:
Level1:42o•C
Recommendedfordefrostingormelting(chocolate,forexample).Pressbutton(13)once.
Level2:70•o•C
Recommendedforheatingfoodorkeepingithot.Pressbutton(13)twice.
Level3:94•o•C
Recommended for simmering.
Pressbutton(13)threetimes.
Tocancelthisfunction,repeatedlypressbutton(13)untilthesymbolontheindicator(14)
disappears,orselectamediumpowerlevelwiththeslidingcontrol(3).

Button lock (child safety feature)
-Ifthetouchcontrolisturnedonbutnocookingzonesareoperating(alltheindicators(4)
are flashing), the stand-alone timer can be activated by simultaneously pressing buttons
(15)and(16)untilindicator(17)turnson.If,however,anyofthezonesisatapowerlevel
otherthan“0”,thestand-alonetimercanbeactivatedbysimultaneouslypressingbuttons
(15)and(16)severaltimesuntilindicator(17)turnson.Thetimerdisplay(8)shows“0.00”.
Nowitispossibletoselecttherequiredtimebetween0and119minutes.Ifnovalueis
selected,thetimerisdeactivatedafter5seconds.
- To select the required time, simply press the More button (16) to increase the time or the
Lessbutton(15)toreduceit.
- After the programmed time, an intermittent sound signal is activated and the display (8)

Protection against unintentional activation
IftheTouchControldetectscontinuedpressureonabuttonformorethan10seconds:
-IfitistheON/OFFbutton,(1),allthedisplaysflashwiththesymbolshownbelowuntilthe
pressure is removed and any one of the buttons is pressed again. - If it is the sliding control,
the control produces a continuous acoustic signal and the symbol shown below flashes
onthecorrespondingdisplay(7).Ifthepressureismaintained,TouchControlswitchesoff
afterafurther20seconds.
Water or food spilt on the glass in the control zone may be detected as a continuous pres-
sure on one or more buttons.
Ifnocookingzoneisactivatedwithin20secondsafterswitchingonthetouchcontrol,itwill
return to standby mode.
-Whenthecontrolisswitchedon,theON/OFFbuttontakespriorityovertheotherbuttons,
to allow the control to be switched off at any time, in the event of multiple or continuous
pressure on the buttons.
-•Instandbymode,noeffectwillbecausedbybuttonsbeingkepthelddown.Inanycase,
to switch the electronic control back on, the control must have detected that no buttons
are pressed down.
