Tonosafe has been developed to avoid the necessity of
cleaning and disinfecting applanation tonometer prisms.
Tonosafe is intended for use as a disposable applanating
and optical doubling prism for use with Goldmann and
Perkins applanation tonometers.
The Tonosafe is precisely molded to provide acceptable
optical performance, and combined with the holder; the
prism has the same mass as the standard Goldmann
prisms. The doubling effect is within proposed
International Standards. Tonosafe’s high sensitivity and
specificity validates its use in both screening and routine
clinical use.
Instructions
To use Tonosafe, simply peel back the lid along the
perforation to expose the holder. Remove the holder from
the cavity.
Now peel back the lid covering one of the disposable
prisms and use the holder (B) to remove the prism (A) by
placing it over the exposed end of the prism as shown in
the diagram. There is an indexing key molded into the
prism which should align with one of the slots in the
holder.
With the prism removed and inserted in the holder, check
that the location key is pushed fully home in the slots in
the holder. When manipulating the prism, hold only the
flange, not the applanating part.

Tonosafe es un prisma óptico doble y de aplanación
desechable que se utilize en los tonómetros de aplanación
Goldmann y Perkins.
Tonosafe está diseñado con precisión para proporcionar
un funcionamiento óptico aceptable y, junto con el
soporte, el prisma tiene la misma masa que el prisma
estándar Goldmann. El efecto doble cumple las normativas
de la
Normalización Internacional. Tonosafe puede emplearse
para revisiones y para el uso clínico rutinario.
Instrucciones de Uso
Para utilizar T o n os a f e, simplemente despegue la
película protectora siguiendo la línea de puntos para sacar
el soporte. Extraiga el soporte de la cavidad.
A continuación, despegue la película protectora que cubre
uno de los prismas desechables y utilice el soporte (B) para
retirar el prisma (A) colocándolo sobre la parte visible del
prisma, tal y como muestra el dibujo. Hay una llave
indexada en el prisma que debe unirse a una de las ranuras
del soporte.
Una vez colocado el prisma en el soporte, verifique que la
llave encaja totalmente en las ranuras del soporte. Cuando
manipule el prisma sujételo por el borde, no por la parte
de aplanación.
Inserte el soporte con el prisma en el tonómetro de la
manera habitual. Tonosafe ya está listo para su uso.
Cuando se haya realizado la tonometría, extraiga el
soporte con el prisma del tonómetro, y saque el prisma
desechable del soporte presionando por el borde. Guarde
el soporte y deseche el prisma.

Insert the holder and prism assembly into the tonometer
in the conventional way and the Tonosafe is ready for use.
When the tonometry is complete, remove the holder and
prism assembly from the tonometer, and remove the
disposable prism from the holder by pushing off from the
flange. Retain the holder and discard the disposable prism.

Une fois votre tonométrie terminée, retirer l’ensemble
tonomètre et prisme du tonomètre puis jeter uniquement
Ie prisme en le faisant sortir par le rebord. Conserver le
poussoir.
Le Tonosafe a été créé pour éviter de nettoyer et de
désinfecter les prismes de tonomètre à aplanation après
chaque utilisation.
Le Tonosafe est destiné à être utilisé comme prisme de
doublement optique et d’aplanation sur les tonomètres à
aplanation de Goldmann et Perkins. Le Tonosafe a été
moulé avec précision pour garantir sa performance
optique, et avec son poussoir, le prisme a Ie même poids
que Ies prismes standards de Goldmann. II est donc dans les
Normes Internationales proposées. Le Tonosafe peut être
utilisé à la fois pour la vérification et le dépistage en
clinique.
Instructions d'utilisation:
Pour utiliser Ie Tonosafe, veuillez simplement ouvrir le
couvercle le long de la perforation et sortir Ie support de sa
cavité.
Veuillez faire de même avec Ie couvercle recouvrant l’un des
prismes à usage unique et utiliser Ie poussoir (B) et retirer le
prisme (A) en I’encastrant dans l’encoche du prisme. (Voir
Schéma).
Une fois que vous avez vérifié que Ie prisme de tonomètre
est parfaitement encliqueté sur son poussoir, veuillez Ie
tenir uniquement par Ie rebord et jamais par la partie
d’aplanation.
Veuillez ensuite insérer I'ensemble dans votre tonomètre de
la façon habituelle. Le Tonosafe est prêt.
