Filter Maintenance:
Cleaningthe air filter&air inlet/outlet grilles.
•Don't remove theairfilter except forcleaningor faults mayoccur.
•Make sure tousea stable platformwhilecleaning or servicingtheequipment. Do notflushthe equipment withwater
orelectric shock mayoccur.(clean filters onceeverytwo weeks).
Cleaning the air inlet/outlet grilles:
•Wipe grilles withasoft dry cloth.
•Water or neutraldrycleaner is recommendedifthe dust cannotberemoved.
Cleaning the air filter:
(A)Brush off dirtandvacuum.
(B)Wash with softclothand mild detergent.
(C)Shake water offandallow the filtertofully air drybeforereinstalling.

•This equipment canbecleaned only whenitis switched offanddisconnected from thepowersupply or electricshock
andinjury may occur.

Installation Requirements Checklist
Pleasecheck the followingbeforecontacting a repairservice:
Underthe following circumstances,immediatelystop the operation,disconnectthe manual supplyswitchand contact
theafter-service personnel.
•When control buttonsareinoperable
•When circuit breakerstriprepeatedly
•When the outdoorunitis blocked withiceor foreign objects.
•When the systemfailsto restart afterpowerreset.
•When system operatesabnormally.
FAULTCHECK
All these are not problems
Symptoms Reasons
Running water noise sound Running water sound can be heard during starting operation, during operation
or immediately after stopping operation. When it starts for 2-3 minutes, the
sound may become louder, which is the flowing sound of refrigerant or the
draining sound of condensate water.
Tapping sound During operation, the air conditioner may make a tapping sound, which is
caused from the temperature changes of the heat exchanger.
Bad smell in outlet air Clean filters and confirm the condensate drain pan and line are clean and
clear.
Operating indicator flashing When switching it on again after power failure, turning on the manual power
switch will show the operating indicator flashes.
Waiting Indicator Displayed when the control is set it to the cooing or heating mode and the
current mode of operation is opposite to the requested setting.
Idle indoor unit still has sound of refrigerant
flowing and radiating
temperatures.
Some refrigerant flow is allowed to pass through idle indoor units to prevent oil
and refrigerant from blocking the metering valve. This flow may result in some
radiating temperature and noise.
Clicking sound when unit comes on. The sound is made due to the expansion valve resetting when the unit is
powered on.
Start or stop working automatically Check if it is set to Timer-ON and Timer-OFF.
Please make another check.
Failure to work Check if there is a power failure.
Check if the supply fuse and breaker are disconnected.
Check if the unit is displaying any faults.
Check if wait symbol is displayed. This is due to other indoor units connected
to the same outdoor unit are running in the opposite mode.
System cannot heat and cool simultaneously.
Poor cooling & heating effects Be sure outdoor unit fan inlet and outlets are not blocked.
Check to be sure doors and windows are closed.
Check for dirty or blocked air filter.
Make sure the fan speed is not too low.
Check if the mode set to Fan mode.
Be sure the temperature control is set only correctly.

Indoor Units:
1.The distance betweenairoutlet and thegroundshould
notbe more than9ft(2.7m).
2.Select appropriate placesforinstallation where the
airflowcan be spreadevenlythroughout the space.
Arrangeproper locations forconnectingpipes and lines
aswell as thedrainpipeto the outdoor.
3.Ceiling construction mustbesturdy enough toholdthe
weightof the unit.
4.Make sure thattheconnecting pipe, thedrainpipeand
connectingwiring line canbeput into wallstoconnect
theoutdoor units.
5.It is recommendedtomake the connectingpipe
betweenthe outdoor andindoorunits and thedrainpipe
asshort as possible.
6.Please read theattachedinstallation instructions ofthe
outdoorunit for refrigerantchargingif necessary.
7.The connecting flangeshouldbe checked byusers.
8. Electrical appliancessuchastelevision,instruments,
devices,artwork,piano,wirelessequipmentandother
valuablesshouldnotbeplacedundertheindoorunitastoavoiddamagecausedbycondensateleakingfromtheindoorunit.
The following steps can be taken after selecting the installation location:
1.Cut a holeinthe wall andinsertconnection pipe andconnectingwires through afield
suppliedPVC pipe. Theholeshould be inclinedslightlydownward with aninclinationof
atleast 1/100 (seeFigure1).
2.Before cutting thehole,ensure no pipeorrebar is placedbehindthe cutting position
Avoidcutting a holenearwires or connectionpipes.
3.Hang the unitfromrafters, joists ortrussescapable of supportingtheweight of theunit
Noise,vibration or leakagemayresult from unstableunitmounting.
4.Support the unitfirmlyand shape theconnectionpipe, connecting wiresanddrain pipe toallowthem to easily
getthrough the opening.
WARNING
Protectthe indoor unitfromwinds or earthquake,installaccording to localornational building codes.Improper
installationcan cause personalinjuryand property damage.
CAUTION
•Choose a suitableinstallationlocation.
•Avoid places withhighsalinity (salt water)andhigh sulfur gas.Unitwill corrode anddamagewill not becovered
bywarranty.
•Avoid excess oil(includingmechanical oil) andsteam.This can reduceefficienciesand product performance.
•Avoid areas wheremachinesgenerate high frequencyelectromagneticwaves; this cancausecontrol issues.

Installation modes of Indoor unit
Thisseries of airconditionerscan be arrangedintwo air returnmodes:
1.Air return fromtheback (factory default).
2.Air return fromthebottom (can beadjustedon site). Seethefollowing figures.
Note: Thedownward air returnmodewill increase noise3-5dB(A).It is recommendedtoinstall the airconditionerin
downwardreturn air mode(figure2) if enoughspaceis available.

Bodyinstallation
1.Use 3/8” (M10)all-threadrod.
2.Ceiling removal: Pleaseconsultwith an engineeraboutchanges to thebuildingstructure.
a.Ceiling reinforcement: Ensuretheceiling is stableandwill not shake.Theceiling base framemustbe reinforced.
b.Cut off andremovethe ceiling baseframe.
c. Reinforcethe facesleftwhentheceilingisremovedand furtherreinforcethebaseframethatfixboth endsoftheceiling.
d.Install piping andwiringafter the indoorunitinstallation is complete.Beforeinstallation, choose asuitableinstallation
positionand determine theoutgoingdirection of pipes.Especiallyin case thataceiling exists, pleasepullrefrigerant
tubing,drain hoses, andwiringto their positionspriorto actually hangingtheindoor unit.

1.Installation of theductwork: With asquaresupply duct, theboreshouldn’t be lessthanthe sizes ofairoutlet duct.
2.Installation of theairreturn duct: Connectoneside of theairreturn duct totheair return oftheindoor units withrivets,
Theduct size shouldn’tbesmaller than theoutlet/inletsize of theindoorunit, as showninFig. 1.
3.Insulating Supply Ducts:Supplyand return airductsshould be insulated.
Selection of fan outlet
Thismachine uses aDCmotor. Multiple ESPadjustmentsare available. Thefactorydefault is standardESP.The ESP &
Silentmode can besetaccording to thestaticpressure and thenoiserequirement. Setting rangesareas follows:
Operation:
YR-E17wired controller: Withthedisplay on, pressFAN + SET keysfor 5s toenterstatic pressure setmode.The static
pressureicon will flashandcurrent static pressurewilldisplay. Press źŸ keytochange static pressuregrade,then press
theSet key toconfirm.
Note: Theseare medium ESPductedunits so allthesettings above mustbedone through awiredcontroller.

Installation of drain hose
Connectionof indoor drainhose.Place with airinletopening
1.Please use theaccessorydrain hose toconnectindoor unit’s drainoutletto a PVCdrainline. Use clampstotighten
themas shown inthefollowing figure:
2.Please use rigidPVCglue for connectiontoPVC pipes andensurethere is noleakage.
3.Drain hose mustbewrapped with insulationsleeveand tightened withastrap to preventairleakage from producing
condensate.
4.To prevent waterflowingback into airconditionerwhen the unitstopsrunning, drain hoseshoulddecline to the
drainageside with aninclinationof above 1/100.Drainhose expansion orwateraccumulation should beprevented,or
elseit will causeabnormalnoise.
5.When connecting thedrainhose, do notpullon it toavoidthe pipe connectionsfromgetting loose ordisconnected.
Drainhose should notbepulled out laterallyformore than 8in(200mm)and should besupportedevery 31-39in
(0.8-1.0m) to avoidbending.
6.The end ofdrainhose should bemorethan 2in (50mm)awayfrom the groundorthe bottom ofdrainagetank. It should
notbe put inwater.To directly draincondensateinto drainage ditch,thedrain hose mustbetrapped to avoidodors
fromentering through thehoseinto room.
Drainage Test:
Ensurethe drain hoseisclear and allconnectionsare tightly sealedbeforetesting.
Performthe drainage testasfollows:
1.Add about 0.132gal(500ml)of water intothedrain pan throughwaterinjection port.
2.Switch on thepowerand operate theunitin cooling mode.Checkthat the wateroutletdrains water normallyandthat
thereare no leakagesatthe connections. Afterthedrainage test iscomplete,replace the waterinjectionport plug. For
theposition of waterinjectionport; see thefigure:

Pipe Length and Height Difference
Pleaserefer to theattachedmanual of outdoorunits.
Tubing Material and Specifications
Specialtools designed forR410Ashould be usedforcutting and flaringpipes.
Refrigerant Recharge Amount
Addrefrigerant according totheinstallation instructions fortheoutdoor unit. Theadditionof R410A refrigerantmustbe
performedwith a digitalscaleto ensure properquantities.Compressor failure canbecaused by overorunder charging
thesystem.
Connection Procedures of Refrigerant
Connectall the refrigeranttubesvia flare connections.
•Dual wrenches mustbeused in theconnectionof indoor unittubing.
•For tightening torquereferto the righttable.
Cutting and Enlarging
•Cut the tubetothe needed length.
•Ream the cuttoremove shoulder. Dothiswith the tubefacingdown to helpfillingsfall out.
•Add supplied flarenutto tube.
•Use R410a flaretoolto create flares.
Wire Connections
1.Connect using circularcrimpterminals:
Themethod of usingcircularterminal is showninthe figure. Takeoffthe screw,
connectit to theterminalafter placing itthroughthe ring attheend of theleadand
tightenit down.
2.Connect using straightterminals:
Themethod of usingstraightterminals is shownasfollows: loosen thescrewbefore putting thewireinto
theterminal block, tightenthescrew and confirmithas been tightenedby
pullingthe line gently.
3.Clamp the wires:
Securethe wires withclipswhich should pressonthe insulation ofthewires.

•Unit must beproperlygrounded. Do notusewater or gaspiping,phone ground orlightningrod.
CAUTION
•Only copper wirecanbe used. Aproperlysized breaker shouldbeprovided, or electricshockmay occur.
•Unit requires 208/230VAC–L1, L2 wireanda ground. Noneutralis required.
•All indoor unitsshouldbe wired tothesame breaker topreventsome of theunitsfrom being poweredoffwhile
othersare energized.
•Controller wiring andrefrigeranttubing can bearrangedand ran together.

Outdoorunits are ofparallelconnection via threelineswith polarity. Themainunit, central controlandall indoor unitsare
ofparallel connection viatwolines without polarity.
Thereare three waysofconnecting the linecontroland indoor units:
A.One wired controltocontrol multiple units,i.e.2-9 indoor units,asshown in theabovefigure, (1-3 indoorunits).The
indoorunit 3 isthewire controlled mainunitand others arethewired controlled subunits.The remote controlandthe
mainunit (directly connectedtothe indoor unitofwired control) areconnectedvia three wireswithpolarity. Other
indoorunits and themainunit are connectedviathree lines withpolarity.SW01 on themainunit of wiredcontrolis set
to0 while SW01onother sub unitsofwired control aresetto 1, 2andso on inturn.(Please refer tothecode setting A
atpage 14)
B.One wired controlcontrolsone indoor unit,asshown in theabovefigure (indoor unit4-8).The indoor unitsandthe
wiredcontrol are connectedviathree lines withpolarity.
C.Two wired controlscontrolone indoor unit,asshown in thefigure(indoor unit 9).Eitherof the wiredcontrolscan be set
tobe the mainwiredcontrol while theotheris set tobethe auxiliary wiredcontrol.The main wiredcontroland indoor

TESTRUNANDFAULTCODE
Before Test Run
•Apply power tosystemto energize thecrankcaseor sump ofthecompressor. Power onsystemat least 12hoursbefore
operationto protect thecompressor.
Check the connections at the drainpipe and wire connection lines to make sure they are correct.
•The drain outletshouldbe placed lowerthanthe drain outletofthe unit. Insulatethecondensate drain linestoprevent
condensationforming on thepipe.The drain lineshouldslope away fromtheindoor unit.
Checkup of Installation
•Check if themainvoltage is matching
•Check for anyleaksat the pipingjoints
•Check main electricalconnectionsfor indoor andoutdoorunits
•Check if theserialnumbers of theterminalsare matched properly
•Check to makesurethe structure canproperlyaccommodate the indoorunits
•Check for excessivenoise
•Check insulation onrefrigerantand condensate drainlines
•Check condensate drainsforfree flow
•Check final positionofindoor units
Test Run
•The installation technicianshouldcomplete a runtestand evaluation. Comparethetesting procedures accordingtothe
manualand check ifthetemperature control worksproperly.
•The following procedurecanbe used toforcethe system intorunningmode if thesystemfails to start.Thefunction is
notavailable for thetypewith remote control.
•Set the YR-E17wiredcontroller to cooling/heatingmode,press "ON/OFF" buttonfor10 seconds toenterinto the
compulsivecooling/heating mode. Press"ON/OFF"button again toquitthe compulsive runningandstop the operation
ofthe system.
Fault Remedies
Whenany fault appears,referto “Inquiry offaultrecords of indoorunits”at the previouspageand consult thefaultcode
ofline control orthenumber of LEDflasheson the controlpanel.Refer to thebelowtable lookup faultdescriptions.
