Thank you for selecting and using Haier water heater.
Haier products are of high quality and excellent performance. To facilitate smooth operation, please read this
manual carefully and follow the operation steps contained herein. It should be stored well after use. In case of any
problems in use, please contact your local after sales service departments.
Due to improvements in this product, the Haier water heater you have purchased may not be completely in
accordance with the diagrammatic presentations in the manual. Here, we apologize for it.
Safety warning expert
This safety sign is the special sign for “the Safety warning expert” used by the
Haier Water Heater Company. Our patent technologies are used inside to ensure
your safety when bathing; and at the same time monitor whether the ground
electrode in your house is charged. If this safety sign is on, it indicates that the
ground electrode in your house has been charged (the ground electrode has a bad
earth and charged). Then, you should stop using it immediately and cut off the
power switch; don’t touch the outside casing of any appliances and contact the after
sales service department or the Property Company immediately. A professional
electrician will carry out system inspection until the sign goes out. “Safety warning
expert” will become the electrical safeguard.

Product characteristics

Dry-heating prevention unit: under abnormal conditions, when the heating components of the water heater are at an
overly high temperature, the hand-reset temperature controller will cut off the power supply automatically and stop
heating.
Low water pressure and low flow protection: in case of shutoff of water control valve or abrupt cutoff of water supply
which results in the water flow lower than the minimum operating water flow, the water heater will stop working
automatically.
“Shockproof wall” patent design makes for safer use.

Special notices
In order to guarantee the correct and safe application of the water heater, our company here notifies
customers that it is necessary to contact the professional service providers specified by Haier for home
service. In case of incorrect installation of the water heater, our company undertakes no responsibility.
zEnsure the water supply of the machine before powering it on; otherwise, it may cause faults in the machine
components. Ensure that air switch meets the national standard and is reliably grounded; it is forbidden to use
the water heater in case of unreliable grounding.
zWhen the electric water heater is seriously eroded by water, it can be cleaned up for reuse only if it is
inspected and accepted by our company’s technical personnel.
zDon’t place inflammable articles such as gasoline nearby the water heater; otherwise, accidents such as fire
hazards may take place.
Installation method
zIt must be installed by professional installation personnel of our company’s after sales service department or
specified installation personnel.
zThe water heater should be hung vertically on the wall and installed closely against the wall; it is forbidden
to be installed inversely or horizontally to ensure the sensitivity of the water flow switch.
Waterway installation:
zBefore installation of the water heater, first carry out waterway installation, the installation method as
follows:
zFirst, determine the installation position of the water heater.
According to the installation dimensional drawing, drill three holes
with aФ4mm and the depth of 30mm in the wall; plug the plastic
expanding tubes into the holes A, B, and C (see the back view in
P3); then, screw bolts into the plastic expanding tubes in the upper
and right holes (don’t screw them in completely to facilitate
machine hanging); and fix these bolts firmly. Then, lift the water
heater and hang the back shell of the machine on the bolts; screw
another bolt into the plastic expanding pipe C and screw it firm. At
last, assemble the front shell of the machine and fix them with
bolts.
zThere are the words “inlet” and “outlet” printed at the bottom of the water heater. First, install the filter
screen at the intake pipe; and then, connect the intake pipe with the outflow pipe and the shower nozzle; the
joints must be cushioned with seal rings to prevent water leakage; the installation refers to the drawing
above.
zNote: The hot water pipe should not be too long so as to avoid heat loss.
zWhen installing the water heater, there should be certain space set aside to facilitate future repair &
maintenance .
Circuit installation
zAfter the completion of waterway installation, test whether water can flow freely in the pipes; carry out
circuit installation if there is no water leakage.
Select proper air switch and power line according to the power of the water heater; the power line should be
connected with the water heater through the air switch. Be aware of the difference among the live wires
(brown/red/black), the zero line (blue) and the ground wire (yellowish green).

Matters needing attention for installation
zThe electric water heater should be installed indoors where the ambient temperature is above 0℃; pipelines
should be arranged together. It is not suitable for the hot water outlets far away from the water terminals. If
the distance is over 8m, heat preservation treatment should be carried out on the pipeline to reduce heat loss.
zThe electric water heater should be installed in places where it is easy for use and maintain and there are
buried pipes. In case of water leakage in the water tank or water pipes, no damage will be caused to the
nearby or lower story facilities. Besides, don’t install the water heater in places where water sprays directly
and it is easily frozen.
zDue to its high power, before installation of the water heater, carefully inspect whether the electric
instruments, the wire diameter of power supply and fuse meet with the requirements of the rated current and
voltage of the water heater.
zIntake and outflow pipes must not be connected inversely (hot on the left and cold on the right).
zTo ensure safety, air switch which measures up to the standard of the state should be used in the water heater,
and be grounded reliably. As the required current is very high, the power supply of the incoming line should
be connected directly to the air switch. Do not use the power plug.
zCheck whether the live wire and the zero line are connected inversely with an electroprobe. Power-on the
water heater for heating until it is confirmed that the water tanks are fully filled with water, there is no water
leakage in the various joints and the power supply meets the requirements.
zSafety warning: in order to prevent the occurrence of accidents, accessories such as hosepipes and shower
nozzles provided by our company must be installed and must not be replaced or substituted; if the pipe
fittings are damaged, inform our company’s repair & maintenance department to repair them and replace
them with accessories provided by our company. If accidents occur due to disobeying the matters and
attentions above, our company assumes no responsibility for the direct or indirect loss caused by the
accidents.

Usage·Matters needing attention for usage
Usage
zAfter the installation of the water heater for the first use, first carry out a water test; switch on power supply
until water flows continuously out of the shower nozzle or other water outlets.
zAfter switching on the power supply, regulate the water flow switch to get the appropriate water flow; then,
the machine will start up automatically; turn the power button to determine the gearshift required.
zAfter electrifying and heating for about 2s, hot water will flow out of the outlet (the practical outflow time
depends on the pipe length).
Temperature set
As to DSF80MB I (E), DSF65MB I (E) and DSF80MB II (E), after switching on the power supply and
turning on water flow switch to get the appropriate water flow, the screen will display the current water
temperature. For example, Fig. A shows the current water temperatures of DSF80MB I (E) and DSF65MB I
(E); Fig. B shows one of working interfaces of DSF80MB II (E). After switching on the power supply,
regulate the outflow temperature through the power regulating button and water flow regulating button.
Regulate the power according to the signs on the power button; in case of constant outflow, turn up the power
for heating, the outflow temperature rises correspondingly; on the contrary, the outflow temperature declines.
If stopping use of the water heater for long time, please shut off the air switch of the water heater. If required,
the customer can regulate the outflow temperature by regulating the water flow or power.

Matters needing attention for usage
1. According to temperature change in different seasons, regulate and set heating levels flexibly. When the water
heater stops being used for a long term or has been repaired, first, discharge water for a while to wash out
sundries in the pipes before it is reused, to avoid blocking the water heater. Power-on the water heater for use
until water flows out of the shower nozzle or other outlets continuously.
2. In case of water interruption while in use, please close the air switch immediately.
3. This product is an enclosed water heater which can supply hot water for several outlets connected with pipes,
such as a bathroom (bathtub, washtub, and shower nozzle) and a kitchen.
4. In order to extend the service life of the water heater, after use, please close the intake valve; in case there is
no usage of the water heater for long period of time, please close the air switch.

5. There must be an air switch installed in the circuit (depending on the power of the water heater). An earth
leakage protection switch must be installed in the customer's house, and the electric instruments should be
220V; for machines with the power of 6500W, ≥30A and copper core≥4 mm2; for machines with the
power of 8000W, ≥40A and copper core≥6 mm2; a water-proofing earth leakage protection switch with
the air switch ≥40A and copper core≥6 mm2; power supply copper core ≥6 mm2;
6. In case of ambient temperature lower than 0℃, ensure that water is not frozen in the water heater before
turning on the power supply of the water heater. If water is frozen in the water heater, the ice must be melted,
confirm that the water heater is not damaged with a water test before turning on the power supply for use.
7. The power line of the water heater shall be installed in a position where water can’t spray it; do not turn on a
power switch with wet hands. If the power line is damaged, it must be replaced by cables which meet with
the corresponding requirements of the national regulations.
8. When a fault of the water heater takes place, contact our company or the specified repair & maintenance
department in a timely manner to facilitate the immediate recovery.
9. If you live in a high-rise building and the water pressure exceeds the rated pressure of the product (such as:
larger than 0.6 MPa), it is recommended to contact our after sales service department to buy a pressure relief
valve so that the water heater can be reliably utilized.
Machine cleaning and maintenance
zExternal cleaning: cut off the power supply before cleaning the water heater. Use a small amount of a neutral
cleaning agent and a wet cloth and wipe the water heater gently (do not use gasoline or other solutions).
When cleaning is finished, towel off the water heater with a dry cloth until it is dry. Be aware to never use
cleaning agents with abrasives (such as toothpaste), acids, chemical solvents (such as alcohol) or metal
polishers to clean the water heater.
zShower nozzle and filter screen cleaning: if the shower nozzle doesn’t spray fluently or there is a blockage,
an old toothbrush can be used to clear away sundries on the external surface of the shower nozzle and inlet
filter screen. Then, assemble the shower nozzle and the inlet filter screen. Check that the shower nozzle is
placed in the right position so as not to influence the spraying effect.
