Hailo Klettermax 4353-101 User manual

These use and operating instructions describe how to safely use
the Hailo Klettermax step stool.
For your own safety, please read these instructions for use
carefully before using the step stool and keep them handy
for future reference.
If you should give this step stool to another person, please also
provide him or her with these use and operating instructions.
This step stool is a home accessory and a mobile aid for
working which can be used for both climbing and sitting.
Using the step stool as steps:
A 3-step stool is created when you extend the steps.
This design feature allows the step stool to be used for quick
jobs when you need more height.
Using the step stool as a stool:
A cushion – which folds over onto the top step – provides a
pleasant and comfortable seat.
The dual-purpose design of the step stool makes it versatile and
suitable for use in different locations.

Use and Operating Instructions
Item No. 4353-101
To ensure that the step stool continues to work properly,
lightly lubricate both guide rails [B-1] for the sliding part [B]
at regular intervals. (NB Care products are not included in the
scope of the delivery.)
The cleaning of the step stool, in
particular all of its moveable parts,
should be undertaken immediately
if it is visibly dirty.
Only use commercially available,
water-soluble detergent.
Do not use aggressive,
abrasive agents.
6. Cleaning / care
The packaging is to be disposed of in a manner that complies
with applicable local regulations and laws.
After the step stool is no longer suitable for
use it must be disposed of in accordance
with the applicable regulations.
Aluminium is a high-grade material
and should be recycled.
Detailed information on these matters may
be obtained from your local municipality.
When used for intended purposes and with regular
maintenance the step stool is a piece of work equipment and a
home accessory that is suitable for long term use.

where it is protected from the weather.

4. User instructions
A) Using the step stool as steps:
First ensure that the step stool is suitable for the purpose for
which it is to be used.
It must only be used in the position shown here.
Only use the steps provided for standing on.
Always consider the potential risks when using the step stool.
There is a risk of falling from the step stool or of the step
stool tipping over, which may result in personal injury and
damage to property.
A)
There is also a danger of injuries from
potential squeeze or shear points when
handling the step stool.
All work carried out with/on the step stool is to be undertaken
in a manner that minimises risks.
The step stool is only to be used for light work of short
duration. Do not spend long periods of time on the step stool
without taking regular breaks (fatigue endangers safe use).
The step stool or parts thereof may not be altered.
Make sure you have a secure grip while working as well as
during ascent and descent!
Do not move the step stool while it is in use.
1. Extend the sliding part [B] – you will hear it “click” into
position.
2. Fold over the cushion [D] as shown.
3. The step stool is now ready to be used as steps.
B) Using the step stool as a stool:
1. Fold over the cushion [D] to form the seat on the
top step [A].
2. The step stool is now ready to be used as a stool.
B) Children may not use the step stool.
Take precautions to make sure that children
do not play on the step stool.

Only one person may sit
on the stool at a time.
When the cushion is in position on
the top step, this step must not be used
for standing on.
Only one person may stand
on the step stool at a time.
Do not lean the step stool against a surface
for climbing as you would a lean-to ladder.
The feet of the step stool must all stand
firmly on the ground.
To use the step stool for climbing,
first extend the sliding part with the
two lower steps.
Do not lean out too far to the side.
Avoid excessive lateral loads.
Do not use the step stool on stairs.
Do not set up the step stool on
an uneven surface (rough terrain).
Avoid contaminating the surface
of the ground to prevent any risk
of slipping.
Do not exceed the maximum
permissible load of 150 kg.
Do not use the step stool as a bridge.
