Note: This kit is for the Aerofiner II & III air dryer which contains a
repairable check valve.

Air Dryer Check Valve Repair Kit

Step 1: Loosen the connections at the
inlet and outlet of the air dryer and bleed
the system. After relieving the air system
pressure, remove the hose line and/or
adapter from the 3/4” female NPTF outlet
port. Remove the retaining ring (item 4)
with snap ring pliers. Remove the spring
(item 3) and poppet O-Ring assembly
(item 2 and 1).
Step 2: Install the new O-Ring onto the
poppet and coat the entire O-ring/poppet
assembly with a light petroleum grease.
The sealing surface in the valve body
must be smooth and clean. Inspect
thoroughly before installing new check
valve components.

Step 3: Place the O-Ring/poppet
assembly into the check valve body, O-Ring
end first, as shown. Needle nose pliers may
be used to guide the poppet into place.
Step 4: Place the new spring in back of
the poppet (with small end of spring facing
poppet).
Step 5: Install retaining ring in retaining
ring groove behind the spring. Following
installation, verification of valve operation
may be desired. Remove the air dryer
cap assembly and push the nose of the
poppet several times. Free movement with
a positive return should be observed. After
functional testing, the spring must still be
retained fully by the retaining ring.
