Wichtiger Hinweis zum internen IEEE 1394- Anschluss
Bitte beachten Sie, dass der interne IEEE 1394 ( FireWire )
Port ( Port3 ) mit dem oberen externen Anschluss ( Port2 )
parallel geschaltet ist. Benutzen Sie daher niemals beide
gleichzeitig.
Sicherheitshinweise:
• Achten Sie darauf, dass statische Elektrizität sowohl
die Karte als auch Ihren Computer beschädigen kann.
• Entladen Sie sich durch Berühren eines metallischen
Gegenstandes.
• Bitte verwenden Sie das Produkt weder in der Nähe
von Heizungen, noch in extrem staubiger oder
feuchter Umgebung.
Hardware Installation:
Um die Karte zu installieren, müssen Sie Ihren Computer
öffnen. Achten Sie daher unbedingt darauf, dass Sie
Ihren Computer vom Stromnetz getrennt haben. Sollten
Sie mit dem internen Aufbau Ihres Computers nicht so
sehr vertraut sein, lesen Sie bitte im Handbuch Ihres
Computers nach oder fragen Sie einen Fachmann.
Hinweis: Achten Sie darauf, dass statische Elektrizität
sowohl die PCI Karte als auch Ihren Computer beschä-
digen kann. Entladen Sie sich durch Berühren eines
metallischen Gegenstandes. Suchen Sie einen freien
PCI- Einsteckplatz.
• Schalten Sie alle angeschlossenen Geräte und Ihren
Computer ab.
• Stecken Sie den PC aus, bevor Sie mit der Installation
beginnen.
• Öffnen Sie die Abdeckung Ihres Computers.
• Entfernen Sie das Slotblech für diesen Steckplatz.
Bewahren Sie die Schraube gut auf, Sie benötigen sie
später zum Befestigen der PCI Karte.
• Halten Sie die PCI Karte an den Ecken der Platine und
stecken Sie diese in den freien PCI- Einsteckplatz.
• Drücken Sie die Karte nun vorsichtig in den
Einsteckplatz bis der Haltewinkel aufliegt und die
vergoldeten Steckkontakte vollständig im Steckplatz
verschwunden sind.
• Befestigen Sie die Karte mit der zuvor entfernten
Slot-, Blechschraube.
• Schließen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers und
verbinden Sie ihn wieder mit der
Spannungsversorgung.
• Schalten Sie nun Ihren Rechner wieder ein.
Softwareinstallation:
Installation unter Windows Vista (alle Versionen):
Nachdem Windows Vista vollständig hochgefahren ist,
wird die PCI Karte automatisch installiert.
Ob der Controller ordnungsgemäß installiert wurde, kön-
nen Sie unter Start (Windows Logo) -> Systemsteuerung
-> System und Wartung -> Geräte Manager nachsehen
Dort muss folgender Eintrag ohne gelbes Ausrufezeichen
vorhanden sein:
IEEE 1394 Bus-Hostcontroller
• VIA OHCI-konformer IEEE 1394-Hostcontroller
Installation unter Windows XP:
Nachdem Windows XP vollständig hochgefahren ist, wird
die PCI Karte automatisch installiert. Danach erscheint
folgende Meldung „Neues Netzwerkgerät installiert“.
Falls Sie eine FireWire Netzwerkverbindung erstellen
wollen, klicken Sie auf das angezeigte Symbol und folgen
Sie den Anweisungen des Netzwerkassistent.
Ob der Controller ordnungsgemäß installiert wurde,
können Sie unter Start -> Systemsteuerung -> Leistung
und Wartung -> System -> Hardware -> Geräte Manager
nachsehen.
Dort müssen folgende Einträge ohne gelbe
Ausrufezeichen vorhanden sein:

Installation unter Windows XP x64bit Edition:
Nachdem Windows XP vollständig hochgefahren ist, wird
die PCI Karte automatisch installiert. Danach erscheint
folgende Meldung „Neues Netzwerkgerät installiert“.

Dort muss folgender Eintrag ohne gelbes Ausrufezeichen
vorhanden sein:

Important note about the internal IEEE 1394 connection
Please note that the internal IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port
(Port3) is connected in parallel to the upper external
port (Port2). Therefore, you should never use the two
simultaneously.
Safety notes:
• Be aware that static electricity can damage both
the card and your computer.
• Ground yourself by touching a metal object.
• During operation, keep the device away from heaters
and radiators as well as extremely dusty or
damp areas.
Hardware installation:
You must open your computer to install the card. Make
sure that you have unplugged your computer from the po-
wer outlet. If you are not familiar with the internal setup
of your computer, please consult your computer manual
or ask a qualified technician.
Note: Be aware that static electricity can damage
both the PCI card and your computer. Discharge
yourself by touching a metal object. Find a free PCI
slot.
• Switch off your computer and all connected devices.
• Unplug your PC before beginning installation.
• Open the cover of your computer.
• Remove the plate for this slot. Keep the screw –
you will need it to secure the card later.
• Hold the PCI card by the edge of the board and insert
it into the free PCI slot.
• Carefully press the card into the slot until the holding
bracket is lined up with the case and and the
gold-plated contacts have disappeared into the slot.
• Secure the card using the slot plate screw you
removed earlier.
• Close your computer’s case and plug it back into
the power outlet.
• Turn your computer back on.
Software installation:
Installation on Windows Vista (all editions):
The PCI card is installed automatically after Windows
Vista has started up completely.
You can verify whether the controller has been success-
fully installed by checking under Start (Windows Logo)
-> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device
Manager.
The following entry must appear without a yellow
exclamation mark:
IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers
• VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
Installation on Windows XP:

Remarque importante concernant la connexion interne
IEEE 1394
Veillez à ce que le port interne (port 3) IEEE 1394
(FireWire) soit branché en parallèle avec la connexion
externe supérieure (port 2). N‘utilisez en aucun cas les
deux en même temps.
Consignes de sécurité :
• Notez que de l‘électricité statique est susceptible
d‘endommager aussi bien la carte que votre
ordinateur.
• Déchargez-les en les touchant avec un objet
métallique.
• N‘utilisez pas le produit à proximité de radiateurs ni
dans des environnements excessivement poussiéreux
ou humides.
Installation du matériel :
Vous devez ouvrir votre boîtier d’ordinateur afin
d’installer la carte. Faites donc impérativement attention
à ce que votre ordinateur soit hors tension. Consultez
le manuel de votre ordinateur ou un spécialiste si vous
n’êtes pas bien familiarisé avec l‘architecture interne de
votre ordinateur.
Remarque : notez que de l’électricité statique est
susceptible d’endommager votre ordinateur ainsi que
la carte PCI. Déchargez-les en les touchant avec
un objet métallique. Trouvez un emplacement PCI libre.
• Mettez l‘ordinateur et tous les périphériques
connectés hors tension.
• Débranchez l’alimentation électrique de votre
ordinateur avant de commencer l‘installation.
• Ouvrez le boîtier de votre ordinateur.
• Retirez le couvercle de protection de cet
emplacement. Conservez soigneusement la vis dont
vous aurez besoin plus tard pour fixer la carte PCI.
• Tenez la carte PCI par les coins de la platine, puis
insérez-la dans l’emplacement PCI.
• Appuyez maintenant avec précaution sur la carte afin
de l‘introduire dans l‘emplacement jusqu‘à ce que les
encoches de fixation reposent dans la rainure et que
les connecteurs dorés aient complètement disparu
dans l‘emplacement.
• Fixez la carte à l’aide de la vis que vous venez de
retirer.
• Fermez le boîtier de votre ordinateur et rebranchez-le
à l‘alimentation électrique.
• Remettez alors votre ordinateur sous tension.
Installation du logiciel :
Installation sous Windows Vista (toutes les versions) :
La carte PCI est installée automatiquement après le
démarrage de Windows Vista.
Vous pouvez vérifier si le contrôleur a été correctement
installé en consultant Démarrer (Windows Logo) ->
Panneau de configuration -> Système et entretien ->
Gestionnaire de périphérique.
L’entrée suivante doit y être affichée sans point
d’exclamation jaune :

Installation sous Windows XP :
La carte PCI est installée automatiquement après le

réseau » dans le cas où vous voulez établir une connexi-
on réseau FireWire.
