6. Product Features
•Full duplex data transfers
The Hama switch is avery fast network distributor
for home use. The switch complies with the IEEE
802.3/802.3u/802.3x/802.3az 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
standardand enables data transfers in full duplex mode.
This makes the transfer rates almost twice as fast if the
connected devices arealso full duplex capable. This
allows you to make the most of your Ethernet network’s
performance. The maximum speed in full duplex mode
is 200 Mbps.

•Supports wirespeed and ow regulation
The Hama switch has an integrated non-blocking and
store-and-forwardarchitecturewhich enables it to
provide maximum speed for your network. The switch
ensures reliable data transfers thanks to the integrated
ow regulation for full duplex and half duplex mode.
•Supports auto-MDI/MDIX and auto-sensing
The Hama switch supports PNP (plug and play) and
features the auto-MDI/MDIX function. Youcan connect
the Hama switch to computers or other network-capable
terminal devices without complex congurations; it
doesn’t even matter which network cable you use. You
can either use aCat5e patch cable (1-to-1) or acrossover
network cable. The switch will automatically choose
the right setting for the type of cable used without you
having to congureit.
•Power-saving mode
The Hama switch features advanced energy-saving
technology.This technology helps reduce the device’s
power consumption if no data is being transferred or if a
connection is not being used.
7. Installation
Warning
•Only operate the product from an approved socket
that is connected to the public power supply.The
socket must be installed close to the product and
must be easily accessible.
•Disconnect the product from the power supply using
the On/Off switch –ifthis is not available, unplug
the power cordfromthe socket.
•Ifusing amulti-socket power strip, make sure
that the total power consumption of all connected
devices does not exceed the power strip's maximum
throughput rating.
•Ifyou will not be using the product for aprolonged
period, disconnect it from mains power.
Using the example of atypical conguration (Pic.1):
•Connect the switch to your DSL router/modem.
•Connect your computers/notebooks to the switch.
•Connect the power cable of the switch to aproperly
installed and easily accessible mains socket.
Note
•Ofcourse, you can also connect other network-
capable terminal devices such as printers, IP
cameras or external network harddrives.

6.Eigenschaften des Produkts
•Full Duplex Datenübertragung
Der Hama Switch ist ein sehr schneller Netzwerkverteiler
für zuhause. Der Switch erfüllt den IEEE
802.3/802.3u/802.3x/802.3az 10/100Mbps Ethernet
Standardund ermöglicht die Übertragung im Full
Duplex Modus. Dies kann die Übertragungsraten nahezu
verdoppeln, wenn die angeschlossenen Endgeräte
ebenfalls Full Duplex fähig sind. Somit können Sie das
Maximum der Performance aus Ihrem Ethernet Netzwerk
herausholen. Die maximale Geschwindigkeit des Full
Duplex Modus beträgt 200 Mbps.
•Unterstützt Wire-Speed und Flow Regulation
Der Hama Switch besitzt eine integrierte Non-Blocking
und Store-and-Forward-Architektur,die es ermöglich,
die maximale Geschwindigkeit Ihres Netzwerks
bereitzustellen. Der Switch stellt dank integrierter
Durchussregelung für Vollduplexund für Halb-
Duplex-Modus eine zuverlässige Datenübertragung zur
Verfügung.
•Unterstützt Auto-MDI/MDI-X und Auto Sensing
Der Hama Switch unterstützt PnP (Plug and Play)
und beherrscht die sog. Auto-MDI/MDI-XFunktion.
Sie können den Hama Switch mit Computern oder
andern netzwerkfähigen Endgeräten ohne aufwendige
Konguration verbinden, dabei spielt es keine Rolle,
welches Netzwerkkabel Sie verwenden! Sie können
entweder ein sog. Patchkabel Cat5e (1 zu 1) oder
gekreuztes Netzwerkkabel verwenden. Der Switch wird
automatisch für den jeweiligen Kabeltyp die richtige
Einstellung wählen, ohne dass dies von Ihnen konguriert
werden müsste.
•Stromsparmodus
Der Hama Switch ist mit einer fortschrittlichen
Energiespartechnologie ausgestattet. Diese Technologie
hilft den Stromverbrauch des Gerätes zu reduzieren, wenn
kein Datentransfer stattndet, bzw.ein Anschluss nicht
benutzt wird.
7.Installation
Warnung
•Betreiben Sie das Produkt nur an einer dafür
zugelassenen und mit dem öffentlichen Stromnetz
verbundenen Steckdose. Die Steckdose muss in
der Nähe des Produktes angebracht und leicht
zugänglich sein.
•Trennen Sie das Produkt mittels des Ein-/Ausschalters
vom Netz –wenn dieser nicht vorhanden ist, ziehen
Sie die Netzleitung aus der Steckdose.
•Achten Sie bei Mehrfachsteckdosen darauf,dass
die angeschlossenen Verbraucher die zulässige
Gesamtleistungsaufnahme nicht überschreiten.
•Trennen Sie das Produkt vom Netz, wenn Sie es
längereZeit nicht benutzen.
Am Beispiel einer typischen Konguration (Pic.1):
•Schließen Sie den Switch an Ihrem DSL Router/Modem
an.
•Schließen Sie IhreComputer/Notebooks an den Switch
an.
•Verbinden Sie das Netzkabel des Switch mit einer
ordnungsgemäß installierten und leicht zugänglichen
Netzsteckdose.
Hinweis
•Sie können natürlich auch andereNetzwerkfähige
Endgeräte wie z.b. Drucker,IP-Kameras, externe
Netzwerkfestplatten anschließen.

5. Exigences minimales du système
•Unordinateur (portable ou non) disposant d‘un port
réseau libre.
•Terminaux multimédia disposant d‘un port réseau libre.
•Unrouteur internet disposant d‘un port réseau libre
pour l‘accès àinternet.
•Tous les systèmes d‘exploitation courants (Windows,
Mac OS X, Linux, etc.) disposant d‘une prise en charge
réseau intégrée sont pris en charge par le commutateur.
6. Propriétés du produit
•Transfert de données full duplex
Le commutateur Hama est un répartiteur réseau très
rapide pour votredomicile. Le commutateur est conforme
àlanorme Ethernet IEEE 802.3/802.3u/802.3x/802.3az
10/100 Mbps et permet le transfert de données en
mode full duplex, ce qui permet également de doubler
la vitesse de transfert lorsque les appareils branchés
sont compatibles full duplex. Vous pourrez donc obtenir
la performance maximale de votreréseau Ethernet. La
vitesse maximale du mode full duplex est de 200 Mbps.
•Prise en charge de la vitesse laire(WireSpeed) et
de la régulation du ux (Flow Regulation)
Le commutateur de Hama est doté d‘une architecture
non bloquante (non blocking) et d‘une architecture
d‘enregistrement et transfert (storeand forward)
intégrées vous permettant d‘obtenir la vitesse maximale
de votreréseau. Grâce àlarégulation du ux intégrée,
le commutateur fournit un transfert de données able en
mode full duplex ainsi que half duplex.
•Prise en charge de «Auto-MDI/MDI-X»et«Auto
Sensing »
Le commutateur de Hama est un appareil plug and
play et prend en charge la fonction Auto MDI/MDI-X.
Vous pouvez connecter le commutateur de Hama àdes
ordinateurs ou autres terminaux compatibles réseau sans
grandes contraintes de conguration ;letype de câble
réseau utilisé ne joue aucun rôle lors de la conguration.
Vous pouvez utiliser soit un câble patch CAT5e (1:1), soit
un câble réseau croisé. Le commutateur sélectionnera
automatiquement le bon paramétrage pour le type de
câble concerné sans que vous deviez le congurer.
•Mode économie d'énergie
Le commutateur de Hama est doté d‘une technologie
écoénergétique innovante. Cette technologie permet
de diminuer la consommation électrique lorsqu‘aucun
transfert de données n‘alieu ou en cas de non-utilisation
d‘un port.
7. Installation
Avertissement
•Utilisez ce produit uniquement sur une prise
électrique reliée au réseau électrique public et
homologuée. La prise de courant doit êtresituée
àproximité de l’appareil et doit êtrefacilement
accessible.
•Coupez l’appareil du secteur àl’aide de l’interrupteur
-débranchez la prise de courant en cas d’absence
d’interrupteur.
•Encas de prises multiples, veillez àceque les
appareils consommateurs branchés ne dépassent pas
la puissance absorbée totale admissible.
•Débranchez l’appareilsivous ne l’utilisez pas sur une
période prolongée.
Exemple typique de conguration (g.1) :
•Branchez le commutateur àvotrerouteur/modem DSL.
•Branchez votreordinateur (de bureau ou portable) au
commutateur.
•Branchez le câble secteur du commutateur àune prise
de courant facile d’accès.
Remarque
•Vous pouvez bien sûr brancher d‘autres terminaux
compatibles réseau (imprimantes, appareils photo IP,
disques durs externes, etc.) au commutateur.
