1. Explanation of Warning Symbols and Notes

3. Safety Instructions
•The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
•Donot operate the product outside the power limits given in the specications.
•Donot use the product in moist environments and avoid splashes.
•Donot use the product in the immediate vicinity of heaters or other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
•Donot use the product in areas wherethe use of electronic devices is not permitted.
•Donot place the product near interference elds, metal frames, computers, TVs, etc. Electronic devices and
window frames can negatively affect the product’sfunctionality.
•Donot drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
•Donot open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
•Donot attempt to service or repair the product yourself.Leave any and all service work to qualied experts.
•Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
•Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.
•Donot modify the product in any way.Doing so voids the warranty.

Warning –Batteries
•Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries from the product.
•Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specied type.
•Donot mix old and new batteries or batteries of adifferent type or make.
•When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and -markings) and insert the batteries
accordingly.Failuretodosocould result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
•Donot charge batteries.
•Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
•Donot short circuit the batteries/rechargeable batteries and keep them away from uncoated metal
objects.
4. Getting Started
4.1. Measuring station
•Open the battery compartment (46) and insert two AAA batteries with the correct polarity.
•Press the CH-/TX button (43) repeatedly to select the channel the measuring station is to use for
transmission. CH1, CH2 or CH3 is shown on the display.
•Press the °C/°F button (45) to choose between °C and °F for the temperaturedisplay.
•Close the battery compartment.
Note
Beforeuse, ensureyou insert the batteries in the measuring station rst and then in the base station.
4.2. Base station
•Open the battery compartment (40) and insert two AA batteries with the correct polarity.Close the battery
compartment.
5. Installation
Note –Installation
•Werecommend initially placing the base and measuring stations in the intended locations without
installing them and making all the settings described in 6. Operation –todo.
•Only install the stations once the appropriate settings have been made and astable wireless connection
is established.

Note
•The wireless transmission range between the measuring and base stations is up to 30 minopen spaces.
•Beforeinstallation, ensurethat wireless transmission will not be disrupted by interference or obstacles
like buildings, trees, vehicles, high-voltage lines, etc.
•Beforethe nal installation, ensurethat thereissucient reception between the intended installation
locations.
•When installing the measuring station, ensurethat it is protected from direct sunlight and rain.
•The international standardheight for measuring air temperatureis1.25 m(4ft) above ground.
Warning
•Buy special or suitable installation material from aspecialised dealer for wall-mounting.
•Ensurethat no faulty or damaged parts areinstalled.
•Never apply force during installation. This could damage the product.
•Beforeinstallation, ensurethat the chosen wall is suitable for the weight to be mounted, and make sure
that thereare no electrical wires, water,gas or other lines at the installation site on the wall.
5.1. Base station
•Use the base to position the base station on alevel surface.
5.2. Measuring station
•You can also position the measuring station on alevel outdoor surface.
•Werecommend installing the measuring station securely on an outdoor wall using the opening (44).
•Install an anchor,screw,nail, etc. in the wall of your choice.
•Hang up the base/measuring station using the opening intended for this purpose.
6. Operation
Note –Input
Hold down the +button (36) or the –button (37) to select the values faster.
6.1. Initial settings
•After inserting the batteries, avalue indicating the height in metres (4) will ash.
•Set the following information in the order listed:
•height of the location, symbol for the current weather conditions, atmospheric pressureunit (hPa/ inhg)
•Toselect the individual values, press the +button (36) or the –button (37) and conrm each selection by
pressing the HISTORY button (38). .
•The standardsettings areretained if you do not make an entry within 20 seconds. Youcan subsequently
change/reset these values at any time as described in 6.4. Basic and manual settings.

6.2. Connection to the measuring station
•After making initial settings, the base station automatically searches for aconnection to the measuring
station and performs initial setup.
Note
•Initial setup takes approx. 3minutes.
•During connection, the wireless symbol on the measuring station will ash (29).
•Donot press any buttons during setup. Otherwise, values may not be transmitted correctly and thereisa
risk of value errors and inaccuracies.
•The setup process is completed when the indoor (6, 10) and outdoor (22, 28) measurement data is
displayed.
•Ifthe base station still does not receive asignal from the measuring station, press and hold the CHANNEL
button (39)for approx. 3seconds to start the manual search for the signal.
6.3. Selecting the channel/other measuring stations
Note
Youcan install two moremeasuring stations in addition to the included measuring station. Ensurethat the
base and measuring stations areset to the same channel.
Visit www.hama.com for suitable measuring stations.
•Press the CHANNEL button (39)repeatedly to set the channel to that set on the respective measuring
station –see 4.1. Measuring station .1, 2, 3 (30) or Channel overview (24) is displayed.
•The base station now shows the data measured (22, 28) on the selected measuring station (30).
•Select Channel overview (24) to show the measurement values of the individual measuring stations/
channels consecutively for 5seconds each.

6.4. Basic and manual settings
Automatic setting using the DCF signal
•After the rst time the base station is switched on and successful transmission is established between the
base station and the measuring station, the clock will automatically search for aDCF signal. During the
search, the wireless symbol (32) willash.

•Ifthe station still does not receive asignal, press and hold the +button (27) )and the –button (28) for
approx. 3seconds to start the manual search for the DCF signal. The wireless symbol (5) will start to ash.
Note –Time settings
•The search process takes about 7minutes. If the search fails, it ends and is repeated at the next clock
hour.The wireless symbol (32) will go out.
•Inthe meantime you can, however,set the time and the date manually.
•The clock automatically continues to search for the DCF signal on adaily basis (between 1:00 a.m. and
3:00 a.m.). If the signal is received successfully,the manually-set time and date areoverwritten.
Note –Summer time
•The clock automatically switches to summer time. S(31) appears on the display as long as summer time
is activated.
•Press and hold the +button (36) and the –button (37) again for approx. 3seconds to stop the manual
search.

(Manual) settings
•Press and hold the +button (36) and the –button (37) for approx. 3seconds to stop the search for the
DCF signal. The wireless symbol (32) goes out and you can set the time manually.
•Press and hold the MODE button (35) for approx. 3seconds to make the following settings one after the
other:
•Year (12)
•Month (14)
•Day (13)
•Time zone (12)
•Weekday (20)
•12/24 hour format (12)
•Hours (12)
•Minutes (12)
•Town/City (17)
•Toselect the individual values, press the +button (36) or the –button (37) and conrm each selection by
pressing the MODE button (35).
•Ifyou do not make an entry for 20 seconds, you automatically exit setup mode.
Note –Time zone
•The DCF signal can be received over long distances, but always transmits the current Central European
Time in Germany.Make sureyou account for the time difference in countries with another time zone.
•Ifyou areinMoscow,the time is 3hours later than in Germany.This means that you should set +3 for
the time zone. The clock then automatically sets the time to 3hours after the DCF signal received or
relative to the manually set time.
Note –Weekday
Youcan choose from German (GE), English (EN), Danish (DA), Dutch (DU), Italian (IT), Spanish (SP) or
French (FR) for the weekday display.
Note –Town/City
The sunrise (15) and sunset (18) entry depends on the location. Forthis, select one of the 150 towns/cities
from the list at the end of these operating instructions.
Celsius /Fahrenheit
•Press the –button (37) to switch between °C and °F for the temperaturedisplay.

Alarm
•Repeatedly press the MODE button (35) to access alarm mode 1or2.
•A1orA2isdisplayed accordingly in the seconds display.
•Press and hold the MODE button (35) for approx. 3seconds to set the signal time of the alarm displayed.
The hours display begins to ash.
•Press the +button (36) or the –button (37) to select the hour for the alarm time and conrm your selection
by pressing the MODE button (35). The minutes display begins to ash.
•Repeat the process to set the minutes for the alarm time.
•Press the MODE button (35) repeatedly to also set the other alarm mode or return to the time display (12).
•Ifyou do not make an entry for 20 seconds, you automatically exit setup mode.
Note –Alarm
•When activated, alarm mode 1only triggers an alarm signal on weekdays (Monday to Friday).
•When activated, alarm mode 2only triggers an alarm signal on Saturday and Sunday.
•Inalarm mode 1or2,press the –button (37) to activate/deactivate the corresponding alarm and conrm
your entry by pressing the MODE button (35).
The alarm symbol (27) will appear/not appear.
•Ifthe alarm is triggered, the alarm symbol (27) will begin to ash and an alarm signal willsound.
•Press any button (except the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (34) to stop the alarm. Otherwise, it will stop
automatically after 2minutes.
•Ifyou press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (34) during the alarm, the alarm is interrupted for 5minutes and
then goes off again. The alarm symbol (27) will ash.
Height/weather forecast/atmospheric pressure unit
•Press and hold the HISTORY button (39) for approx. 3seconds to make the following settings one after
the other:
height of the location, symbol for the current weather conditions, atmospheric pressureunit (hPa/ inhg)
•Toselect the individual values, press the +button (36) or the –button (37) and conrm each selection by
pressing the HISTORY button (38).
Note
•The height at the current location and the current weather form the basis for calculating the atmospheric
pressureand the weather forecast.
•Ifyou should not know the values for these variables, you can nd further information in the Internet,
from the local meteorological oce, on the radio, etc.
•Werecommend that you adapt these values to your location to increase the accuracy of the weather
forecast.
•Aheight of 590 mand slightly cloudy weather areused as standard.

6.5. Weather forecast/ atmospheric pressure history
•Based on changes in the atmospheric pressureand the data saved, the base station is able to make weather
forecasts for the next 12 to 24 hours.
Note –Weather forecast
The weather forecast function is not available during the rst few hours of operation because it requires
data that is collected during operation.
•The weather forecast and the current weather areindicated by ve different symbols (2):

•The weather station indicates atrend as to how the values for the outdoor temperature/humidity (25/21),
room temperature/humidity (8/11) and atmospheric pressure(1) arelikely to develop over the next few
hours.

•Repeatedly press the HISTORY button (38) to access the atmospheric pressurevalues (4) for the last twelve
hours in 1hour intervals (5).
•Ifyou do not make an entry for the 20 seconds, the current atmospheric pressure(4) is displayed again
automatically.
•The bar graph (33) shows the history of the atmospheric pressurewithin the last 12 hours.
•The risk of frost symbol (3) is displayed as soon as the outdoor temperaturedrops below +4°C.
6.6. Maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values
•The base station automatically stores the maximum and minimum indoor/outdoor temperatureand humidity
values.
•Repeatedly press the +button (36) to switch between the current temperatureand humidity,minimum
temperatureand humidity (MIN) and maximum temperatureand humidity (MAX).
6.7. Outdoor temperature alarm
•Repeatedly press the CHANNEL button (39) to select the measuring station channel (30) for which you
would like to set an alarm.
•Press and hold the –button (37) for approx. 3seconds until the outside temperaturedisplay (28) ON/ OFF
begins to ash.
•Press the +button (36) or the –button (37) to select ON/ OFF´and conrm your selection by pressing the
MODE´ button (35).
Select ON/ OFF to activate/deactivate the outside temperaturealarm.
The corresponding symbol (26) is displayed when the alarm is activated.
•The symbol for the upper limit value is displayed and the limit value (28) ashes.
•Press the +button (36) or the –button (37) to set the displayed limit value and conrm your selection by
pressing the MODE button (35).
•Then repeat this procedurefor the lower limit value .
•The alarm is triggered correspondingly if the outdoor temperaturereaches one of these limit values.
The symbol (26) and the outdoor temperaturestart to ash and an alarm signal sounds.
Press any button to stop the alarm.
Note –Outdoor temperaturealarm
•You can dene alower and an upper limit value and activate an alarm for each channel and/or
connected measuring station.
•Note that the lower limit value must be at least 1°C/1°F below the upper limit value.

6.8. Moon phases
The base station indicates the current moon phase (16) with the following symbols:

6.9. Sunrise/sunset
The base station displays the time for sunrise (15) and sunset (18) for the current day.Make the settings for
the town/city required as described under 6.4 Basic and manual settings.
6.10. Comfort range
The base station displays the following comfort ranges based on the ration between the current room
temperatureand room humidity:

6.11. Backlight
Note –Backlight
If you press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button (34), the display will light up for approx. 5seconds.
6.12. Low battery capacity
As soon as the (9/23) battery symbol appears on the display of the base station, the capacity of the batteries
in the base/measuring station is very low.Replace the batteries immediately.
Note –Replacing the batteries
•Note that the stations have to be resynchronised each time after you change the batteries in the
measuring or base station.
•Todothis, remove the batteries from the other station and then reinsert them, or change them as required.
7. Care and Maintenance
Only clean this product with aslightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
