2.8 DESCRIPTION OF THE EQUIPMENT
The HAMMER CRUSHER of the FP series, mounted on the excavator arm, makes it possible to crush
construction materials and shear any reinforcing rods present in the structures to be demolished. The
HAMMER FP CRUSHER, designed for secondary demolition activities, is characterized by one only
movement, i.e. opening/closing of the jaw.
The CRUSHER must be connected to the excavator’s hydraulic circuit, which will control its movements.
2.9 INTENDED USE AND LIMITS OF USE
The HAMMER FP CRUSHER is intended exclusively for the crushing of construction material, including
the cutting of metal reinforcements located inside the concrete. Any other use is to be considered
NOT COMPLIANT with the Manufacturer’s instructions.
2.10 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF HAMMER CRUSHERS
The technical specications of the HAMMER CRUSHERS of the FX Series are shown in the following table:

In order to ensure the correct maneuvering space and to avoid possible collisions with people, it is advisable to
provide a minimum distance of 15 [m] between equipment and people circulating in the area of operation.
Space requirements for the operation of the equipment are closely linked to the types of works to be carried out
on site, which cannot be generalized and need to be evaluated each time.
On the other hand, space requirements for the maintenance of the equipment are closely linked to the
operations that specialized maintenance personnel must perform.

3. SAFETY
3.1 STANDARDS AND CERTIFICATIONS
In the design of the CRUSHER, the MANUFACTURER has taken on the task of achieving important
objectives, rst of all the pursuit of the maximum level of equipment, obtained through specic design
solutions, consistently with the provisions of the Machinery Directive.
The equipment has been built according to the standards indicated in the Declaration of Conformity.
3.2 SAFETY MEASURES
• This manual is an integral part of the equipment. The manual must remain within reach of the personnel
in charge of the use and maintenance of the equipment, and must be read in full by all those who, even
occasionally, operate on it.
• Follow the safety instructions prescribed by the government regulations in force concerning work safety.
• The operator must intervene exclusively on the controls of the equipment and as indicated in this manual.
• The MANUFACTURER does not have a direct control over the applications, operations, inspection,
lubrication or maintenance of the CRUSHER, therefore IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE USER to put
in place adequate safety measures when carrying out these activities.
3.2.1 REQUISITES OF THE OPERATOR
Operators can use the CRUSHER only if in possession of in-depth knowledge of this manual, of the
operating limits of the equipment and of maintenance operations.
Moreover, operators are required to use common sense to ensure everyone’s safety and to carry out their
work correctly and responsibly. Furthermore, operators MUST NOT use substances that can change or alter
their state of alert and coordination.
3.2.2 WORK CLOTHING
During the operation, maintenance or repair of the equipment, always use appropriate clothing and devices
for accident prevention. In particular:
• Work gloves
• Overalls
• Ear protectors
• Safety shoes
• Dust mask
• Protective helmet
in accordance with the specic directives on the subject.

Ed. 01/18 Rev. 00 19
FIXED CRUSHER FP SERIES
S
3.2.3 BEHAVIOR TO BE ADOPTED IN THE EVENT OF ACCIDENTS
Operators have to keep always ready for use, in case of need:
• First aid kit;
• Emergency telephone numbers.
In the event of accidents, call for help and follow the specic emergency procedures, according to the
indications and the methods envisaged by the rules on Safety at Work.
3.3 SAFETY AT WORK
• Always keep this manual handy. Read it thoroughly and learn how to use the equipment safely. Ensure
that NO ONE works with the CRUSHER without full instructions.
• To use the CRUSHER, you need to be a qualied, authorized operator. To be qualied, it is necessary
to understand perfectly the instructions contained in this manual, as well as to have followed an
instruction and training course in the workplace, to know the safety regulations and the work regulations.
EMPLOYEE EDUCATION is the responsibility of the employer. The employer will inform the operator
on accident risks, on the position and function of the controls and safety devices on the equipment, and
on the accident prevention rules provided for by the legislation of the country in which the equipment is
used.
• Pay particular attention to prevent the presence of any person not involved in the work in the operating
area. If necessary, stop the activity and do not resume the work until the people are at a safe distance.
• Perform any maintenance operation with the hydraulic supply cut off, ensuring that there is no residual
pressure in the hydraulic system.
• Before disconnecting any hydraulic piping, make sure the circuit is not under pressure.
• Leaks of hydraulic oil under pressure can cause injuries, therefore in the search for possible leaks always
use adequate protections, such as gloves, glasses or screens.
• Periodically check that the CRUSHER always guarantees the necessary safety during operation.
• THE CRUSHER extends the excavator’s arm. The equipment could collide with the cab and arm, so pay
MAXIMUM ATTENTION during maneuvers.
• During operation, always use the operator’s protection cabin on the excavator.
• The use, maintenance and repair of the CRUSHER must be entrusted only to persons having the
knowledge of its characteristics and of the related safety procedures. At the same time, all accident
prevention regulations, generally recognized safety and occupational health rules and all road
trafc regulations must be respected. Arbitrary modications made to the equipment release the
MANUFACTURER from any responsibility in case of damage or injury.

FIXED CRUSHER FP SERIES
S
3.4 PROHIBITIONS
• DO NOT carry or lift people on the CRUSHER.
• DO NOT carry out maneuvers at risk that may cause the CRUSHER or its contents to tip over.
• DO NOT change the setting of the maximum pressure valves in the hydraulic circuits.
• DO NOT operate near live power lines, keeping a safe distance
• DO NOT remove or render illegible hazard, warning, attention and instruction decals; replace any
mentioned decal if it is damaged or illegible.
• DO NOT allow anyone to get on the CRUSHER.
• DO NOT modify or remove any part and/or component of the CRUSHER equipment.
• DO NOT use the equipment with the protections removed.
• DO NOT remove or inhibit safety devices.
• DO NOT adjust mechanical elements or equipment while these are in motion.
• DO NOT carry out repairs or maintenance with equipment in motion.
• DO NOT transit and/or stop near the work area.
• DO NOT modify any part of the equipment.
• DO NOT swing the equipment during the shearing phase.
• DO NOT use rotation during cutting.
