SL600 HD
Indicaons of Use: The Harmar Pinnacle SL600 HD is
to assist the transfer of paents or mobility impaired
persons, up and down levels of a residence.
READ AND UNDERSTAND
This manual provides instrucons for proper use and
maintenance of your SL600 HD Stair Li. Please refer
to this Owner’s Manual for operang instrucons.
Any alteraons to the equipment without wrien
authorizaon by the manufacturer is prohibited and
will void the warranty.
PURCHASING INFORMATION
If you have quesons concerning the operaon and
maintenance of your SL600 HD Stair Li, please
contact your dealer.
Please ensure that you ll out the separate warranty
form and return it within ten (10) days of purchase to
register your li.

CODE STATEMENT
Code requirements for the SL600 HD may
vary depending on locaon. It is the installers
responsibility to contact their state, city or local code
enforcement oce and determine all the regulaons
the li and installaon are subject to. You must do
this before installing the SL600 HD.

INTRODUCTION
STAIR LIFT FEATURES
Figure 2-1
• There are sensive edges on the top and boom
of the carriage, and the front, back and underside
of the footrest. If any of these edges touch an
obstrucon, the li will stop immediately and the
armrest LED indicator light will turn orange.
• An interlock on the swivel seat prevents the
li from being operated unless the seat is in its
normal, locked posion.
• The safety brake is always engaged.
CONTROLS
• The red “On/O” switch is located on the top
of the chassis. This switch is normally le in the
“On” posion. This switch can be turned “O” if
you do not expect to use the li for an extended
period of me. Ensure that the li is in the
charging posion. See Figure 2-2.

• The main “Up/Down” control switch is located
at the front of one armrest. Use this switch for
normal operaon of the li while in the seated
and secure posion. See Figure 2-1.
• There are “Up” and “Down” buons on the
remote call/send hand control units.

• A three-color LED indicator light is located in the
back of one armrest.
• If selected, an oponal key switch will be located
at the back of one armrest. Turn this o and
remove the key when you want to ensure the li
cannot be used in your absence.

SPECIAL CAUTIONS
Pay aenon to the following Special Cauons while
operang your stair li.
• Do not exceed the maximum payload capacity of
600 lb (272.2 kg)
• Make sure any obstrucons are cleared from the
rail before use.
• Do not disable any safety equipment or switches
supplied with this li.
• Do not aempt to service the li yourself.
Contact your Harmar dealer for assistance.
• Do not allow children to operate or play around
the li.
• Keep feet, hands, arms, legs and body well within
the connes of the chair during transport.
• This product is designed only for liing people
within the specied load capacity. Do not use it
for freight or any other purpose.
• Read all instrucons in this manual before
operang the li.

OPERATION

Operaon
1. When posioning yourself on the seat at the
upper landing, ensure the seat is fully swiveled
and locked in posion for safety. The seat may be
swiveled by depressing the swivel release handle
on either side of the seat.
2. To turn the stair li on, press the red “On/O”
switch, located on the top of the chassis to the
“On” posion and ensure that the key switch (if
equipped) is “On”. When the li is turned “On”, a
green light on the armrest will indicate that the
li is ready for use.
3. Ensure that you are securely seated before
operang the li. To operate the li, connuously
press the hand control switch on the side in
which you wish to travel.
4. If you release the control switch the li will stop.
Connue to press the switch or buon all the
way to the landing. The li will gently stop at the
appropriate, preset point.
5. To safely exit the li,remove seat belt, support
yourself by the armrests, rise and step o the
footrest. At the upper landing, ensure that
the seat is fully swiveled and locked before
rising. If you do not intend to use the li again
immediately the seat and footrest may be folded
up to minimize obstrucon to people walking on
the stairs.
6. To operate the li remotely, connuously press
the appropriate up or down buon on the call/
send hand control unit. Hand control units are
typically aached to a wall at the upper and lower
landings of the staircase.
If you are operang the li remotely on behalf
of another person, please ensure that they are
securely seated with the seatbelt fastened.
NOTE: An orange light and single beep indicate that the
li has touched an obstrucon and may only be operated
in the opposite direcon of the obstrucon. Clear the
obstrucon before proceeding.
If the light ashes orange and the li beeps intermiently,
the li has been stopped away from the top or boom
charging staons. Please move the li to either end of the
rail to ensure the baeries remain fully charged.
The LED indicator light will turn red if there is a service
issue. Turn the “On/O” switch to the “O” posion and
then back to the “On” posion. The lights should sequence
red-orange-green. If the light does not return to green,
contact your dealer.
Do not carry pets or children on your lap while
riding the stair li. The li is designed for use by
only one person at a me.
CAUTION
!
Never aempt to operate the li while standing
up. Always sit in the center of the seat with the
seat belt fastened around your waist.
CAUTION
!
Keep your feet centered on the footrest while
traveling up and down the stairs. Never dangle
your feet o the footrest while riding the li.

OPERATION
REMOTE CALL/SEND CONTROL
OPERATION
The key switch on the arm of the chair must be in the
“ON” posion to use the remote call/send control.
1. Press and hold the appropriate direconal
buon on the front of the hand control. The LED
indicator light will turn green when a signal is
being sent.
The chair li will operate with or without a rider.
All safety sensors on the chair li are designed
to connue to operate in their normal mode. The
LED light indicator on the armrest will also display
the appropriate color.
2. If the chair li fails to respond, this may indicate
the baeries are discharged and need to be
replaced. Remove the back cover of the control
and replace with AAA baeries, ensuring that the
polarity is correct.

Maintenance
BATTERY CHARGER
The stair li should be kept fully charged at all mes.
When the li stops at an upper or lower landing, it
will charge automacally. The charger should be le
plugged in at all mes.
CARE AND CLEANING
The li should require no technical maintenance to
connue to operate at full capability. There is no
grease or other lubricants used in the drive system,
and no adjustments should be required. However,
the li should be inspected annually. The li and rail
should be kept clean. Dust can build up on surfaces,
and soiling may occur. The upholstery and carriage
can be cleaned with a damp, soapy cloth followed by
a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers as
these can damage the nish. If heavy soiling occurs,
clean by scrubbing lightly with a so brush.

tool engaged.

MANUAL LOWERING TOOL
OPERATION
If your li fails to operate and the operator does not
wish to dismount on the stairway, another person
may use the manual lowering tool (oponal) to lower
(or raise) the li to a landing. However please follow
the instrucons on the boom safety ap of the li
and turn the li o. Insert the manual lowering tool
into the hole in the lower safety ap unl it engages
the motor sha, and turn in the direcon indicated.
LED INDICATOR LIGHTS
If your li does not operate, diagnose the problem by
observing the LED indicator light on the armrest and
listening to the beeps emied:
• A green light indicates the li is in operang
mode and may be moved in either direcon.
• An orange light indicates the li is touching an
obstrucon and may be operated only in the
direcon away from the obstrucon.
• A ashing orange light, accompanied by an
intermient beep for 30 seconds (aer a 5
second delay) indicates the li has been stopped
o the charge staon. It is recommended that
the li be immediately moved to a charge staon
(located either end of the rail).
• A red light indicates a problem that may require
a service call. If the light remains red aer
aempng to reset the li by turning it “O” and
then “On” again, please contact your local dealer
and describe the problem.

Harmar Mobility warrants its li products against
defects in material, mechanical and electrical
component (parts), excluding labor costs, paint and
covers, for a period of three (3) years from date of
retail purchase, as well as a one (1) year baery and
a ten (10) year gear rack, provided that the products
have been installed, maintained and operated
properly. This warranty does not cover maintenance
or adjustments. Harmar will not be charged for labor,
consequenal damage or repair expenses. Harmar will
not, under any circumstances, be liable for the loss of
the use of its products or loss of me. This warranty
becomes null and void if the product has been lost,
damaged by accident, over-stressed, misused and/
or neglected, or if the product has been modied in
any way. Defecve parts must be returned, prepaid,
to Harmar at the address listed above, for inspecon
prior to credit, repair or replacement, at Harmar’s
opon. Harmar’s sole obligaon and the exclusive
remedy under this warranty is limited to such credit,
repair or replacement.
THIS EXPRESS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF
ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS,
INCLUDING ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES
OR MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND THERE ARE NO
WARRANTIES THAT EXTEND BEYOND THE
DESCRIPTION OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY
DESCRIBED HEREIN. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU
SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO
HAVE OTHER LEGAL RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM
