Xpert SL Lightbar - Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
Xpert SL Lightbar lenses & external mouldings may be cleaned with either a soap & water mixture or a standard
glass cleaner.
 DO NOT submerge the lightbar in water.
 DO NOT use abrasive or solvent based cleaners as these will damage the surface of the lenses
and may also cause material damage to other polycabonate mouldings. Solvents containing
white spirit, fuels and acetone MUST BE AVOIDED.
DO NOT clean the metal extrusion of lightbar base with alloy cleaners as there is a risk of damage
to lenses & polycarbonate mouldings.
DO NOT use high powered jet washers. The underside of the lightbar is ventilated and the use of jet
washers may result in water penetration through these vent holes into the lightbar.
NOTE: If the lightbar is often exposed to environments containing salt water or large amounts of
dust, it is advised that the lightbar is cleaned as often as is necessary in accordance with the
instructions above to remove, & help prevent, the build up of salt/grime.
Removal of End & Centre Lenses.
To remove the lenses, first remove the two ‘button head’ end screws securing the end lens to the base using a
2.5mm hex bit driver. This will also release the end lens embellisher.

Installation
The instructions for mount kit assembly are packed in the kit supplied with the lightbar.
To ensure safe installation and use, this product should only be used in accordance with the instructions for this
lightbar and not be modified.
Torque Values:
End lens screws: 2Nm
Bridge mould screws: 2.5Nm

Then remove the TWO screws which secure the bridge mould to the lightbar using a P2 screw driver.
Carefully remove the bridge mould lifting evenly on BOTH SIDES at the same time to avoid damage. Retain
the two sealing washers for refitting.

If removing a centre/intermediate lens (where fitted), first remove the relevant bridge mouldings (clamps) at
each side of the centre/intermediate lens then carefully lift the centre lens clear.
Refit lenses:
Refitting is the reversal of removal for centre/intermediate lenses.
Ensure the lenses are located correctly onto the base and that the seals around the base of the lightbar are in
position and not twisted or distorted.
Secure the end lens(es) with the ‘button head’ end screws remembering to reft the end lens embellisher. Now
fit and secure the bridge moulding(s) remembering to refit the sealing washers.
NOTE: Tighten ALL screws to the torque values shown on Page 1!!!
To prevent water ingress and risk of detaching at speed, it is important that all lenses and mouldings are fitted
and secured in their correct location before use.
DO NOT over tighten the retaining screws on the end lenses or the bridge moulds (clamps).
Re-check ALL fittings BEFORE use.
The end lens(es) can now be removed.

Note: We recommend that the mounting points on all lightbars be positioned approximately 10" minimum and
up to 1/4 of the overall length of the lightbar in from the edge of the bar as shown below. Lightbars over 55",
particularly those which contain speaker assemblies or heavy strobe packs, should be supported in a central
