REFRACTORY, GRATE and
LOG PLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

MAKE SURE THE GRATE IS ON THE
SMALL BACK BEND TABS.
REFRACTORY AND GRATE:
To place the refractory into the
unit first make sure the bend up
tabs are all at 90°angles. Place
the refractory on the four largest
bend tabs.
The refractory should sit against
the front surround of the unit
and under the smaller back
tab(s). See Figure 1.
The grate is now placed onto
the refractory with the back legs
resting inside the location tab(s).
See Figure 2.
If this is not done the unit will not
function properly. The grate
should look centered in the unit
and on the refractory.

LOG PLACEMENT:
NOTE: Carefully remove logs from
the cardboard used in shipment.
Use caution, fiber logs are ex-
tremely fragile.

LOG NUMBER 1:
CFX-36T: PlaceLog#1towardstheback
of the grate and pull it up to the two tabs.
Make sure the detents on the bottom of
the log fit into place over the grate.
CFX-DA:PlaceLog#1towardstheback
of the grate and push back against the
firebox. Make sure the detents on the
bottomofthelogfitintoplaceoverthegrate.
LOG NUMBER 2:
Place Log #2 against the two tabs on
the right side of the grate. The detents
on the bottom of the log should fit into
place over the grate.

LOG NUMBER 3:
Place Log #3 against the two tabs on
the left side of the grate. The detents
on the bottom of the log should fit into
place over the grate.

LOG NUMBER 5:
LOG NUMBER 4:
Place the bottom of log #4 in the
inside corner of the second grate arm
from the left. Lay the top of the log
(burned-out area) in the nesting slot
on the right side of Log #1.
Place log #5 in the inside corner of
the right side of the middle grate arm.
Place the top of the log (burned-out
area) in the nesting slot of log #2. This
log should look parallel to log #4.
LOG NUMBER 6:
Place the bottom of Log #6 between
the second and third grate arm from
the right. Lay the top of the log
(burned-out area) in the nesting area
on the left side of log #1.
