USAGE AND CARE
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instructions concerning the use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do
not play with the appliance.
•Always follow provided operation manual and
instructions.
•Inspect and change the pre-filter at regular
intervals (weekly, monthly, quarterly),
depending on usage and application. More
frequent pre-filter changes extend the life of
the HEPA filter.
HEPACART recommends the use of PureGreen24 citric
acid based cleaner and disinfectant for everyday
cleaning of all surfaces. See below for additional
cleaning options for more set-in stains.
Window Care: Only use polycarbonate compatible
cleaning agents to clean the windows on the
HEPACART® or DUSTBUGGY®.
Retractable Enclosure Care: Retractable enclosure is
made using healthcare fabrics offering “clean-in-place”
convenience. Use neutral soap suds and lukewarm
water. Rinse and allow fabric to dry. For hard to clean
spots household/vinyl cleansers and/or a soft bristle
brush can be used. DO NOT USE HARSH CLENSERS OR
SOLVENTS.
Hard Sided Enclosure Care: Do not use abrasive or
highly alkaline products, scrape walls with squeegees,
razor blades, or other sharp instruments. Do not clean
while booth temperature is elevated or when a high
percentage of humidity exists.
If scratching should occur, minor abrasions can be
removed or minimized by using a mild automotive
polish. Examples include Johnson Paste Wax, Mirror
Glaze Plastic Polish, Plexus, and Novus Plastic Polish #1
and #2. Always test the chosen product on a small area
before overall use.
MAINTENANCE
For units with integral HEPA filtration, the HEPA filter
has been tested and certified for one year. The HEPA
filter provided with the HEPACART® is a robust, long
lasting filter that has been tested and certified at the
time of shipment. The HEPA filter, however, is made
from a paper media that must be protected if there is
chance it will be exposed to moisture.
Before Each Use: Inspect for damage to electrical cord,
casters and wheels, retractable enclosure, and negative
air machine. Clean up any debris left by the previous job
and check negative air machine for a clean pre-filter.
Short term intervals: Inspect pre-filter for accumulated
dust and debris that could restrict airflow through the
filter. If filter is damaged or visibly dirty, change the pre-
filter.
Long term intervals: Whenever damage is suspected or
at a decrease in airflow, the HEPA filter should be re-
certified. Testing is recommended annually, at a
minimum.
When using in a healthcare application or for
remediation: To mitigate the risk of cross-
contamination, replace both of the filters and clean the
unit thoroughly. Use a damp wipe and vacuum as
required. Allow unit to dry before installing new filters.
CHANGING THE FILTERS
Prefilter: Change the pre-filter whenever it shows
accumulation of dust and debris. Always change the
pre-filter between jobs where dangerous contaminants
were present.
1. Unplug the power cord from line voltage power
source.
2. Remove the (2) two screws from the pre-filter cover
on the top of the negative air machine housing.
3. Remove the pre-filter cover.
4. Grasp the pre-filter and pull up to remove.
5. Insert new pre-filter from the top. (minimum MERV
8 pre-filter)
6. Reposition the cover and re-install (2) screws.
