4.2 Getting in and out of the transfer chair
When sitting in or getting out of the chair, make sure that it is placed on a at, horizontal surface without obstacles to avoid any
risk of falling.
To get into the chair, make sure the patient is placed close to the chair, block the rear wheels, the parking brakes and raise the
footrest paddles to avoid hitting them during transfer. It is also possible to lift the retractable armrests for easier access to the

Caution: It is strictly forbidden to lean on the footrest paddles when trying to get out of the chair.
Danger of tipping over and injury!
4.3 Overcoming obstacles, uphill or downhill slopes
When driving on a slope, please note that there is already a risk of tipping over on slopes with a gradient of 8% (5°), and leaning
out of the chair increases the risk of tipping over. The lateral inclination should not exceed 15°.
For safety reasons, the assistant should drive the chair over obstacles such as pavements and steps very carefuly or with the
help of a second accompanying person. The accompanying person must be able to brake the chair on his or her own.
Depending on the eort or type of obstacle, the manoeuvre must be performed forwards or backwards.
4.4 Lifting the chair, climbing stairs
Never lift the chair using the armrests, but use the horizontal tubes on the sides of the seat. The help of two caregivers is
essential for the user’s safety.
When climbing stairs, it is advisable, as when descending a slope, to reverse the position of the transfer chair so that each
caregiver is positioned on either side of the transfer chair. The caregiver at the lowest point will grab the lower front part of the
transfer chair (never the footrests), the caregiver at the top of the stairs will use the handles to tip the transfer chair towards him
or her to allow the user to climb the stairs.
4.5 Pick up an object
When searching for an object in front of the chair, the multidirectional castors should be positioned forwards to increase the
stability of the chair, for an object behind, the castors should be positioned backwards. Under no circumstances should the
chair be tipped on the rear wheels without the assistance of a third party. In any case, it is recommended to lock the brakes on
the rear wheels beforehand.
4.6 Stability in motion or at rest
Designed to remain stable when moving around and when stationary, the stability of the chair is nevertheless dependent on
maintaining the patient’s centre of gravity within an area between the four points where the wheels rest on the oor. Both the
patient and the caregiver must ensure that this is maintained even when reaching an object. Only the arms may be extended
beyond the chair. The buttocks must always rest on the seat and under no circumstances should they be supported on the
paddles.
When the chair is unfolded, the seat and backrest canvases should be stretched. Under no circumstances should the chair be
used if they are cut, torn or in danger of breaking. If in doubt, always replace them.

least once a year, or as soon as a problem is encountered.
Please note that only original transfer chair components should be used to repair the transfer chair, otherwise the manufacturer’s
