You arenowinpossessionofahigh qualitymicroprocessorcontrolledclassII cabinet, HOLTEN
SAFE 2000, designedtoprovideprotectionoftheoperator,thesurroundingsandtheworkprocess
itselfagainstparticle/microbiologicalcontamination.
Thecabinetcomplieswiththedemandsstipulatedin“NSFStd49”, “NordiskaR3-Föreningens
Normforsäkerhetsbänkar”, “DIN12950Teil10”¨, “NF44/201”andBS5726(92).
ThenewHOLTEN SAFE 2000class II cabinethas ;
•Microprocessorcontrollerwith :

-Clockforpre-settingautomaticstart-up,UV-timer,and hourcounter.
-Clearindicationofrequiredfilterchange.

Ifthecoverisremoved, thereisnopersonalprotection,andthefanwill runwithuncovered

surroundingsagainstharmfulgasesorvapours.
Remove hands fromtheworkchamberpriortoactivating
slidingmodeforthefrontwindow!
3Installation
1.Checkthatthedimensionsoftheunitprovidefreeaccess totheintendedsiteofinstallation.
Thecabinetmaybetilted10°overanaxlesothatthesloping frontisinverticalposition.
Furthermoreyoumaydismountthefrontshieldwiththecontrolpanel.
Thecabinetmaythenbemovedthroughastandard800-mm widedoor.
Note!Itispossibletoremovetheclampofthemainsocket.
Howtodismountthefrontshield:
Step1. Bringthefrontwindowinthelowestposition.
Step2. Unscrewthescrewforthegasspring, pos.1-fig.2
Step3. Pull outtheplugforthecontrolpanel, pos. 2-fig. 2

2.Theinstallationsitefortheunitshouldbedraught-free andshouldbeselectedsothat
frequentpassingofpersonsinfrontoftheworkopening isavoided.
3.Thetabletopsofstainless steelaremountedoverthetrough.
4.Adjustthelevellingscrewstoassurethatthetabletopisinhorizontalpositionandlevelled.
5.ConnectthecabinettotheMains.
Note! Prior to anyworkontheelectrical installationit must be checkedthatthe
mainssupply specifications correspondstothat statedonthe typeplate.
Forincreasedsafety theconnectionshouldbe madeasafixedinstallation.
Furthermoremakesurethat themainsisconnectedto aninstallationwhichis
protectedby high sensitive leakagecurrent contact breaker.
6.Valvesforgases,vacuum,orliquidsarepositionedinaseparateplateintheleftorright
handsidewindow, andanauthorisedtechnicianshouldcarryoutconnectionofthese.
PLEASENOTE!
-Whenthecabinethasbeeninstalled, checkthatthewindowhoistis functioning, asslants
causedduringtransport/installationmaycausedamage.
-Checkthatthefrontwindowisinthecorrectposition,i.e. paralleltotheside
profilesand abovethesidewindows.
-Checkthatthewindowslidesfromtop tobottomwithoutanyirregularsound.
Pleasenotethattherewillbesomesound/noisefromthegearwhenthewindowis
pulledawayfromortowardstheseal.
-IfthewindowdoesnotmovewhentheUP/DOWNbuttonispressed, authorised
service personnelmustbecalledimmediatelytocorrectthefault.
Under nocircumstances musthands/armsbenearthetablefront, asthewindow
mayfall down, ifthehoistingsystemisnotworking correctly.

4WorkingRules
Rulestofollowpriortouse...
-Thecabinetsshouldbeusedindoorsinanormalclinicalenvironmentwithatemperaturebetween
18 °Cand 28 °C, normalhumidityandatmosphericpressure.
-Allthecabinetsaredesignedand producedtobeusedincleanenvironments.
-Theyarenot tobeusedoutdoorsorinenvironmentswithhigh humidityorpollution. Thecabinets
arenot constructedtoventilatevapourswithacidorcontainingorganicsolvents. Thecabinets
mustnot beusedasfumehoods.
-About10minutespriortousage,thefanoftheunitshouldbeswitchedonforoperationatnormal
speed.
-Theworkchamberand front/sidewindowsaretobecarefullycleanedanddisinfected.Use70%
ethanolorsimilar.Itisrecommendedtousespeciallint-free wipe.
-Objectsandappliancesmustbecarefullycleanedordisinfectedpriortobeing introducedintothe
workchamber.
-Thefrontwindowispositionedinworking positionandkeptinthatpositionduringthe
entireworkprocess.
-Necessaryappliancesforuseduring workmustbeplacedwithineasyreach.
-Ensureappropriateprotectionofoperatoraswell asproduct(e.g.clothes,gloves,masks,visors,
etc.).
Importantwhenperformingbiohazardwork!
-Neverperformanyworkwiththefanatreducedspeed.
-Thefrontwindowmustbeinworkingpositionduringthework.
-Placetheproductbehindthefrontsuctionholesofthetabletop,-asfarbackaspossible.
-Workwithsteady/softmovements.
-Neveroverloadtheworkchamber.
-Reducethenumberoftransfersintoandoutoftheworkchamber.
-Avoidproductsorremedieswithstrongemissionofheat.
-Donotpositionthecabinetinplaceswithdirectdraughttowardstheworkopening.
-Positionthecabinetsothatfrequentpassingofpersonsinfrontoftheworkopeningisavoided.

2)EfficiencyoftheinstalledHEPAfilters.
3)Tightnessoftheconstruction.
Aqualifiedtechnicianshouldtesttheseparametersatintervalsofapprox.5000hoursofoperationor

Note: Mostdisinfectantsaremixturescontainingseveralcomponents.
Avoid theuseofproductscontaining iodine, chloramine, chlorine
dioxide, hypochloride, phenol, and perchloricacid.
Useable disinfectantscontain
alcoholoraldehydes.
Recommended disinfectantsare
70%(volume)pureethanol
or
2%(volume)glutoricaldehyde
or
15%(volume)formaldehyde.
Theuseofotherdisinfectantsisnotrecommended. HOLTEN LAMINAIR cannottakeany
responsibilityregardingeffectiveness oreventualdeterioration ofmaterialsofClass II
cabinet.
