The DS-7600 series NVR is a new generation product deve oped by HIKVISION. Bui t on an embedded p atform, the DS-7600 series NVR

Ope ating You NVR
There are numerous ways to navigate and operate your NVR. You may use the front pane , the IR (Infrared) remote, a mouse, and the
soft keyboard.

Aim the remote contro at the IR receiver ocated at the front of the unit to test operation. If there is no response:
1. Use the mouse to go to Menu > System Configuration > Genera > More Settings.
2. Check and remember the NVR ID#. The defau t ID# is 255. This ID# is va id for a IR contro s.
3. Press the DEV button on the remote.
4. Enter the NVR ID# from step 2.
5. Press the ENTER button on the remote contro .
If there is sti no response from the remote, check the fo owing:
1. Batteries are insta ed correct y and the po arities of the batteries are not reversed.
2. Batteries are fresh and not out of charge.
3. IR receiver is not obstructed.
4. No f uorescent amp is used nearby.
Using a USB Mouse
A regu ar 3-button ( eft/right/scro -whee ) USB mouse can a so be used with this NVR. To use a USB mouse:
1. P ug USB mouse into one of the USB ports on the front pane of the NVR.
2. The mouse shou d automatica y be detected. If in a rare case the mouse is not detected, refer to the recommended device ist from
your provider.
The buttons on the mouse correspond to:
1. Left Button:
•Single-Click: Se ect a menu component such as a button or an input fie d. This is simi ar to pressing the ENTER button on the
remote contro .
•Double-Click: Switch between sing e screen and mu ti-screen mode in Preview/ P ayback mode.
•Click and D ag: C icking and dragging the eft mouse button can contro the pan/ti t of a PTZ camera as we as to vary the
position of digita zoom area and camera OSD. It can a so be used to set the a arm areas.
2. Right Button:
•Single-Click: Shows pop-up menu in preview interface. Exit to return to the previous menu.
Using the Soft Keyboa d
When a mouse is used to perform task on the NVR, c icking on a text input fie d wi bring up the Soft Keyboard, shown in Figure 7.

Activating You DVR
To ensure the highest eve of protection, Hikvision has aunched a ogin procedure that requires users to create a new password for the

NOTE: DVRs/NVRs starting with the atest firmware (see chart, above) NO LONGER HAVE A DEFAULT PASSWORD. The
user must activate the NVR by creating a password for the admin account, which can be done in one of four ways:
•Local Activation
1. Power on the DVR/NVR.

An activation message wi appear on the screen prompting the user to activate the device (Figure 8).

2. Type in a password of your choosing (see Table 1, Passwo d St ength Levels, page 32, for guide ines).
