Safety Warnings
• Retain the manual� If you pass the unit onto a third party make sure to include this manual�
Damage
• Please inspect the unit for damage after unpacking�
• Do not continue to operate the unit if you are in any doubt about it working normally, or if
it is damaged in any way - switch o and consult your dealer�
Temperature
• Avoid extreme degrees of temperature, either hot or cold� Place the unit well away from
heat sources such as radiators or gas/electric res�
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and other sources of heat�
Naked Flames
• Never place any type of candle or naked ame on the top of or near the unit�
Moisture
• Do not expose this unit to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing�
• If you spill any liquid into the unit, it can cause serious damage� Switch it o and consult
your dealer�
Interference
• Do not place the unit on or near appliances which may cause electromagnetic interference�
If you do, it may adversely aect the working of the unit, and cause a distorted picture or
sound�
LCD screen
• The LCD screen is manufactured using high-precision technology� However, some tiny black
points and/or bright points (red, blue or green in colour) may constantly appear on the LCD
screen� These points are generated in the manufacturing process and are normal�
Earphones
• For trac safety, do not use earphones while driving or cycling�
• Listening to loud sounds for prolonged periods of time may permanently damage your
hearing�
• Before putting on earphones, turn the volume down then put the earphones on and slowly
increase the volume until you reach a comfortable listening level�

SOME DOS AND DON’TS ON THE SAFE USE OF EQUIPMENT
This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards
but, like any electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results and
safety is to be assured�

• DO read the operating instructions before you attempt to use the equipment�
• DO ensure that all electrical connections (including the mains plug, extension leads and
inter-connections between the pieces of equipment) are properly made and in accordance
with the manufacturer’s instructions� Switch o and withdraw the mains plug before
making or changing connections�

your equipment�

that it is designed for unattended operation or has a stand-by mode� Switch o using the
switch on the equipment and make sure that your family know how to do this� Special
arrangements may need to be made for inrm or handicapped people�

Connecting to a Computer
System Requirements
Your computer system must meet the following requirements:
• Pentium 200MHz or above
• Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP / Vista® / 7
• 120MB of available hard disk space
• USB port supported
Loading Files from a Computer to the MP3 Player
Files can be transferred directly to the MP3 player by using the USB connector�
1� Make sure your computer system has started up before you start�
2� Push out the retractable USB connector on the backside of the MP3 player�
Please do not disconnect the MP3 player from the computer during le transfers as it
may cause the le transfer process and MP3 player to malfunction�
• Fully charge the MP3 player before you use it for the rst time (~8 hours) or when you
haven’t used it for a long period of time�
• Do not overcharge the battery as it may shorten its life�
• The MP3 player does not function while charging or loading les�
3� Insert the USB connector into a free USB port on your computer�
4� The computer system will detect “New hardware” and start to install the driver
automatically� Wait for the system to nish the installation� When it has nished, a new
“Removable Disk” will be created in “My Computer”�
5� Select the les on your computer and simply drag and drop into the “Removable Disk”�
6� To disconnect the MP3 player from the computer, double click the “Safely Remove
Hardware“ icon on the task bar� Select the “USB Mass Storage Device“, and then click
“STOP“� The “Stop a Hardware device” pop-up window will appear, select “USB Mass
Storage Device” and click “OK”� Then you can unplug the MP3 player safely�

Charging the Battery
Your MP3 player has a built-in rechargeable Li-polymer battery� The battery is charged
automatically whenever the MP3 player is connected to a computer�
If you charge the MP3 player while loading les to the MP3 player, it may take a longer time�

Basic Operation
Power On/O the MP3 Player
Make sure the battery power level is sucient and the earphones are connected�
• Press and hold the button to power on�
• Press and hold the button to power o�
Unlock All Buttons
All the buttons will automatically lock if the MP3 player remains idle for a short period of
time� This prevents you from accidentally pressing the buttons while using the MP3 player on
the move�
To unlock, press and hold the button when the buttons are locked� You can set this time
period in the “Setting” section of the main menu� (see page 18)�
Adjusting the Volume
• Press the +/– buttons to adjust the volume�
Entering the Main Menu
1� Press and hold the button to enter the main menu�
2� Press the buttons to select: Music, Record, Voice, Folder, and Settings�
3� Then press the button to enter the desired settings�

While increasing the volume by pressing the + button, when you have reached the volume
safety cap you will hear a warning sound and a “ ” icon will show on the display� Press
the button to accept and then press the + button to continue to increase the volume�
Otherwise press the /M button to cancel�
If you continue to playback for 5 hours with the volume set above the safety level, you
will hear a warning sound and a “ ” icon will show on the display� Press the button to
continue or press the /M button to cancel�

1� To manage your audio les, make sure the music is paused and then press the button�
2� Press the buttons and then the button to access the following:
Local folder
To view all audio les from local folder�
Use the buttons to select an audio le or a folder, and then press the button to select
the le and enter music playing mode�
Delete le
To delete the current le�
Use the buttons to select “YES” or “NO”, and then press the button to conrm�
Delete all
To delete all les stored in the local folder�
Use the buttons to select “YES” or “NO”, and then press the button to conrm�

Recording a Voice
1� Press and hold the button to enter the main menu�

Voice recording is automatically stopped when the memory of the MP3 player is full� Data
that has been already recorded is automatically saved�
3� Press the button to start recording�
During recording, you can:
• Pause/Resume Recording: Press the button to pause recording� Press the button
again to resume recording�
• Save the Recording: Press and hold the button to save the recording�
4� After saving the recording, the unit will enter Voice mode and the recordings can be
listened to� See page 14 for details�

1� To manage your voice les, make sure the recording is paused and then press the
button before start recording�
2� Press the buttons and then the button to access the following:
Record Type
Use the buttons to select Long Time (32kps), Normal (64kps), High Quality (128kps/
256kps) recording quality, and then press the button to conrm�
Exit
To exit and return to Voice Recording mode� Press the button to conrm�

Customising the Settings
The system settings let you customise and congure your MP3 player�
1� Press and hold the button to enter the main menu�
2� Use the buttons to select Settings� Then press the button to display the following
screen�
3� Press the buttons and then the button to access the following:
Backlight
Set up the time after which the LCD backlight will turn o� When the backlight has turned
o, press any buttons to turn it on�
Use the buttons to select among: 0s, 3s, 5s, 10s, 15s, 30s� Press the button to conrm�
Language
Set up the display language�
Use the buttons to select the desired language� The available languages include:
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Hungarian,
Turkish, Czech, Slovakian and Romanian� Press the button to conrm�
Power O
Use the buttons to select O time to power o automatically after a certain time in idle
mode� The available options include: 0s,10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s� Press the button to
conrm�
Use the buttons to select Sleep time to power o automatically after the preset time�
The available options include: 0m, 10m, 20m, 30m, 40m, 50m, 60m 70m, 80m, 90m, 100m,
110m, 120m� Press the button to conrm�
Version
To view software version and the free memory size�
Reset
Reset all settings back to default settings�
Use the buttons to select Yes or No� Press the button to conrm�
Lock
Use the buttons to select button lock time� The available options include: 0s, 5s, 10s,
30s, 60s, 255s� Press the button to conrm�
Exit
Exit and return to the main menu�
4� Press the button to return to the previous menu or press and hold the button to
return the main menu�

Hints and Tips
If a problem does occur, it may often be due to something very minor� The following table
contains various tips�
Cannot power on • The battery may be exhausted� Plug it into the USB port of a
computer turned on�
Files cannot be downloaded • Check if the driver is installed correctly in the computer�
• Check the connection between the MP3 player and computer�
No sound from the
earphones • Check that the volume is on�
• Check the connection between the earphones and MP3 player�
• Check if the music le format is supported by the MP3 player�
Recording cannot be done • Check if there is enough memory and battery capacity�
The buttons do not work • The key may be locked� Press and hold the button to
deactivate the lock function�
The MP3 player does not
function properly • Use a paper clip to press the reset button to turn the MP3 player
o� Press the button to turn it on again�
