Read Instructions
Read all of the safety and operating instructions before
using the product and retain them for future reference.
Cleaning
Turn off the power and clean with a dry, soft cloth.
Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners.

manufacturer as doing so may result in fire, electric
shock, or serious injury.
Water and Moisture
Do not use this product near water or moisture.
Mounting
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions when mounting
the product. Use only mounting accessories
recommended by the manufacturer.
Power Sources
This product should be operated only from the type of
power source indicated on the marking label. If you are
not sure of the type of power supplied to your facility,
consult your equipment dealer or local power
company.
Ventilation
Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accor-
dance with the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure
reliable operation of the product and to protect it from
overheating.
Servicing
Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Refer all
servicing to qualified service personnel.

Precautions 1
Operating
Before using the camera, make sure the power supply
and video output are properly connected. When
operating the camera, if any abnormal condition or
malfunction is observed, stop using the camera
immediately and call your equipment dealer.
Handling
Do not disassemble the camera. Never touch the
internal parts of the camera.
Do not drop the camera or subject it to shocks and
vibrations.
When attaching or removing the lens, take care that no
moisture or dust enters the camera body.
Avoid viewing bright objects (such as light fixtures) for
extended periods, or bright vertical and horizontal lines
may appear on the screen.
Installation and storage
Do not point the camera at the sun as this could
damage the camera whether it is operating or not.
Do not install the camera where the temperature could
exceed the allowable range. Make sure the ambient
temperature is less than 104°F (40°C) in installations
intended for long term continuous operation.
Avoid installing or storing the camera in locations where
the camera may be exposed to:
• water/rain
• humidity
• dust
•radiation
• mechanical vibrations
• strong magnetic fields and electrical signals
Daily check
To maintain proper operation for surveillance use,
check the camera output every day for a clear and
focused picture.

High sensitivity 1/3-inch CCD with on-chip micro
lenses and low-noise digital signal processing circuit
provides sensitivity down to 0.1 lux at F1.2, 50 IRE.
High quality image Horizontal resolution of 600 TVL
(HCC10/HCC10X) or 650 TVL (HCC210/HCC210X).
Digital signal processing with optimization of control
program and image correction algorithm.
BLC/HLC When strong light enters the scene back-
ground (such as from a spotlight or window), backlight
compensation automatically adjusts the video level to
preserve visibility. Highlight compensation masks
bright spots in a scene.
White balance Seven user-selectable white balance
control modes for varying conditions.
Iris function Drive output for video iris and DC iris
lens. Built-in electronic shutter allows eight shutter
speeds up to 1/100000 second. CCD iris function auto-
matically sets picture brightness by changing the
shutter speed of the camera according to the incident
light when using a manual iris lens.

Use when installing the lens. C-mount lens
uses a C-mount adapter. CS-mount lens
does not need a C-mount adapter.

Installing the Lens
1. Remove the lens mount cap from the camera
(if present).
2. Screw the lens clockwise onto the lens mount of
the camera (A). If you are using a C-mount lens,
you will need to attach the C-mount adapter first.
3. Connect the auto-iris drive cable to the 4-pin
interface on the side of the camera (B).
Use a Suitable Lens
• The camera can use CS-mount lenses or C-mount
lenses. C-mount lens require a C-mount adapter.
• Use a suitable lens for the required field of view.
The field of view for different focal length can be
obtained using the following formula:

Note Do not attach the C-mount adapter when using
a CS-mount lens.
Note In the illustration below, “L” should be as shown
in the table. If “L” exceeds the value in the table,
it may damage the inside of the camera and
make correct mounting impossible.
Connecting the Wiring
Note Do not turn on the power of any connected
equipment until all connections are completed.
1. Connect the power input of the camera to an
external 12 V DC or 24 V AC power supply.
2. Connect the video output of the camera to the
video input of your monitor.

3. Optionally, make alarm input and output
connections. Alarm input is active when shorted
to ground (G). Alarm out is open collector
controlled by alarm in. Absolute maximum alarm
out values are 12 V DC and 200 mA.
4. Optionally, connect the D/N input of the camera
to an external day/night control and set the OSD
Day/Night menu to EXT1 or EXT2. When the D/N
terminal is connected to the ground (G) terminal,
the camera is forced into night mode. The
camera remains in night mode until the D/N
terminal is disconnected from the G terminal.
5. Optionally, connect a DVR or keyboard using the
RS-485 ports (D+, D–). Connect T+,T– of the
DVR or keyboard to D+, D– of the camera. The
default baud rate is 4800, address is 001, and
protocol is Pelco-D.
Note The camera address cannot be changed.
Only one camera address is supported.
Mounting the Camera
The camera can be installed to a tripod, housing, wall
mount, or ceiling mount using the 1/4–20 UNC
mounting holes on the top and bottom of the camera.
Adjusting the Back Focus
After installing the lens and connecting the wiring, you
can adjust the lens focus and zoom. If the correct focus
cannot be obtained, you can adjust the back focus
manually using the back focus screw on the side of the
camera (see illustration on page 7).
To adjust the back focus:
1. Fully open the iris, set the zoom ring (if
applicable) to full WIDE, set the focus ring to
NEAR.
2. Loosen the back focus screw, adjust the back
focus ring to focus the picture, and then re-
tighten the back focus screw.

Setup Menu
To display the on-screen camera setup menu, press the
joystick control at the rear of the camera (see page 8),
and then hold for 2 seconds.
Move the joystick control UP or DOWN to move the
cursor to a desired menu item. Move the joystick control
LEFT or RIGHT to change the menu option. Press the
joystick control to enter a submenu () or activate a
menu option. When you are done, move the cursor to
RETURN, and then press the joystick.
When you have finished configuring the camera, select
SAVE ALL, and then press the joystick control to save
your settings.
About Iris, Shutter, and AGC Settings
In the LENS settings menu and in the SHUTTER/AGC
settings menu, you can:
• Configure iris, shutter speed, and auto gain control
(AGC) settings manually to obtain the optimum
brightness of the image.
- or -
• Set iris, shutter speed, and AGC to AUTO mode,
enabling the parameters to adjust automatically in
response to changes in the lighting environment.
Note If the iris, shutter speed, and AGC are all in AUTO
mode in a high luminance environment, auto iris
is prior to auto shutter. In a low luminance
environment, the priority is reversed: auto
shutter is prior to auto iris. Auto AGC only takes
effect in low luminance environments.
Note For proper operation of the electronic shutter, if
the illumination levels exceed 10,000 lux, use an
auto iris lens.

Lens
In the setup menu, move the cursor to LENS, and then
select MANUAL mode or AUTO mode. Press the
joystick to enter the configuration menu.
•In
MANUAL mode, you can set the LENS IRIS
value manually.
•In
AUTO mode, you can set the auto iris type,
mode, and speed.
Shutter/AGC
In the setup menu, move the cursor to SHUTTER/AGC,
and then select MANUAL mode or AUTO mode. Press
the joystick to enter the configuration menu.
•In
MANUAL mode, you can set the SHUTTER
speed and AGC value manually.
•In
AUTO mode, the SHUTTER speed and AGC
value adjust automatically in response to changes
in the lighting environment (divided here into high
luminance and low luminance).

High Luminance
Low Luminance
White Balance
The white balance feature processes the image to retain
color balance over a color temperature range and
remove unrealistic color casts.
In the setup menu, move the cursor to WHITE BAL, and
then select one of the following white balance modes:
ATW, PUSH, USER1, USER2, ANTI CR, or PUSH
LOCK.
•In
ATW (Auto Tracking White Balance) mode, white
balance is continuously adjusted as the color
temperature of the scene changes.
Note Only advanced users should adjust ATW
settings.
MODE When LENS is set to AUTO , you can set
the mode to
SHUT+AUTO IRIS or
AUTO IRIS . When LENS is set to
MANUAL , only SHUT is available.
BRIGHTNESS Set the desired brightness value that
the iris and shutter speed will

•InPUSH mode, white balance is adjusted
automatically according to the color temperature.
•In
USER1 and USER2 mode, white balance is
adjusted manually. USER1 mode is suitable for
indoor applications generally. USER2 mode is
suitable for environments with fluorescent light.
•InANTI CR mode, the system suppresses color
rolling caused by small differences between the
flicker frequency of non-inverter fluorescent lights
and the drive frequency of the image sensor
devices.
SPEED Set the ATW speed to a value
between
0 and 255 .
DELAY CNT Set the delay time between
monitoring the changing lighting
conditions and adjusting the white
balance.
ATW FRAME Set the ATW image size. Select x0.50 ,

white balance settings as the current white balance
settings.
Backlight
When strong backlighting is present, subjects in the
foreground appear silhouetted. Backlight
compensation (BLC) increases the brightness of the
scene so that foreground subjects are properly
exposed.
Highlight compensation (HLC) masks strong light
sources (such as automobile headlights) to reveal
details that were obscured by the light’s flare effect.
In the setup menu, move the cursor to BACKLIGHT,
and then select BLC, HLC, or OFF.
LEVEL Set the white balance level to a
value between 0and 255.

Picture Adjust
In the setup menu, move the cursor to PICT ADJUST,
and then press the joystick to enter the configuration
menu.
ATR (Adaptive Tone Reproduction)
ATR is a digital dynamic range function that provides
gradation compensation to improve the contrast of
subjects whose gradation has been lost.
To enable ATR, in the setup menu, move the cursor to
ATR, and then select ON. Press the joystick to enter the
configuration menu.
MIRROR Set to ON to flip the picture horizontally.
BRIGHTNESS Adjust the brightness. Select a value
between
0 and 255 .
CONTRAST Adjust the contrast. Select a value
between
0 and 255 .
SHARPNESS Adjust the sharpness. Select a value
between
0 and 255 .
HUE Adjust the color tone. Select a value
between 0and 255.
GAIN Adjust the color gradation. Select a
value between 0and 255.

Motion Detection
The motion detection function detects moving objects
in a scene. Motion detection is triggered when the
differences between frames in a monitored area exceed
a specific level.
1. Press SET to display the Setup menu.
2. Move the cursor to MOTION DET, and then
press the left or right setup button to set the
motion detection function.

Privacy
You can set up privacy masks to conceal sensitive or
non-essential areas of the scene from view.
Note You can create up to 8 privacy masks, but only 4
are available when motion detection is enabled.
To use privacy masks, in the setup menu, move the
cursor to
PRIVACY , and then select ON . Press the
joystick to enter the configuration menu.
Day/Night
When the day/night function is enabled, the camera
provides color images in well-lit conditions and
automatically switches to black-and-white images in
low-light conditions.
In the setup menu, move the cursor to DAY/NIGHT , and
then select one of the following modes:

B/W , EXT1 , or EXT2 .
