Pre-installation checklist
This manual covers the following models:
T822K,L • T827K
Must be installed by a trained, experienced technician
Read these instructions carefully. Failure to follow these instructions
can damage the product or cause a hazardous condition.
CAUTION: ELECTRICAL HAZARD
Can cause electrical shock or equipment damage. Disconnect power before
beginning installation.
MERCURY NOTICE
If this product is replacing a control that contains mercury in a sealed tube, do not
place the old control in the trash. Contact your local waste management authority for
instructions regarding recycling and proper disposal.

1. Pull wires through wire hole.
Position base on wall, level and
mark hole positions.
2. Drill holes (3/16” holes for
drywall, 7/32” holes for plas-
ter), then tap in supplied wall
anchors.
3. Pull wires through base, posi-
tion over anchors, and insert
screws. Check level if desired,
then tighten screws.
Base installation
1. Loosen screw terminals, insert bare wires
beneath screws, then re-tighten screws.
2. Push any excess wire back into the wall
opening
3. Plug the wall opening with nonflammable
insulation to prevent drafts from affecting
thermostat operation.
Terminal Designations
RHeating power. Connect to secondary
side of heating system transformer.
WHeat relay.
YCompressor or normally closed hot water

Use 18-gauge thermostat wire. Shielded
cable is not required.

Align the slots on the cover with tabs on the
sides of the base, then push gently until the
cover snaps into place.

Operation
Honeywell warrants this product to be free from defects in
the workmanship or materials, under normal use and service,
for a period of ve (5) years from the date of purchase by the
consumer. If at any time during the warranty period the prod-
uct is determined to be defective or malfunctions, Honeywell
shall repair or replace it (at Honeywell's option).
If the product is defective,
(i) return it, with a bill of sale or other dated proof of pur-
chase, to the place from which you purchased it; or
(ii) call Honeywell Customer Care at 1-800-468-1502.
Customer Care will make the determination whether the prod-
uct should be returned to the following address:
Honeywell Return Goods, Dock 4 MN10-3860, 1885 Doug-
las Dr. N., Golden Valley, MN 55422, or whether a replacement
product can be sent to you.
This warranty does not cover removal or reinstallation
costs. This warranty shall not apply if it is shown by Honey-
well that the defect or malfunction was caused by damage
which occurred while the product was in the possession of
a consumer.
Honeywell's sole responsibility shall be to repair
or replace the product within the terms stated above.
HONEYWELL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR
DAMAGE OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING ANY INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING, DIRECTLY OR
INDIRECTLY, FROM ANY BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, OR ANY OTHER FAILURE OF THIS
PRODUCT. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limita-
tion of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation
may not apply to you.
THIS WARRANTY IS THE ONLY EXPRESS WARRANTY
HONEYWELL MAKES ON THIS PRODUCT. THE DURA-
TION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, IS HEREBY LIMITED TO THE FIVE-
YEAR DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY. Some states do not
allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so
the above limitation may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specic legal rights, and you may
have other rights which vary from state to state.

AVIS SUR LE MERCURE
Si le nouveau thermostat remplace un ancien régulateur contenant un contact à
mercure, ne pas mettre l’ancien régulateur aux poubelles. Communiquer avec le service
local de cueillette des déchets pour obtenir de l’information sur le recyclage ou sur la
bonne façon de disposer d’un ancien régulateur contenant un contact à mercure.

1. Tirez les ls par l’ouverture de
la plaque. Placez la plaque sur
le mur, mettez-la à niveau et
marquez la position des trous.
2. Percez des trous (3/16" pour
la cloison sèche, 7/32" pour
le plâtre), puis enfoncez les
chevilles.
3. Tirer les fils par la base du ther-
mostat et insérer les vis. Vérifier
si le thermostat est de niveau
(facultatif) et serrer les vis.
Montage de la plaque
1. Desserrez les bornes à vis, insérez les fils
nus sous des vis, puis resserrez les vis.
2. Rentrez les fils qui dépassent dans
l'ouverture du mur.
3. Bouchez l’ouverture du mur avec de
l’isolant ininflammable pour empêcher
les courants d’air de perturber le
fonctionnement du thermostat.
Désignation des bornes
RAlimentation chauffage. Raccorder au
côté secondaire du transformateur de
l’installation de chauffage.
WRelais de chauffage.
YCompresseur ou vanne à eau chaude
normalement fermée. **

Caractéristiques du fil
Utilisez du fil à thermostat de calibre 18. Il
n’est pas nécessaire d’utiliser du fil blindé.

Alignez les fentes du couvercle avec les
languettes du thermostat, puis poussez
doucement jusqu’à ce que le couvercle
s’emboîte en place.

Honeywell garantit ce produit contre tout vis de fabrication

ou tombe en panne, Honeywell le réparera ou le remplacera (au
choix d’Honeywell).

lieu où vous l’avez acheté, ou

Le service clients décidera si le produit doit être renvoyé à

produit de remplacement peut vous être envoyé.
Cette garantie ne couvre pas les frais de démontage ou de
réinstallation. Elle ne s’applique pas si Honeywell prouve que
le défaut ou la défaillance provient de dommages qui se sont
produits pendant que le produit était dans la possession d’un
acquéreur.
