Sliding Rack Mount Kit Installation
HP xw6200 Workstation
This document describes how to install the sliding rack mount kit on an HP xw6200 Workstation and how
to install the workstation into a rack.
Kit Contents
This product is shipped with the necessary supplies for installing the sliding rack kit on an HP xw6200
Workstation in HP round hole and square hole racks, earlier HP racks, and some third-party racks
including some with threaded holes. The following list describes all of the included parts. Not all parts are
used with every application.
Earlier HP Racks
Parts for installing the sliding rack mount in HP legacy racks are sold separately in adapter kit part number
5064-9677. This adapter includes these parts:

Earlier HP racks include E3660B, E3661B, E3662B, J1450B, J1487A,B.
■T-15 Torx driver
■T-25 Torx driver
■M10 socket
■Flat blade driver
Remove the Top Cover
1. Turn off the system and disconnect the power cable and all other cables from the back of the system.
2. Remove the top cover by pushing a flat screw driver into the slot 1on the rear of the chassis and
gently pry the cover upward while pushing the top cover toward the rear of the workstation and lift it
off.
NOTE: If the top cover is difficult to remove, open the access panel and remove the front bezel. This will
allow you to get a better grip on the top cover and push it toward the rear. Be sure to the replace access
panel and front bezel after removing the top cover. For information on these tasks, refer to the Service and

Install the Rails and Flanges
1. Align the left bracket with the screw holes on the left side (bottom) of the chassis 1.
2. Use a Torx driver and two screws to attach the flange 2.
3. Align the inner slide with the two screw holes on the left side (bottom) of the chassis 3.
NOTE: Front inner slide mounting hole is keyhole shaped.
4. Use a Torx driver and two screws to attach the slide 4.
5. Repeat this process for the right side (top) of the chassis.

Install the Rails to the Rack
To adjust slides (only necessary to fit shallower or deeper non-HP racks)
1. Remove the slide adjustment attachment 1.
2. Adjust the rail to the desired length 2.
3. Insert the slide adjustment attachment 3.

Installing on Round Hole and Square Hole Racks
NOTE: This product must be mounted in the middle of a 4U space. Use the mounting aid at the end of this
document to determine a 4U space and mark the center.
1. Engage the three pins on the rear slide mounting bracket in the holes in the rear rack column; slide
forward to lock in place 1.
2. Engage the three pins on the front slide mounting bracket in the holes in the front rack column; slide
rearward to lock in place 2.
NOTE: Slide telescopes to accomplish this.
Repeat this procedure for the second slide.

Installing on Threaded Hole Racks
NOTE: This product must be mounted in the middle of a 4U space. Use the mounting aid at the end of this
document to determine a 4U space and mark the center.
1. Remove the three pins from the rear slide mounting bracket using a flat blade screwdriver 1.
2. Remove the three pins and two nuts from the front slide mounting bracket 2.
3. Attach the rear slide mounting bracket to the rear rack column (screws provided by your rack
manufacturer) 3.
4. Attach the front slide mounting bracket to the front rack column (screws provided by your rack
manufacturer) 4.

Installing on Earlier HP Racks
NOTE: The parts for this procedure are available separately in adapter kit number 5064-9677.
1. Remove the rear mounting brackets from the outer slides 1.
2. Remove the front mounting brackets from the outer slides 2. Save the nuts for use in steps 5and 6
below.
3. Extend the rails 3.
NOTE: This product must be mounted in the middle of a 4U space. Use the mounting aid at the end of this
document to determine a 4U space and mark the center.
4. Attach the front bracket with the two M5x16 screws 4.
5. Attach the slide to the rear of the rack as shown using an M6 Flathead screw and a nut saved from
step 2 5.
6. Attach the slide to the front of the rack as shown using an M6 Flathead screw and a nut saved from
step 2 6.

Mount into Rack
1. Insert the inner rails into the outer rails.
2. Push the workstation to slide it all the way into the rack.
3. Secure the workstation in the rack by tightening the thumb screws on the mounting flanges.
Mounting Aid
1. Place the next page on the bottom of the rack (or on top of an already installed unit in a rack).
2. Align the circles with the rack holes to determine a 4U space.
3. The 4U space will be the top of the workstation after it is installed.
4. Mark the center at 2U. This will be the center line of the slides.

け る方法 と ラ ッ ク にワ ー ク ス テーシ ョ ン を取 り 付け る 方法について説明し ます。
キ ッ ト の内容
本製品は、 HP の丸穴 と 角穴のあ る ラ ッ ク 、 HP の初期型ラ ッ ク 、 ネジ穴のあ る サー ド パーテ ィ
製の ラ ッ ク に、 HP xw6200 ワーク ステーシ ョ ンのス ラ イディ ング ラック キッ トを取り付けるた
めに必要な部品 と い っ し ょ に出荷 さ れ ます。 以下の リ ス ト では、 添付 さ れる すべての部品を説
明し ています。 必ずし も すべての部品をすべての用途に使用する と い う わけではあ り ません。
初期型の HP ラック
初期型の HP ラックにはめ込まれるスライディング ラックの取り付けには、別売のアダプタ
キ ッ ト 製品番号 5064-9677 の部品が必要です。 こ のアダプ タ キッ トには次の部品が含まれてい
ます。

トップ カバーの取り外し
1. シ ス テムの電源を切 り 、 シ ス テ ムの背面か ら 電源ケーブル と その他すべてのケーブルを切
り離します。
2. シャーシの背面にあるスロッ ト 1、マイナスドライバを押し入れて、 トップカバーを取
り 外 し ます。 ト ッ プ カバーを ワ ー ク ス テーシ ョ ンの後方へ押 し なが ら カバーを徐々に上に
持ち上げ、 取 り 外し ます。
注記 : トップカバーを取 り 外すのが難 し い場合は、 ア ク セ ス パネルを開き、 フ ロ ン ト ベゼルを取 り 外し
ます。 それによ り 、 ト ップ カバーをつかんで後方へ押 しやす く な り ます。 ト ッ プ カバーを取 り外した後、
アクセス パネル と フ ロ ン ト ベゼルを必ず元に戻 し て く だ さ い。 こ れら の作業に関する情報については、

レール と フ ラ ン ジの取 り 付け
1. 左ブ ラ ケ ッ ト をシ ャーシ 1の左側 （底部） にあ る ネジ穴に付け ま す。
2. トルクス ドライバとネジを2本使用 し、 フ ラ ン ジ 2を取り 付けます。
3. シャーシ 3の左側 （底部） にあ る 2個のネジ穴に内側ス ラ イ ド を取 り 付けます。
注記 : フ ロ ン ト の内側 ス ラ イ ド のマ ウ ン ト 穴は、 鍵穴形です。
4. トルクス ドライバとネジを2本使用し 、 ス ラ イ ド 4を取り 付けます。
5. シ ャ ーシの右側 （上面） について も 、 こ の手順を繰 り 返 し ます。

スライドを調整する （奥行きが異なる非 HP 製ラ ッ クを取り付ける場合に
のみ必要）
1. スライド調整のアタッチメントを外し ます 1。
2. レールを希望の長 さ に調整 し ま す 2。
3. ス ラ イ ド 調整のア タ ッ チ メ ン ト を挿し 込みます 3。

4U スペースを決定し、 中央に印をつけます。
1. ラック後方のカラム穴にあるスライド マウン ト ブ ラ ケ ッ ト （後ろ側） に 3本のピ ン を挿入
します。 止まるまで前方へスライドさせます

2. ラック前方のカラム穴にあるスライド マウン ト ブ ラ ケ ッ ト （前側） に 3本のピ ン を挿入し
ます。 止ま る まで後方へス ラ イ ド させます 2。
注記 : テ レ ス コ ープ を ス ラ イ ド さ せて完了さ せ ます。
2本目の ス ラ イ ド につい て も 、 こ の手順を繰 り 返 し ま す。

1. マイナス ドライバで、 スライド マウン ト ブラケッ ト （後ろ側） から 3本のピ ン を取 り 外 し
ます 1。
2. スライド マウン ト ブ ラ ケ ッ ト （前側） か ら 3本のピ ン と 2個のナ ッ ト を取 り 外し ます 2。
3. スライド マウン ト ブラケット （後ろ側） を （ラック純正のネジで） ラック後方のカラムに
取り付けます

4. 前側のブ ラ ケ ッ ト を 2本の M5x16 ネジで取り付けます 4。
5. スライドを、 M6 平ネジ と手順 2で保管してあるナッ ト を使用して、 ラ ッ ク後方に取り付け
ます 5。
6. スライドを、 M6 平ネジ と手順 2で保管してあるナッ ト を使用して、 ラ ッ ク前方に取り付け
ます 6。

ラックへのマウント
1. 外側レールへ内側レールを挿入し ます。
2. ワーク ステーシ ョ ンを押し込んで、 ラ ッ クの奥までス ラ イ ド させます。
3. つまみネジでマウン ト フランジにしっかり留めて、 ワークステーションをラックに固定し
ます。
マウン ト エイド
1. 次ページ を ラ ッ ク 底部 （ま たはラ ッ ク にすでに取 り 付け ら れたユニ ッ ト の上部） に貼 り ま
す。
2. ラ ッ ク の穴に円を合わせて、 4U スペースを決定し ます。
3. 4U スペースは、 ワ ーク ス テーシ ョ ンが取 り 付け ら れた後は、 その上部にあ り ます。
4. 中央の 2U に印を付け ます。 こ れがス ラ イ ド の中央線にな り ます。
