GUIDELINES AND SAFETY INFORMATION WHEN USING
ELECTROX STERILISING WATER FOR FOGGING
Electrox Water Limited is dedicated to providing customers with the best and most
reliable pH neutral electrolysed water product on the market today. Customer and
end user health and safety is of paramount importance to us. The following
guidelines, show how to achieve the most effective use of Electrox Sterilising Water.

1
PLEASE READ THIS BOOKLET CAREFULLY PRIOR TO USING ELECTROX STERILISING
WATER AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. ELECTROX WATER LIMITED WILL NOT BE
HELD LIABLE FOR IMPROPER USE OF THE FOGGING MACHINE OR ELECTROX WATER
CAUSED BY NOT FOLLOWING THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Electrox Water Limited has recommended volumes and concentrations of Electrox Sterilising
Water for varying volumes of space being fogged in different environments.
We recommend the use of the fogging machine to produce a standard fog of 6ml of total liquid
for every cubic metre (6ml/m3). Using different amounts of liquid will render the information
provided void and new exposure concentrations and time to reach the point at which PPE is
required will need to be calculated. Please contact the Electrox team for assistance with this if
required.
ELECTROX CONCENTRATIONS
Fogging with Electrox Sterilising Water can be undertaken in a variety of scenarios at different
recommended concentrations. These are listed below:
Medical Environment (hospitals, ambulances) 100% Concentration
Healthcare (doctor surgeries, care homes etc) 50% Concentration
General (offices, schools etc) 50% Concentration
Agriculture and Horticulture 10% Concentration
We recommend that Electrox Sterilising Water is diluted with distilled/deionised or any form of
pure water to achieve best result. You can use tap water but the diluted Electrox Sterilising
Water should not be stored longer than 24 hours after dilution with tap water (dilution with
pure water can be stored for up to 4 weeks).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE AND EFFECTIVE FOGGING
1. Remove people from room to be fogged excluding the user who is wearing appropriate PPE.
See table on page 3 for details on when PPE is required.
2. For users with very sensitive skin it may be advisable to wear gloves. For users with asthma
or other breathing issues, we recommend always wearing PPE when fogging.
3. Fill Electrox fogging machine with Electrox Sterilising Water (see concentrations on page 1).
4. Before starting the fogger make sure the throttle valve (brass screw located on the front of
the reservoir) is fully open by turning it anti-clockwise.
5. Turn on the fogger with the nozzle pointing upwards and into a clear open space. As soon as
there is a thick stream of fog, adjust the throttle valve by turning it clockwise approximately
6 full turns (but this may vary) to produce a spray that will lightly dampen target from a
distance of 1.5-2 metres. At full throttle the fogger dispenses approximately 250ml of liquid
per minute. The adjustment should reduce it down to approximately 200ml per minute.
6. Hold the fogger at a distance of 1.5 – 2 metres from one wall, directing the fog towards the
wall and move methodically around the room spraying walls, tables, chairs, doors, etc.
7. Spray room from top to bottom to allow Electrox Sterilising Water fog to fall and
decontaminate the air (can clean area of air at a range of 4 metres). For large rooms, as well
as fogging towards the walls, walk steadily back an forth across the room moving backwards
approximately 3m at each turn aiming the fogger in one direction to fill the open space
methodically.
8. Ensure a light coverage of Electrox Sterilising Water fog over all areas.
9. Periodically check liquid level to ensure the correct amount is being dispensed within the
calculated fogging time. It is important that the correct amount of liquid is dispensed so it
may be necessary to continue fogging for longer than the calculated time to ensure this
happens.
10. Do not over saturate areas.
11. Do not spray directly onto electrical sockets and/or open electrical devices that do not have
resistance to water (e.g. radios, etc.).
12. Once room has been fogged, allow mist to settle for a minimum of 5 minutes or until fog is
no longer visible. Then ventilate (opening a window is fine) for 2 minutes before
repopulating the room. If room has no ventilation allow a further 5 minutes before
repopulating.

LEVEL OF PPE REQUIRED WHEN FOGGING
This is based on a work day of 8 hours. Users should not be continuously exposed for longer than 1
hour before leaving the fogging process and removing the mask to take a break. This allows the user
to work comfortably without the possibility of the mask being compromised during fogging.
FURTHER INFORMATION
The Health and Safety Executive states that employers are responsible for determining their own
working practices and in-house standards for control of exposure.
