TalkBand B1 FAQs
1 What models of phones can my B1 be paired with?
You can check the phone models in the following website:
http://consumer.huawei.com/en/accessories/tech-specs/talkband-b1.htm
2 How do I get my B1 started?
1. Go to Google Play or App Store, search for Huawei TalkBand, and download it to your phone.
2. Turn on your B1 and check that the Bluetooth icon is blinking and the time is 00:00. You can then pair
up your B1 and your phone.
3. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone to search for and display the nearby Bluetooth devices. Touch
Huawei B1 to pair it with your phone.
4. After your B1 is paired with your phone, run the TalkBand app, flick left on the wizard screen to go to
the home screen, and swipe down on the screen to synchronize the data to your B1 for the first time.
After the time and information are initialized, you can start to use your B1.
3 How do I enable the NFC on my B1? (for Android)
Ensure that the NFC function is available on your phone.
Turn on the NFC on your phone, attach your NFC tag to your B1, and then connect the NFC to your B1
over Bluetooth as prompted.
4 Why can't my B1 automatically reconnect to my phone after the
Bluetooth connection is terminated?
Your B1 may disconnect from your phone if they are too far away from each other. If you bring your B1
back within the range of your phone Bluetooth coverage within 3 minutes, it will automatically reconnect
to your phone if Bluetooth on both devices are still on.
However, if the disconnection lasts for more than 3 minutes, to minimize the energy consumption, your
B1 will automatically turn off Bluetooth and the Bluetooth icon is off. Therefore, after your B1 enters the
range of your phone Bluetooth coverage, you need to press the side button to turn it on, and then your
B1 will automatically reconnect to your phone.
5 How do I connect my B1 to another phone?
Because your B1 always automatically reconnects the device it has connected to before, you need to
perform the following steps if you want to connect your B1 to another phone:
1. Turn off Bluetooth in the nearby phones that once connected to your B1, or delete the B1 Bluetooth
information on the phones.
2. Press and hold the side button for 5 seconds to turn off your B1. Press and hold the button again for 3
seconds to turn it back on. Then the Bluetooth icon starts to blink, indicating that Bluetooth is
available now.
3. Turn on Bluetooth on the phone you want your B1 to be connected to. The phone will search for and
display the nearby Bluetooth devices. Touch Huawei B1 to connect your B1 to the phone.

6 How do I synchronize my B1 data to the Huawei TalkBand app?
Before you start, ensure the following:
1. Your B1 is properly connected to your phone over Bluetooth.
2. Your phone has been installed with the latest Huawei TalkBand app that runs properly.
3. Your phone and your B1 both have sufficient power.
After you run the Huawei TalkBand app, it will automatically synchronize data with your B1.
If you want to manually synchronize the data, go back to the home screen of the app, swipe down the
screen from any point of the screen, and synchronize the data will be synchronized.
7 Why can't my B1 count my steps accurately?
Huawei TalkBand uses advanced algorithm to count your steps. The R&D team has compared Huawei
TalkBand with other wearables. In terms of counting steps of normal walking and running, Huawei
TalkBand has the best performance among similar products and meets your step counting requirements.
For counting your steps, each kind of wearables has requirements on your walking gestures. Not
all walking steps can be counted. No wearable can count your steps 100% correct. Even you yourself can
count your steps wrong. Even though Huawei TalkBand has achieved a very satisfactory performance in
counting steps, the R&D team is still making every effort to optimize this product.
8 How do I push contacts on my phone to my B1 in case of
coming calls?
Before you push your contacts to your B1, ensure that the following:
1. Your B1 is properly connected to your phone over Bluetooth.
2. The Huawei TalkBand app is running properly in the background on your phone.
Note that most Android phones automatically clear up all background processes. If the Huawei
TalkBand app is cleared from the background, your contacts cannot be displayed in your B1 in case of
coming calls. It is strongly recommended that you add the Huawei TalkBand background process to
the white list in your process clearing tool.
Some phone operating systems will automatically turn off apps that are running in the background. For
Huawei EMUI, to enable the Huawei TalkBand app to run in the background, you need to perform the
following steps: choose Settings > Power saving > Protected apps, and then check the Huawei
TalkBand.

For some Android systems, you need to enable the function of accessing contacts for the Huawei TalkBand
app in the Permission manager.
If you are using iPhone, your B1 cannot display your contacts due to the restrictions of the iOS system.
9 How do I use my B1 Bluetooth headset to answer or decline
calls?
When your phone is connected to your B1, your B1 will vibrate in case of coming calls and display the
caller's name or phone number.
If the Bluetooth headset is on the B1, it is assumed by default that you will answer the call on your phone.
If you want to answer the call on your B1, take the Bluetooth headset off from the B1 and press the side
button to answer the call. To decline the call, press and hold the side button for 3 seconds.

10 What can I do if the Bluetooth headset does not fit my ears?
We have provided you with three headset covers. You can choose one based on your own ear size. Put on
your headset and rotate headset to adjust it to the position where the headset can properly fit your ears.
Generally, the microphone should face toward your mouth.
11 When I listen to music over the Bluetooth headset of my B1,
how is the music processed?
Huawei TalkBand uses the innovativeA2DP function that smartly allocates media audio.
1. When your B1 is connected to your phone over Bluetooth and the Bluetooth headset is on your wrist,
the music will come out from your phone instead of your B1's Bluetooth headset.
2. During music playback, if you take off your Bluetooth headset from your wrist, the music will come
out from your headset.
3. When the music is coming out from your Bluetooth headset, if you put it back on your wrist, the
music will automatically stop (this function may not be available on some media players).
Huawei has applied patent for this function.
12 What do I do with my wrist to turn on my B1's screen?
Your B1 has unique motion operations. You can turn on your B1's screen as follows:
1. Wear your B1 on your wrist and raise your wrist levelly.
2. Rotate your wrist outwards for 90 degrees and turn it back. Then you can see the screen is on.
3. Rotate your wrist again to switch between screens.

13 How do I check my B1's battery level?
Method 1: Press the side button to turn on the B1 screen. Go to the time screen, and you can check the
battery level indicator on the right of the screen.
Method 2: If your B1 is properly connected to your phone, check the battery level indicator in the upper
right corner of your Huawei TalkBand app's settings screen.
14 Are there any special requirements for charging my B1 or the
charger?
Huawei TalkBand does not have special requirements on its charger. Common mobile phone USB chargers
can charge your B1, which are compatible with a vehicle-mounted USB port and a portable power bank
USB port. The charging voltage and current can be 5 V/1 A, 5 V/1.5 A, 5 V/2 A, and 5 V/500 mA.
15 How does my B1 monitor my waking and sleeping status?
Your B1 will automatically monitor your waking and sleeping status as long as you are wearing it. If you
put it on a desk, it will stop recording any sleeping or excise data.
16 How is my sleeping quality evaluated?
Your sleeping quality is evaluated by your time of deep sleep, which is calculated by the Huawei TalkBand
app:
Deep sleep time < 1 hour: poor sleeping quality
1 hour ≤ Deep sleep time ≤ 3 hours: average sleeping quality
Deep sleep time > 3 hours: good sleeping quality
17 How do I use the smart alarm clock of my B1?
The smart alarm clock allows you to set a reminder time ahead of your alarm time. During the period
between your reminder time and alarm time, if you are in light sleep, your B1 will remind you at the
reminder time. If you are in deep sleep, your B1 will wake you up at the alarm time.

18 How do I use the activity reminder function of my B1?
Set the following in your Huawei TalkBand app: Interval, Start, End, and Repeat. After you set an
activity reminder, your B1 will monitor your excise load during the set period. If you do not excise enough,
your B1 will vibrate to remind you of taking care of yourself.
19 Do my B1's alarm clock and event notification still work after
my phone is powered off or the Bluetooth connection is
terminated?
Yes. All configuration information has been set in your B1 after you set the smart clock in the Huawei
TalkBand app.
20 How is the waterproof and dustproof performance of my B1?
Your B1 has an IP57 waterproof and dustproof level, preventing dusts from entering your B1 and allowing
it to stay in water less than 1 m deep for half an hour. You do not need to take it off when you are washing
hands, cooking, or taking a shower. However, you are advised to take it off when you are swimming or
diving.
Found some water drops in your B1? Don't worry. Your B1 remains functional as long as you clean up
any water drops found.
21 How do I clean my B1?
You can use damp tissues or cloth to clean your B1 and then use dry cloth or tissues to dry it up.
Note the following when cleaning your B1:
Do not use any chemical cleaning agents.
Clean your headset and wrist band separately. Avoid immersing your B1 for a long time.
Residual water on the microphone or earphone may affect your call quality. Use tissues to absorb
the water.
22 Why does my B1 vibrate from time to time without
any warnings on the screen?
The metal contacts in your B1 may be short-circuited. Check the following three positions. If any foreign
matter is found, clean it up.
1. The five metal contacts in the rear of the headset. Check whether they are damp or there is any water
or foreign matter on them.
2. The five metal terminals in the headset slot on the wrist band. Check whether they are in the same
height. Press each terminal to see whether they will bounce back to the normal height. Check whether
there is any foreign matter, water drops, or other agents that may cause short circuits.

23 How do I clear up all data of my B1 and restore it to factory
settings?
To restore your B1 to factory settings, press and hold the side button for 20s to 25s.
However, the fitting data, sleeping data, and time data in your B1 cannot be cleared up. This will be
optimized in later versions.
24 How do I update my B1's firmware and app versions?
Your B1 supports OTAupdates. To update your B1's firmware and app, perform the following steps:
1. Ensure that your B1 is connected to your phone properly over Bluetooth.
2. Run Huawei TalkBand on your phone and choose Settings>About.
3. Touch Update TalkBand to update your B1's firmware.
4. Touch Update TalkBand app to update your Huawei TalkBand app.
