1 Safety Precautions
The following safety precautions provide important information to prevent fire and personal
injury caused by improper use of the device. Read this section before installing a device, and
comply with these cautions during use. If you want to install the device in a public place,
provide a conspicuous warning message "You have entered the electronic surveillance area."
The actual device governs, and this document is only for reference.
The device may be upgraded without prior notice.
For the latest programs and supplementary documentation, contact Huawei customer
service center.
If any problems occur during use, contact the supplier or customer service center.
Any loss caused by improper operations is born by the buyer.
Basic Precautions
Install the device in strict accordance with the installation guide.
Never try to dissemble the device on your own. If any fault occurs, contact the specified
maintenance center.
No unit or individual is allowed to change the device structure, safety configuration, and
performance without authorization.
Use this device in accordance with the related laws and with respect for others' legal
rights.
Power Supply Precautions
Use a power adapter meeting Limited Power Source (LPS) requirements and comply
with the local electrical safety standards during device installation.
Use a power adapter matching this device. The power supply voltage must meet the
input voltage requirement.
Never power on the device before installation completes. Before installing or removing a
cable, stop using the device and power it off.

Verify that a proper power supply is used before running the device.
Keep the power plug to be clean and dry to prevent electric shock or other risks.
When the device is installed in voltage instability regions, grounding the device and
releasing the surge of high-energy to prevent power equipment burnning out.
Precautions for Use
Avoid heavy weight, violent vibration, soaking during transport, storage, and installation;
otherwise, the device may be damaged. Any damage caused by improper transport of the
assembled device during delivery from or sending back to the manufacture for repair is
out of the warranties.
Never install the device upside down. Hold the device with careful. Never tightly press
any structural parts; otherwise, mechanical breakdown may occur.
Never dissemble the device to repair it. The device must be checked and repaired by
professional maintenance personnel.
Never scratch or abrade the device surface; otherwise, the paint that is dropped down
may cause allergy or device damage. For example, if it drops into the host, electrical
malfunction may occur.
If any exceptions occur, for example, smoke is blown out of the device, the device
sounds abnormally, or peculiar smell is found, stop using the device, power it off, and
remove all cables (such as the power cord and networking cable) connected to the device.
If the device is faulty, contact the specified maintenance center for repair.
Cleaning Precautions
Before cleaning the device, stop using the device and power it off, and then remove all
cables (such as the power cord and network cable) connected to the device.
Use a soft and dry cloth to clean the device. If there is any dirt that is difficult to clean,
place a few drops of mild detergent on a soft and clean cloth before cleaning.After the
dirt is removed, dry the device with a cloth.
Never use any volatile solvents (such as the alcohol, benzene, and thinner) or strong and
abrasive alkaline detergent; otherwise, the device surface may be damaged or the device
performance may be reduced.
Environment Precautions
Never allow any water or other liquid to flow into the device. If any liquid flows into the
device by accident, power the device off, and remove all cables (such as the power cord
and network cable) connected to the device.
Avoid heavy weight, violent vibration, soaking during transport, storage, and installation;
otherwise, the device may be damaged.
Install the device at a place far away from the heat source or ignition source, such as an
electric heater or lighted candle.
Never install or use the device in places where flammable or explosive materials are
saved or in use.
Deploy surge protection devices if the device is installed outside.
When working high above the ground, take security measures, such as wearing helmets
and safety belts and choosing secure elevating apparatus.

box camera is running, stop video recording first.

Supports the complete TCP/IP protocol suite. Support video, audio, and alarm data.
Provides a built-in web browser and supports access using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Supports network data transmission and remote access.
Supports Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE), Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol (DHCP), and Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS).
Supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) that complies with the IEEE802.3af standard. The
IP camera can connect to a switch or router supporting the PoE function to implement
PoE.
Supports remote upgrade and maintenance.
Image Processing Features
Supports multiple streams. Encoding parameters for the main stream and sub stream can
be configured separately.
Supports dynamic stream parameters based on different image quality requirements.
Supports independent hardware compression and constant bit rate (CBR). Videos can be
compressed using the Motion Joint Photographic Experts Group (MJPEG) or H.264
standard. The frame rate and image quality can be configured.
I/O Features
Support bidirectional intercom and unidirectional broadcast.
Supports RS-485 serial port control and transparent channel transmission.
Provides a 10/100 Mbit/s self-adaptive Ethernet port.
Other Features
Supports the heartbeat function that allows the management host to learn the running
status of the IP camera in real time.
Supports alarm input and output, motion detection alarms and alarm linkage functions.
Supports level-based user rights management.
Security Features
Adopt SSH protocol instead of FTP, Telnet and other unsecure protocols. When
accessing by web browser, HTTPS protocol is used for the security of data transmission.
Authentication mechanism is set for all the ports including the ports used by web
browser, serial port and SSH, etc.
All passwords in the system can meet the complexity requirement.
The system provides encryption protection for all the passwords.
All the opened ports are necessary for system running. All the unsecure communication
ports are closed. The corresponding introductions of the opened communication ports are
introduced in the manual of product communication matrix.
Software packages and upgrade packages have been scanned by anti-virus softwares
(such as Symantec, Trend officeScan, Mcafee, Avira AntiVir, Kaspersky, etc.), and the
scanning results are provided in the version description document.

In this manual, the way to use the camera is not recommended for auto focus lens, because
this method used base on RS485 which it is complicated to connect for camera to work. So
there are only two ways installation description in the manual, including auto aperture lens
with manual focus and manual aperture lens with manual focus.
3.2.1 Installing an Auto Aperture and Manual focus Lens
Before installing a lens, remove the front protection cap from the camera first.
Figure 3-1 shows how to install an auto aperture and manual focus lens.

Step 1 Attach the lens to the camera body and turn the lens clockwise until it locks into place.
Step 2 Insert the cable plug of the lens into the IRIS port on the side of the camera body.
Step 3 After adjust focus, lock the Tele/wide and focus pullers mounted on the lens

3.2.2 Installing a Manual Aperture and Manual focus Lens
Installing a C-Mount Manual Aperture and Manual focus Lens
Before installing a lens, remove the front protection cap from the camera first. Need to use
C/CS adapter ring when connect to the C mount lens.
Step 1 Use the Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw on the side of the focusing ring.
Turn the focusing ring counterclockwise to extend it for several millimeters and manually
bring the camera into focus.
The camera has been calibrated before delivery. You can also adjust the focusing ring as required to
obtain the required focus.
Step 2 Tighten the screw using the Phillips screwdriver to secure the focusing ring.
Step 3 Install the C/CS mount adapter to the camera.
Step 4 Attach the lens to the camera body and turn the lens clockwise until it locks into place.

Installing a CS-Mount Manual Aperture and Manual focus Lens
Before installing a lens, remove the front protection cap from the camera first.
Step 1 Use the Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw on the side of the focusing ring.Fully turn the
focusing ring counterclockwise and manually bring the camera into focus.
The camera has been calibrated before delivery. You can also adjust the focusing ring as required to
obtain the required focus.
Step 2 Tighten the screw using the Phillips screwdriver to secure the focusing ring.
Step 3 Attach the lens to the camera body and turn the lens clockwise until it locks into place.

Step 1 Turn the lens counterclockwise until it is removed.
Step 2 Remove the cable plug of the auto aperture lens from the IRIS port.
If you are removing a manual aperture lens, skip Step 2.
