Before you begin
Check the following items in the product package. If you find anything missing or damaged,
contact the service provider.

Getting to Know Your USB Stick
The supported functions and actual appearance are subject to your product purchased. The
following pictures are displayed for illustration purpose only.

Indicator
Green Red Amber Description
On Blink - The USB Stick is initializing.
On On - The USB Stick has not accessed the network.
The network has no signal strength.
On - - The USB Stick accesses the network normally; however,
no data is being transmitted.
On - Blink Data is being transmitted.
Requirements for the PC
Your PC must meet the following configuration requirements for using the USB Stick.
Otherwise, the operation performance of the USB Stick may be degraded.
32-bit version of Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, Windows 7.
Your computer’s hardware system should meet or exceed the recommended system
requirements for the installed version of operating system (OS).
Resolution for the display: 800 × 600 or above.
Standard USB 2.0 interface.
Connecting the External Antenna (Optional)
CAUTION:
Do not use the external antenna outdoors.

During lightning storms, stop using the external antenna and disconnect it from the USB
Stick.
To connect the external antenna to your USB Stick, do as follows:
1. Power off the USB Stick.
2. Push the cover of the antenna interface and then connect the external antenna to the
interface.
3. Put the external antenna in an open space without any surrounding obstacles, to
ensure good reception of network signals.
Installation Guide
The procedure for installing the management program depends on the OS installed on your
PC. The following section takes Windows XP as an example.
Connecting the USB Stick to the PC
Note:
During lightning storms, power off the USB Stick and disconnect it from the computer.
It is recommended to power on the PC before connect the USB Stick to the PC, do as
follows:
1. Power on the PC.
2. Connect the USB Stick to the PC, as shown in the following figure.

Installing the Management Program
1. Power on the PC.
2. Connect the USB Stick to the PC.
3. The OS displays a message that new hardware is found and prompts you to install the
management program.
4. Install the management program according to the on-screen instructions.
5. When you finish installing the management program, the shortcut icon of the
management program appears in the notification area.
Note:
To install or uninstall the management program, you need to log in to the OS as a user or an
administrator. You can not install or uninstall the program if logging in as a guest.
Uninstalling the Management Program
1. Exit the management program.
2. Choose Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.

3. Click Change/Remove Programs.
4. Find the management program.
5. Click Change/Remove.
6. Uninstall the management program according to the on-screen instructions.
Disconnecting the USB Stick
If is not displayed in the notification area, do as follows:
1. Exit the management program.
2. Disconnect the USB Stick from the PC.
If is displayed in the notification area, do as follows:
1. Double-click in the notification area. The OS displays the message that "Safely
remove hardware."
2. Stop running the corresponding hardware of the USB Stick on the Device Manager.
3. Disconnect the USB Stick or the USB cable from the PC after the OS displays the
message that you can remove the hardware safely.
Connecting and Disconnecting a Network
Connecting a Network
1. Start the management program and then click Connection.
2. Enter the user name and password provided by the Internet service provider (ISP), and
save the user account. If the user name and password text boxes are not available, skip
this step.

3. Click Connect.
Then the USB Stick tries to connect to the network. When the connection is established,
the icons indicating a successful network connection and the signal strength are
displayed at the bottom of the management program interface.
Disconnecting Network
When you do not use the Internet, you can disconnect the USB Stick from the network
manually.
After you disconnect the network connection, you need to connect the USB Stick to the
network again before accessing the Internet.
1. Start the management program and click Connection.
2. Click Disconnect.
For details about the settings of management program, see the online help in the
management program. To read the online help, you need to install the Adobe Reader 6.0 or
later versions.

Troubleshooting
When the USB Stick is connected to the PC for the first time, the
system does not prompt you to install the Management Program.
After the system recognizes the new hardware, you need to wait a few minutes for the
system to prepare for the installation of the program.
Ensure that the USB Stick is connected to the PC correctly and is displayed in the
notification area. Otherwise, disconnect the USB Stick and then connect it to the PC
again.
Check whether the disk icon is displayed in the My Computer window.
1. If yes, double-click the icon.
2. If not, remove the USB Stick from the PC and restart the PC. Then connect the
USB Stick to the PC again.
Log in to the Web site specified by the ISP to download the installation program, and
then install the program.
Ensure that the auto play function of the OS is enabled.
The Management Program cannot start automatically after the
installation.
Check whether the shortcut icon of the management program is displayed on the
desktop or in the notification area. If yes, double-click the icon to start the management
program.
Ensure that the USB Stick is correctly connected to the PC as follows:
1. Uninstall the management program.

2. Disconnect the USB Stick from the PC, and then connect the USB Stick to the
PC again.
3. Install the management program according to the on-screen instructions.
Remove the USB Stick safely and restart the PC. Then connect the USB Stick to the PC
again.
Ensure that the auto play function of the OS is enabled.
The USB Stick cannot access the Internet.
Ensure that you are in the service area.
Ensure that the USB Stick is connected to the PC correctly and the management
program is installed correctly.
Ensure that you have subscribed to the Internet access service. Contact your local ISP
for how to subscribe to the service.
When you power on the PC after the USB Stick is connected, the
Windows OS hangs.
Check the settings of devices such as the USB port and network adapter in the Basic
Input/Output System (BIOS) of the PC. It is recommended that you enable devices
such as the USB port and the network adapter.
Remove the USB Stick safely and restart the PC. Then connect the USB Stick to the PC
again.

Warnings and Precautions
To use the device properly and safely, read these warnings and precautions carefully and
strictly observe them during operation.
Basic Requirements
During storage, transportation, and operation of the device, keep it dry and prevent it
from colliding with other objects.
Do not dismantle the device. In case of any fault, contact an authorized service center
for assistance or repair.
Without authorization, no organization or individual can change the mechanical, safety,
or performance design of the device.
When using the device, observe all applicable laws and regulations and respect the
legal rights of other people.
Environmental Requirements for Using the Device
Before connecting and disconnecting cables, stop using the device, and then
disconnect it from the power supply. Ensure that your hands are dry during operation.
Keep the device far from sources of heat and fire, such as a heater or a candle.
Keep the device far from electronic appliances that generate strong magnetic or electric
fields, such as a microwave oven or a refrigerator.
Place the device on a stable surface.
Place the device in a cool and well-ventilated indoor area. Do not expose the device to
direct sunlight. Use the device in an area with a temperature ranging from 0°C to 40°C.
During thunderstorms, power off the device, and then remove all the cables connected
to it to prevent it from getting damaged due to lightning strikes.

Precautions for Using Wireless Devices
Do not use the device where using wireless devices is prohibited or may cause
interference or danger.
The radio waves generated by the device may interfere with the operation of electronic
medical devices. If you are using any electrical medical device, contact its manufacturer
for the restrictions on the use of the device.
Do not take the device into operating rooms, intensive care units (ICUs), or coronary
care units (CCUs).
Areas with Inflammables and Explosives
Do not use the device where inflammables or explosives are stored, for example, in a
gas station, oil depot, or chemical plant. Otherwise, explosions or fires may occur. In
addition, follow the instructions indicated in text or symbols.
Do not store or transport the device in the same box as inflammable liquids, gases, or
explosives.
Accessory Requirements
Use only the accessories supplied or authorized by the device manufacturer. Otherwise, the
performance of the device may get affected, the warranty for the device or the laws and
regulations related to telecommunications terminals may become null and void, or an injury
may occur.
Safety of Children
Keep the device and its accessories out of the reach of children. Otherwise, they may
damage the device and its accessories by mistake, or they may swallow the small
components of the device, causing suffocation or other dangerous situations.

Maintenance
If the device is not used for a long time, power it off, and then remove all the cables
connected to it.
If any exception occurs, for example, if the device emits any smoke or unusual sound or
smell, stop using the device immediately, power it off, remove all the cables connected
to it, and then contact an authorized service center.
Do not trample, pull, or overbend any cable. Otherwise, the cable may get damaged,
causing malfunction of the device.
Before cleaning the device, stop using it, power it off, and then remove all the cables
connected to it.
Use a clean, soft, and dry cloth to clean the device shell. Do not use any cleaning agent
or spray to clean the device shell.
Traffic Security
Observe local laws and regulations while using the device. To prevent accidents, do not
use your wireless device while driving.
RF signals may affect electronic systems of motor vehicles. For more information,
consult the vehicle manufacturer.
In a motor vehicle, do not place the device over the air bag or in the air bag deployment
area. Otherwise, the device may hurt you owing to the strong force when the air bag
inflates.
Disposal and Recycling Information
This symbol on the device (and any included batteries) indicates that the
device (and any included batteries) should not be disposed of as normal
household garbage. Do not dispose of your device or batteries as unsorted
municipal waste. The device (and any batteries) should be handed over to a

certified collection point for recycling or proper disposal at the end of its life.
For more detailed information about the recycling of the device or batteries, contact
your local city office, the household waste disposal service, or the retail store where you
purchased this device.
The disposal of this device is subject to the Waste from Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE) Directive of the European Union. The purpose for separating
WEEE and batteries from other waste is to minimize any environmental impact and
health hazard due to the presence of hazardous substances.
